Fingers crossed for you @hp_momma! Maybe one of his nurses or whoever was covering for him put the referrals in when he left for that training or whatever and he cancelled it when he got back and saw?
How strange but also hoping that means good news! Do you have an appointment with the doc coming up? ETA. I'm special and didnt read Friday... hope you get good news!
@WombThereItIs That's exactly what I was wondering too is if the nurses just put the referral in from our last appointment and then at the growth ultrasound he was out of town so I saw a different doctor and maybe he's just now back to review everything...
Thanks everyone! I'm feeling more relieved that it's one less thing on my list of overwhelming appointments!

@hp_momma have you ever asked to be referred to Seattle Children's for further diagnosis? All of my care there has been paid for by the navy. I'm just wondering if they referred you there could you get some real answers? I know I got some really good information and care when I was sent there for my little one. Those doctors really know what they're talking about.

By all means hold your earrings. I've spoken to her before we're in the same geographic area and she's seen some of my posts about what I've gone through with my baby.
@bacorrea well I've been in the Navy 16 years. I've MORE than experienced the military healthcare system.
Thanks for your service! I'm not here to argue. Just clarifying. I've had amazing medical care through the military and crappy medical care. Same in the civilian world. It's not all cut and dry.
@bacorrea Thanks for clarifying if that ends up being the case. I don't see any dig personally, but then again I have no experience/knowledge though I have been fascinated by some of the discussions that have occurred revolving around military life/healthcare. My first thought was the fact that she was not the first June person to come over to May today, and it's been brought up in random.
@Wearmi1 I totally don't mind you lurking over here as we have had similar discussions. I DO get where @WombThereItIs is coming from like @bacorrea mentioned and appreciate her support as well!
I have not been referred to Seattle Children's nor have I asked about it. I feel like the MTF I am being seen at is more than capable of addressing all of mine and babies concerns and although my doctor lacks some communication skills, he has been very informative, caring, and overall great. I'm not sure if you are aware that this MTF is a highly sought after and competitive Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship program. Out of all the MTF I could have been assigned to, I feel very fortunate and lucky to be at this one at this time! My DH has been in the Army for almost 10 years and I too have had my fair share of military medicine. Also, while he is not a physician, DH works directly within medical operations, so we have a little more understanding than just your average "joe".
I've spoken to the pediatric geneticist that works directly in our hospital and feel very comfortable with him from just a phone call. Unfortunately my child's diagnosis is unpredictable at this point until he is actually born, which is directly what the geneticist has told me. Even if it does happen to be a skeletal dysplasia, there are over 400 variations. From the ultrasound, we can eliminate that it is not a fatal form, but even an amnio would not be able to pinpoint an exact diagnosis. My husband and I have chosen not to get an amnio, which was also agreed upon as a good decision by the geneticist.
Again, I truly appreciate ALL the support I have received from my wonderful May ladies and anyone else!
**totally realized I used more military acronyms, so in case anyone was wondering MTF is Military Treatment Facility or the hospital!

@hp_momma You have a great attitude and that'll help tremendously. I'm sorry you and your family are going through this, but it sounds like you're seeking and getting the care and answers you need. Thinking about you!!
My regular MFM doctor is still away at a conference but he will be back at my next appointment in two weeks to review everything in detail with me. All the notes and images are being sent to him for review and he will call before then if he sees anything super concerning that can't wait.
The MFM doctor I saw today was very happy with how baby was looking and developing. We discussed the mix-up with the NICU tour and he agreed that it wasn't necessary to tour right now and it sounds like the NICU staff was confused that there was an actual diagnosis already and that's why they were so quick to schedule me. The doctor just wanted NICU to be aware of what was going on in case they were needed.
So overall baby is measuring around 3 1/2 lbs and is about 11th percentile. So steady progress and maybe a *slight* increase! Kidneys have always been dilated but today the left kidney was completely normal and the right was just barely dialated so they are pretty confident that it will be not an issue by time of delivery. Baby was practicing his breathing and moving around quite a bit, they were able to do a bio-physical profile today and he scored 8/8!
Baby is head down and VERY low and conveniently his head is right on my bladder which explains the constant need to use the bathroom. He also has some hair we could see on the ultrasound!
I start bi-weekly NSTs next week and I'll start seeing my doctor every 2wks from here. My next growth ultrasound is in 4wks!
