Re: FTM (First Time Mom) Check in 2/21

  • Hello ladies, this is my first check in because honestly with all the other post I haven't seen it. I'm mostly on mobile.

    How far along are you?
According to LMP, I am 7 weeks and 2 days. EDD: October 10

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in?
I've noticed my boobs are more sore, like I am about to start wearing sports bras instead of regular ones because they hurt when they move. Also, ZITS, all over my face. And the amount of oil I wake up with on my face and hair in the morning I could probably change the oil in y'alls cars.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go?
Since I haven't checked in, I've only had 1 appointment on Feb 7-9 for beta draws. My HCG tripled in 48 hours, so they said it was looking great. But my first actual appt is WEDNESDAY and we will get to see baby chicken nugget (yes I nicknamed it) and at that point I will be 8+1 so I'm keeping fingers crossed we see a heart beat. I'm getting nervous because this was the point I got to last time before I found out I MC'd. Prayers would be appreciated :)

    Rants/raves?
    None today...yet.

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
I guess this one is more for STM, did y'all use the breast milk pump? Like, dislike? Opinons?

GTKY: What is your favorite season?
Spring/summer, I like warm but with the way the weather has been lately it's going to be a long, hot, miserable summer here in Texas.

  • @jessirh I've already announced it to everyone!
  • And yet again...my whole post won't show. Lol
  • @tyannejohn I used the Medela Swing. It was comfortable and easy but i generally disliked pumping.

@Cythe Could you look into a doula service? Someone that can reach you quicker than 10hours?

Currently sitting waiting to do labs, doc says all looks good I just wasn't as far along as we thought and thats ok!

    Rants/raves?
    Not really at this point.

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
I think I'm good for now

GTKY: What is your favorite season?
Fall for sure; we don't really have a spring in the AZ desert and summer is pretty terrible so... Fall it is!
  • @tyannejohn I used Medela Pump-In-Style, which I got for free through my insurance.  Overall it was comfortable and easy to use. I didn't have any chapped nipples or anything like that, but I also used a lot of Lanolin/Vaseline after pumping.

I exclusively pumped for DD because she wouldn't latch due to me having flat nipples. I mostly felt like a cow, that spent its entire day worrying about how and when I would pump next, but I was grateful for the opportunity to share my breast milk with my baby!
  • @Myelhsa thank you! I've been referred to that brand before too! I'm trying to weigh my options because I feel like I'm not 100% sure ill be able to breast feed, low milk production runs in my family. I'm hoping for the best and going to look more into that system.

@tyannejohn I used medella pump in style too, worked great! I had to pump a lot due to work so it was my lifesaver.  I also used freemie cups with it which was amazing bc I could pump while driving
