I gave in and coslept last night. Which I'm sure I will regret some day. Hopefully the sleep gets better again soon!
I see the appeal of co-sleeping but am afraid to do it myself for two reasons: DH or myself might roll right onto him as we're pretty heavy sleepers and the possibility of the crib transition being impossible. I have a friend whose 2 yo still won't sleep in his own room and they're due with another one in a few months and my brothers slept with my mom till they were each about 7, which I always thought was weird being the oldest in the house. So we did directly to the crib which does mean when I wake, I am awake but it's the only other option.
We've been co-sleeping since LO refused to sleep in her bassinet. (Her room is on the other side of the house and I've been afraid she'll wake DD when she wakes in the MOTN.) DH put her in the crib while I was getting DD to bed and LO is still asleep 3 hours later! I should take advantage of the chance to sleep without hanging off the side of the bed but I'm going crazy without having her nearby.
Uhhh B rolled over onto his belly overnight while sleeping. He is fully swaddles arms in. His head was to the side like usual so took me a minute to realize.
My nights of good sleep are over bc he hasn't done well when I try arms out swaddle
I'd rather have sleep haha. He fussed and moved around with arms out swaddle for 20-25 min then went into full on melt down screaming and crying and inconsolable. I finally whipped out the boob even though he'd just eaten to calm him. It worked but he still wouldn't go back down. Now he's passed out on my chest bc he needs a nap but I have a feeling it is fussy baby weekend
This is is when it really sucks being on my own for all baby care.
B is down for a nap and made it 5 minutes before screaming bloody murder and refusing to be consoled. This can't be my new normal I know it will get better eventually and it's just been this morning but he's been such a good sleeper lately it just kills me thinking we are going to regress.
@kvruns give it a week. With my daughter I remember all our transitions were sorted out by the end of a week. I know it sucks right now but it won't be like this forever. Hang in there!
Ugh B is screaming his head off for the last 30 min and I can't do anything for him bc he's upset about the swaddle situation. I've been up since 230 and know I won't be back to sleep at all today. I've turned on a movie and am letting him cry which sucks but me soothing him is doing nothing and seems to make it worse bc he's like why aren't you cuddling me.
I have a child that's been doing a little better at night lately.. he has been down for 3 hours? Right now, Maybe more now. His twin usually gave me 5 hour stretches but lately she has been just getting into screaming fits for no reason. She has one of those piercing banshee shrieks. Uhg.
my little guy is sleeping soooooo well at night even with his arms out now BUT once he is up in the morning he is up. Doesn't matter if it is 4am or 6am he will fight me putting him back to sleep and just cry and cry until I get him up. While I'm very happy with the sleep it is tough with him not going back to sleep, especially since once I'm back in the office I'll need him to at least chill while I get ready for work.
And we're back to being up way too often. What the heck?!?
So far he has woken at 10, 1, 1:30, 4, and now 4:30. I tried letting him soothe/cry it out on the half hours and he turned into a raging lunatic. And now I'm so dizzy the room is spinning. I need real sleep.
Oh no Poor guy... and poor MAMA! Hope your day got better.
I'm digging Westworld so far. I'm usually the annoying person who calls out what's about to happen I think Evan Rachel Wood is suuchhhh a good actress. I used to hate her though when I was a teen for breaking up Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese, haha! I feel a little bad watching it with LO because of all the violence, but usually she's napping when I watch. I think I'm on episode 6 or 7. @leighry@SandNStarsNJ

I watched five seasons of The Walking Dead with our first baby and when she got older (6 mo or so) and heard the opening music, she turned to the television. I never turned the television on again when she was in the room (still haven't and she's 2.5). And I especially avoid violence with her. Of course, I'm not doing any better this go-around. My current binge watch because I have nothing else to watch is The Originals. i had never heard of it and am embarrassed to say I'm hooked - definitely a guilty pleasure.
