Laying low tonight since I can't seem to shake this sinus headache and it's the end of the marking period, but we are headed into NYC tomorrow for a friend's birthday. Fun fact: the first time we all went out for his birthday, I ended up drinking an entire bottle of wine at dinner and ended up falling on my butt with my feet in the air after trying to Superstar it. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the bar after. It was the first (and only) time DH had to hold my hair back.  Sunday is a Super Bowl party with DH's work BFF. He and his wife have been giving us all of their baby stuff, like a cosleeper, maternity and baby clothes, and bouncer. We're picking up a swing this time. They are great!

My Friday night will consist of putting away 8 billion loads of laundry and cleaning. Tomorrow we are doing a "frozen" 5K. Not like Frozen the movie, frozen because it's sponsored by a hockey team and it's effing cold in Cincinnati right now. I'm still getting over a cold, pray I don't die tomorrow  . Sunday we are having people over for the Super Bowl. I'm pretty excited for buffalo chicken dip and meatballs!

Driving out to see dh's brother about 2.5 hours away for his sisters b-day and a lot of his family will be there. Not really looking forward to it, the only thing I'm looking forward to is the jetted tub in our hotel room with my bottle of wine. Lol

We are going to a pet expo tomorrow... Which may sound boring, but I looovvee wandering around finding new, local things for my furry friends. Plus, loads of free samples!

Sunday, not much. I think maybe the super bowl at H's friends' house, but he's terrible at communicating plans.

@zwink1 - DH and I love pet expos! That's how we were introduced to the breed of our fur baby actually We keep saying we need to go to another one soon, but we always forget.

This weekend is looking like board game night on Saturday and hanging with the ILs for the Super Bowl. Should be fun Can't complain.

I'm going to a sample sale for a brand I love but cannot afford, pretty excited about that! Maybe some sewing, I've got some fabric I've been wanting to try to make a dress out of. Sunday I'll be watching the kitten bowl because it's so stinking cute and then a super bowl party later!

Girls night tonight! A group of like 12 of us are getting together for dinner and wine and just hanging out, which will be fun. Tomorrow I work. Sunday we actually have no superbowl plans! My H and I are not big into football, nor are any of our friends (March Madness now, then it is on!), so no one really does it. Sunday will probably be a nice hike in the woods assuming it isn't zero degrees.

AFM, going to H's basketball game tonight, and then we're hopefully doing a date night tomorrow night. We cancelled super bowl plans to just take it easy at home.

I think just drowning myself in wine and Netflix.  I had way too many social obligations last weekend and now all I want to do is be alone with my trashy tv shows.

@zwink1  A pet expo sounds awesome! I would want to take home all the dogs though, DH probably wouldn't want me to go to something like that!

@zwink1 that sounds amazing. I love to spoil my boys- it's gotten to the point where if I buy something for the cat, I buy something for my dog to make sure he doesn't feel left out. 

I'm doing my Valentine's Day baking tonight, though it probably won't get to my husband in time. I'm gonna hold out some hope, though- a package I sent made it in a week once. Hopefully this will be the same. 

And while I bake, I plan on being on the phone arguing with my student loan companies. Why did my payment suddenly jump $25, Navient? Hopefully rolling dough and using cookie cutters will be a good way to channel my rage

@jsnakehole Navient is the worst! Are you on any sort of income-driven repayment plan? If so, and if you haven't sent them any income verification in a year, it might be that they've re-adjusted your payment.

@adirat did you see that Jax and Brittany got their own show?! I don't think they are interesting enough. Tom and Ariana want their own show too but they are definitely too boring for that to happen.

@sheknows6 It's tough! Luckily they only let shelters and rescues bring in adoptables. That does not stop me from wanting to apply to take them all home! 

I've been trying to get H to let me adopt a retired greyhound forever. No go so far. Then again, I also want an Irish Wolfhound... I must choose my battles wisely, but H is a sucker for anything that needs an adoptive home. He's such a softy. Right now our bratty Shiba rules the roost and is picky about anyone entering Her domain so we're pretty limited.

@adirat @haylsbayls I finally caught up on the latest VPR last night. The James douchery was on point. And, I'm pretty new to the VPR obsession, so is it just me or is Scheana the most annoying person ever?

@antoto Netflix and wine weekends are the best. I got to do that last weekend, and the introvert in me is like "let's do that again!" But, alas, must socialize. 



DH is part of the local volunteer fire department, and they have their annual fundraiser tomorrow night, so we'll be doing that. It's cute to see DH in his fire department garb... the whole event is very small-town cute. 

Sunday we're having people over for Super Bowl. I don't think anyone attending cares about the game, but it's a fun excuse for a get-together and eating/drinking our body weight.

@LuND I'm always at odd with the appeal of being a hermit but also intense FOMO when my friends do cool shit without me.  I just want to simultaneously be alone and also never miss out on anything.  Is that too much to ask?

@zwink1 I want an Irish Wolfhound too!!! Of course, rescuing one would be preferable... but it sucks that they're life expectancy is literally 6.5 years. 

@adirat Brittany's homophobic mom is the worst. Homophobia aside, the shallow side of me hopes she sees herself on TV and realizes her hair and makeup are atrocious. Pale, shimmery lipstick on a 50 year old woman with a face like a saddle bag? C'mon!

@antoto In a weird way I'm lucky that there generally isn't anything too interesting going on in this small town. So, if my friends do anything without me it's likely just drinking at the local bar, or game night. So my FOMO isn't very strong.

@adirat I know! Her mom was terrible. Of all the shitty things that Jax has done, she was worried about him possibly kissing a guy?! I'll watch their show because I'm obsessed but I won't be happy about it. I'm just not sure what it's going to be about.... them fighting over her making him a sandwich? I don't think they have friends outside of the regular cast so will it include all of them as well?

@ag90. Ah!  I was totally into them when I was teaching!  But I haven't looked at them in a while.  Love their prints.  One of my fave tshirts I still wear is from there, but I felt like the dresses were cut a little straight or something for me. :p

You guys, I seriously love my RE. She was practically gushing at how excited she is for my FET and she's so sure it's going to work. Then she sat and chatted about life with me. She's so great I wish I could keep her forever.

I'm not doing anything super fun this weekend. I'm working at the studio tomorrow and Sunday. I have another dance friend of my girls sleeping over tonight. But since I have to be st the studio by 8:45 tomorrow, they'll be in bed early. I filed my tax returns finally today! Got word federal was accepted so now I wait for that text. Some is being put away for our trip to Hershey PA for nationals. The other parts are to rid some debt and savings.

@zwink1 that sounds so fun - I could never be let loose at a pet expo - I'd be petting and obsessing over everything. 

DH is getting over laryngitis/strep throat, but hoping he's better for our Super Bowl party on Sunday with our friends. I'm making my mom's salsa recipe - can't wait to see what our friendfam thinks of it!
