@happyhiccup I've gone through my sister's friend for LLR. She has a set-up on Facebook for sales every Monday night. I think you can find someone like that, even if you don't know them. She may also have a website now, I'm not sure...hmm... Of course now I'm off FB, which probably helps my wallet but I want more! Maybe I should track down that website.
I get tons of positive comments on my Julia dress, which is all the more impressive since I live in fashionable NYC.
First time in my life eating at a sit down restaurant by myself. I really wanted sushi for lunch, so I am at a local place and at a small table flying solo. DH is out of town and my friends are all working. It feels lonely, but not as awkward as I had expected.
@dragonfly87 For about 6 months, I worked close to where my mom did (she's a waitress) and about once a week I would go there for lunch and sit by myself. It's not at nearly as bad as people think it is and at least you don't feel pressured to keep the conversation going!

@dragonfly87 I love eating lunch alone! There is something so relaxing and empowering about sitting there, glass of wine in hand, watching the world go by
Whew. Lunch is over now. It was delicious and relaxing. I enjoyed it, other than the rude couple who sat next to me. They were about 2 feet away (small restaurant) and the guy lifted his menu to block his face, but I could still hear him say, "how weird is it that she is alone and kind of rude she is taking a table up by herself." His girlfriend giggled.
Ugh, I should have said something but chose to just ignore it. I also think the lady on the other side of me was being scammed by a guy trying to sell her his services for investing. He was wearing jeans and a T-shirt claiming to have developed a multi million dollar algorithm that could beat the market. She was older (late 60s) and really into it. Ugh I actually wish I had intervened and told her, "don't trust anyone that promises a 8-10% return regardless of how the rest of the market performs."
@dragonfly87 what an a-hole...Like you were taking up so much more space than a couple? How dare you have lunch? I would never have that reaction to seeing someone dining out alone.
@dragonfly87 Whaaat? That's a complete asinine statement... people go out to eat solo ALL the time. That's also like saying that if two people go out to eat but sit at a 4 top then they are being rude for taking up a table that 4 people can sit at. He is the one who should feel sad that he is dependant on others to go out and live life.
@happyhiccup I primarily shop from a TTGP grad @Krys (I feel like an investor in her nursery furniture, I've bought so much haha) but browse somewhat local people (other milspouses stationed elsewhere in Korea)
@dragonfly87 What??? You've never dined solo before? Welcome to one of life's great pleasures. You go where you want (zero 'anything sounds good to me' 'how about Thai?' 'no.' uhhhhh), you think about what you want, you stay for the precise amount of time you want to, no one takes nibbles off your plate, no one wants you to split something that wasn't your first choice... It's glorious.
As to that jackwagon. What a giant douche. It's not like you were at a 5-top in a packed restaurant on St. Patrick's Day. And no, I don't always want to sit at the bar. Because then sometimes they want to talk to me. And I don't want to make nicey. I just want to do my thing. Besides, how the eff does he know that you weren't traveling on business or something? What you're supposed to just eat alone in your hotel room because the mere presence of a solo diner offends his sensibilities? Uh, no. And the giggling twit who was with him deserves him. Actually catching ish for eating alone is the exception to the rule. I pretty much never have that happen to me and with H's job plus my work travel, I have a lot of experience with it.

@lulu1180 I nearly spit out my wine that was so funny. Your h and my h would be best buds @dragonfly87 I'm not a huge fan of eating alone, however, sushi is actually one of those meals I really enjoy eating all by myself. I guess it started out as most of my friends not liking sushi so I had no one to go with. Now it's just something I enjoy doing myself. It's just so relaxing and I love the time alone to reflect @kiwi2628 Yes!! I'm currently drinking a glass of cabernet (Horse Heaven Hills). Delicious!
I was going to make fun of myself for making a playlist on Spotify of pretty much every song I enjoy in all of musical theater (over 500 songs) entitled 'Clean Yo House', but my house is cleaner than it's been in a long time so I guess it worked.

I'm playing it like @heatherdubrow's siggy and enjoying some bubbles tonight. I usually save champagne for special occasions, but I accidently ended up with 4 bottles of really yummy champagne. And well...I'm hoping that I don't have a lot of time to consume them ;-)
Cheers, ladies.

I hate how eating healthy lunches just leaves me craving sugary things. I have oven roasted veggies and chicken and I'm full but still wanna make a trip to Krispy Kreme.
