  • No big plans yet. Might got to a LuLaRoe pop up because I really want Valentine's Day leggings.

Got an email from babies r us about the trade in event so might get a new car seat. Otherwise...nothing!
  • Really want to go downtown for the March but not sure that's a good idea with DD.  Although te marches here last night were really peaceful.
My neighborhood is having a "snow day" with sledding so will probably do that instead.  It's going to be about 74 today.
  • @theweevee hmm... tell me more about the snoogle! I don't know why I thought it was too early for pregnancy pillows. I can't get comfortable in bed anymore.

  • Toy Fest this weekend. We only keep toys in our living room so we have to keep a couple bins in the basement. Every couple of weeks when we rotate I bring them all up and ds plays with everything. The ones he's playing with the most stay upstairs.
Since we have to watch the playoff game tomorrow it's a great weekend for it. Oh and Go Packers!

  • @manillabar. I got this one: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/leachco-reg-snoogle-reg-chic-jersey-total-body-pillow-in-heather-grey/1042833666?skuId=42833666&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_bedding_&adpos=1o4&creative=43742631709&device=t&matchtype=&network=g&product_id=42833666&gclid=CKfhsJrJ09ECFcRgfgodpa0HRg

I am a stomach sleeper and it started to get uncomfortable last week.  Switched to my side and got horrible back and neck pain from trying to sleep.  So I gave in and bought one and didn't have high hopes...but at least at first is amazing for me.  Keeps me on my side but supports my head and neck so no pain.  Also keeps my leg up so my hips don't hurt.  And it's smaller than I thought it would be (fits in our queen size with no problem).  I'm 5'6" and have broad-ish shoulders, DH is 5'8"...so we're not giants but not crowded either.

  • Somehow I missed this thread @manillabar and started the same - do you want to add the date to the title?  I will change mine to something else.
  • Yesterday was my first day back at work after my bed rest.  I'm a teacher and my sub messed up my classroom and I ended up in tears by the end of the day. She rearranged the classroom (which I can fix), but it took me 45 minutes to find my pencil sharpener, which I'm pretty sure is broken since it was shoved in a cubby. She broke my candy container, which was a gift from a previous student, put my books (that I had hidden as gifts for my students) out on my shelf so the kids have used and ripped them. My yeti cup is missing and she busted into my locked cabinet and took out some plastic containers I didn't want used and now their handles are broken. My trash can is gone!  She used all my special incentive stickers that I had tucked away (they were only for 100 on tests), opened my brand new package of grading pens that were in my locked cabinet and now half are gone,  and returned the toys I had been given as gifts this year to the students. I had a really cute pencil set my husband had given me that said things like "I love you like..." "Hermione loves books, " "Dobby loves socks," "Ron loves  Quiditch" ect. They were in a cute paper display.  She threw away the display and sharpened/used/lost them.  I only have two used ones left,  the rest are gone.  Oh and one of my kids was out for a week for medical reasons and she threw away all his stuff including all his GT work because she assumed he wasn't coming back.

Sorry for the novel,  but I just can't believe someone would do all that.

Ohhh I have a car seat to trade in!!! I have been waiting to hear....maybe I missed the email?!
  • @lamphele oh my gosh I am so sorry! That is an absolute nightmare and I would be livid. Can you request that she never sub for you ever again? I know at my school there are a couple of subs on the "do not call unless absolutely necessary" list.

Oh my gosh?!?!?! I would be fuming. I'm so sorry. What kind of person does that?! Surly she knew that stuff belongs to YOU, not the school and most certainly not her!!!! Can you make a formal complaint with the principal and make sure she's on the 'do not call' list for subs??? I would have been sobbing. Teachers use so much of their own money and things from home! If I was a sub, I wouldn't touch anything! Basic respect.
  • lamphele said:
My principal is very angry too.  She had me make her a list and is bringing her back next week to let her know it was completely unacceptable and that she is no longer welcome at our school.
I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. I'm glad the principle is totally on your side. I would not be able to deal, I would freak out. How did she even think any thing she did would be okay. Complete disrespect. Hopefully you can get your classroom back to your liking, and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
  • @lamphele that is infuriating! On the bright side, the principal backs you up and validates you. Sub won't return. And your fellow bumpies are giving the sub the evil eye....

This weekend I actually have adult plans. A friend is having a birthday thing in a bar. I have a sitter ready. I can't drink but I love the food there and there's usually awesome live music so I have something to look forward to.

Tomorrow DH has a conference call. He doesn't work weekends. His boss sent everyone a meeting last night. How obnoxious.