12:17. Was getting ready to settle in. Looked at my tracking app and saw my last pump was at 8 pm (fed her bottles tonight). She and DH are already both snoozing away... So I either wake up around 4 with uncomfortable melons or get my butt outta bed and go get the manual pump. Or say f it, use my regular pump and risk waking them up. BIG SIGH probably option 1.
At his 12:15 impromptu waking I opted to give him gas drops and put his fist near his mouth. Can you believe that's all it took? He was quietly passed out in 10 minutes. Of course his sister woke up 5 minutes later and he's up now eating but I'll take my tiny victories.
I'm currently feeling a strong sense of "what do I do all day?!?" mixed with "omg I have to go back to work so soon!" it's 1 am and I'm up doing pretty meaningless stuff like cleaning out my inbox, trying to catch up on my journals, thinking of her baby book... ugh! I'm thinking, why don't I do this during the day? What the heck am I doing? and I spent the evening in a job search rabbit hole. Because who doesn't think maternity leave is the right time to switch jobs!?! and now here I am, posting!
I'm awake but looks like you're 3 hours ahead. I'm tired and should be going to bed, but I'm online, again. I really should fold the mountain of clothes that so desperately need to be folded. Your post reminded me of my impending job search so I'll probably do that next instead of sleeping or the laundry.
B pretty much refuses to go back to bed after MOTN feedings. It coincided with having the swaddle his hands out. He takes forever to fall asleep and I have to rock him to sleep or he won't go down. Finally gave in bc he just wasn't falling asleep and I'm pumping and he's yelling. Ugh. 4am is too early to start the day kid
I'm thinking we've hit the 4-month sleep regression. DD's sleep patterns have definitely been different the last few days. First of all, it's nearly impossible to get her down for a nap and she ends up overtired and crying. Secondly, instead of waking up to nurse in the MOTN and going right back to sleep, she's staying awake and it's hard to get her back to sleep. Currently 4:30 am and she's nursed and now having a lively conversation with the ceiling fan. Ugh ...

quoting myself LOL. Put him down early for a nap and he made it a whopping 30 min and is screaming bloody murder. It's like he hates Fridays because this is a replica of last Friday. Ugh
After weeks of 3-4 hrs or less at a time, E gave us 8 hours last night, from 9-5! We've all been fighting the daycare cold she shared with us, and this sleep might just help us finally kick it.
And after eating from one overfilled boob, she's back asleep. I tried to get her to help a mother out with the second side, but she is apparently done. Sleep is good, but this boob needs some relief!
I went back to work last week Monday. That week went by awesome. We would put LO down between 7:30-8:00 and she would sleep until 4:30. I would feed her and put her back to sleep and then get ready for work and leave the house by 6:15. She would then sleep until 8 and H would get up with her and she would go down for a morning nap and he would get ready for work.
Now this week she has been getting up around midnight, 2:30, 6:00, and then finally 8:00 am. This is really inconvenient with our schedule. She will be 14 weeks on Sunday. I am wondering if it is the 4 month sleep regression phase. My other thought is she is in the 4th leap. She has been going through them about a week early consistently and it says this leap should start at 14 1/2 weeks.
Been there @hoosiermama. I think night time is our first baby free time and so our brains start going like crazy.
@mrsmoose5 I had the same experience for the last two weeks with the exception of last night but our LO will only be 3 mo tomorrow. I hope it ends sooner for you...
We had finally gotten down to one or two feedings a night with the first stretch going from 730-8ish to 2:30-3ish and then each additional feeding every two hours. But here I am writing this post at midnight which does not bode well for the rest of the night. Ugh. I have a feeling I'm going to be really glad I collapsed in bed at nine.
Im sooooo tired. My parents FL place is tiny and I'm sleeping lightly bc of anticipation of baby waking up plus i can't get comfortable and I can hear him moving around a ton (and worried about him since he's not in his normal sleep place). I hope it's just tonight and I settle better the rest of the week.