Oh my gosh, how terrible! I'm so, so sorry you have to deal with that! I'm so glad your principle backed you on this. I wonder if there's a way to get the sub to replace the things of yours that she ruined. It's hard to believe that someone with so little respect for your things is someone who wanted to be a substitute teacher at all.
  • @lamphele what the actual fuck?! I'm surprised she didn't throw your personal things away too assuming you weren't coming back. That sucks so much since all your stuff was touched and moved. Feels very violating.

DD is currently at my parents for the night and I'm getting a pedicure and going to eat a shit ton of sushi. Loving all the women's march footage.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
  • Our nephew is having a birthday party this afternoon and I have to coach at a basketball game tonight. Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow but I'm secretly hoping it'll be absolutely nothing and I can lay in bed all day.

@lamphele omg I would be livid! I'm so sorry.  I hope you write it all down for sub review.  The sub sounds horrible!  Why go into a locked cabinet?  It's hard enough being out and having to come back to get the students back to where you want but having a sub like this makes it worse.   So sorry.
  • Today will be spent at home with just me, the husband and our daughter. Snacking, lounging, reading articles and watching march footage. Tomorrow we go to my in-laws---will be nice to have someone watch my daughter AND not to have to make dinner lol.

@lamphele that is just unfreakin believable. I'm right along with everyone here side-eyeing that sub!

DH and I are going out for date night for the first time in WAY too long.  Babysitter all lined up and I might get wild and crazy and wear heels.  So excited!

To anyone marching today- be safe and I'd love to hear stories about your day!

  • We decided to start my toddler at a Montessori school part time.  We have 2 nannies covering 45 hours a week.  So, we gave the newer nanny two weeks notice today.  We are keeping our other nanny who has taken care of our son since he was 4 months old - she is my emergency contact if anything were to come up and more importantly she loves our son.  I'm not overly fond of the nanny we let go but she is dependable, does a very good job, and DS has lots of fun when she is here.  I feel horrible - it sucks to take away someone's livelihood and I just hope she finds a new job soon!

Anyways, she was so crestfallen when we told her, we walked her out to the door and completely forgot to pay her.  I texted her that we can bring the money to her later today and she just texted me back to say she can meet us as soon as her husband gets her as she ran out of gas on the way  home and is stranded. Like WTF! How is she having the shittiest day ever!  And who runs out of gas?!? And why do I somehow feel responsible?  What is happening in my mind? Ugh!!!
  • Today has been a tad overwhelming. My mom is having trouble remembering what day it is, she's talking about things that happened 3-4 years ago as if they're current. She doesn't seem to have a handle on her memory. I've suspected Alzheimer's for a while now, but my siblings didn't believe me, and today they finally saw what I was talking about. She lives alone and is fiercely independent and very stubborn. Two of my sisters already booked flights for tonight and are flying over to help her and bring her here to the Washington DC area since 3 out of the 5 of us siblings live in this area and can help take care of her.

I expect my mom is going to give them a really hard time, and I don't know what is going to happen. It's all very overwhelming, though comforting to know that my siblings and I will all work together.
  • This weekend I'm resting up. This is my second cold and I'm only 13 weeks. Any tips?  The first cold was over New Years and hit me like a freight train. At least my cyst has gone down. *Wait this isn't the morning thread, sorry*

A Macys by me is going out of business so I've been peaking in and buying a few baby things here and there as they're marked down. I also am looking for new furniture and a recliner for the nursery. I'm not a fan of gliders so hopefully I can find something I like.

@lamphele I'm sorry the substitute destroyed your classroom. I mean, who does that?  Hopefully you can get it back in order soon.
  • You guys can side eye me all you want on sushi and cold cuts, etc. I don't mind!! I just become much more selective when pregnant about where I eat it from. Non-pregnant id probably eat sushi from a gas station.
No side eye here! I'm going to my favorite sushi spot right now because your earlier post made me crave it. Although I mainly like the cooked and veggie rolls anyway, pregnant or not.

  • @supermom83 I'm so sorry - that must be very overwhelming.  It is sad to see our parents get old.  All the best that the transition goes more smoothly than you expect.  It certainly will be better to have her by all of you.
  • @supermom83 I'm sorry, that is so difficult to deal with. Hopefully your mom will agree to move closer to you guys so that you can help take care of her. Hang in there mama!
  • @dancegurl1118. My ob said raw sushi is fine as long as it's a good quality place. So yeah, no gas station or supermarket sushi. I used to eat the spicy tuna rolls from our Japanese-style 7-11s as a beach snack.

DH listens to Dr. Google though and is still nervous about me eating raw fish. We had agreed that once I'm in the second trimester, I can revisit my favorite salmon sashimi bowl place for lunch. But then there was that story recently about finding tapeworms in salmon so DH is freaked out all over again.
