Our house is so dry. DH has been shocking everything. Last night he walked by me and somehow shocked my nipple through my T-shirt. I mean OW. Not my kind of foreplay.

@kahlan82 Your post just made me shudder with sympathy pains! Ouch! How does that even happen?!

The roads are still so icy in Raleigh. Why does NC not clear our roads so that we can function after a snow storm??? Looks like I won't be working today.

@kahlan82 my house is so dry too! This winter is killing me. I just bought a humidifier because I can't sleep at night with my stuffy nose and dry mouth. Really hoping that makes things easier.

@wifeinraleigh28 Icy here too and too cold to take DS out in it today. Roads here in Burlington got cleared but the back road still are still bad. No school today and probably not tomorrow. I can't believe it is supposed to be 70 by Friday.

@kahlan82 I saw that... we go from 8 degrees to 70 in less than a week. And people say climate change is a hoax.

Count me in on the dry house problem - DD called me in at midnight since her nose was stuffed and she had drank all of the water in her "bed water" cup. Poor thing has been fighting a cold for a few weeks and it's just stuck in there...

Dry house here, too! Lately I've been turning the thermostat down lower than usual and that seems to help a bit.

Poor DD has a monster cold...she does have a humidifier running in her room, but when she got up today there was dried snot all over her crib mattress, and her nose is running like crazy.  Poor thing.  Saturday night she was up crying almost every hour, and all day yesterday she was a complete mess, but she at least slept through last night.  I'm pretty sure it's just a cold, she is acting normally this morning and has no fever, but she did barf up her entire morning bottle all over me yesterday so who knows.  If this is a stomach bug I will definitely have it soon, and I will not be impressed.

Dry house here!! I wake up with a bloody nose most mornings. We have a humidifier in our heater and in all rooms.

I am so stuffed up and have been drinking so much water at night. I'm still working on getting over a cold that's been lingering but I hadn't even thought about dryness in the house contributing to my issues! I think it's time to invest in a humidifier.

Dry here too which is making my throat scratchy.
And constipation. I took 2 dulcolax one day and it did nothing. Then I took 3 the next, and I woke up in a cold sweat, with severe cramps. I felt like I wanted to die.

I just stumbled across a show on TLC called Extreme Births....It is probably going to give me anxiety! Good thing there is only 15 minutes left

ETA: OMG This lady's baby is growing on the OUTSIDE of the uterus. And Dr's didn't figure that out until 34 weeks! WTF?!

I have 13 team meetings this week at work and I want to cry.  1 down, 12 to go.  My meeting calendar is so full if one more parent calls to reschedule I'm going to lose my mind.

I'm also dealing with a dry house!  Yuck!

I have a ridiculous amount of work to be done and all I want to do is NOT WORK.

Also, we don't have cable and we just use Netflix & Hulu, which is fine most of the time, but sometimes I want to watch something live. I wanted to watch the Golden Globes last night, pretty much just because I love Jimmy Fallon, and I couldn't find it live streaming anywhere. Annoying.

Boo to the snow accumulation. I'm in the Idaho Panhandle, and we haven't had a winter like this in the 6 years I've lived here. Usually it snows and melts off, snows and melts off. The slush is gross and it can get icy, but it's doable.

This year we have been getting crazy dumps of snow followed by weeks of single digit temps. The snow birms from the plows are about to turn my street into a single lane. Nothing has melted since our first snow in December. I hate it!

I may have slightly underestimated the power of a fetal doppler.... just got mine yesterday and I'm obsessed... I would listen to her heartbeat all day if it didn't make me seem like a paranoid person lol

@BellaO21 I want a fetal Doppler... but I would be like you and wanting to listen al the time... so I'm just resisting getting one.  I just am looking forward to being able to feel him move to get that he's ok in there!

This RLP is going to be the end of me! It hurts to stand, it hurts to sit. The only relief I've gotten is a warm bath.

Question for STM+ .... bottles, is it all about baby's preference mostly? I know there are different ones depending on pumping and bags and such but other than that, is there really a "good" way to go?

This, we have areas designated to put the snow removed from the city during snowstorms.  We got to the point 2 years ago where we were running out of room in the designated areas and still had to dump some in the harbor (which is avoided because of the pollution from the dirty snow/salt/sand from treating the roads).

@rmarble23 I think it's a combination of baby preference and your preference.  Some people swear by Dr. Brown's bottles.  I personally hated them.  There were too many little pieces, and the tan pieces that go on top of the blue insert I found were constantly developing little black mold spots (which after googling I found out was a common problem).  DS was fine with anything, but I switched to Avent Born Free bottles and found they were much easier to use in terms of cleaning and number of parts to worry about.

I'm registering for Dr. Brown's Options bottles just because that's what I know! My nanny kids all have/had them and my friend's kids did too and I helped out with them a lot when I lived there. Some people hate all the parts but I'm used to washing them. Hopefully this baby likes them as much as I do!!

@awillis13 I used the Avent bottles as well and liked them so much better than the Dr.Browns.

@rmarble23 I read all these articles about the different benefits of different bottles, but my DD really didn't appear to have a preference.

Has anyone done the Bradley Method class? How much did it cost?

We used/use Dr. Brown's - it's all we ever tried, so no clue if DS would have preferred something else. I never have had a mold issue and don't mind all of the parts. Since that's all we've used, cleaning all the pieces is just part of the bottle-washing routine for me!

@rmarble23 my son we used avent and they were alright, for my daughter we switched to tomee tippee and really loved them.  They are just the nipple, bottle and ring that holds the nipple so not a lot of pieces and easy to clean.  We will probably be doing those again this time around.  It was also easy to switch between those and nursing.

@rmarble23 we used Medela bottles without issues. This made it easy bc I pumped right into them and then sent them the next day to daycare. This cut way down on bottle cleaning. Also they are very easy to clean. That being said my son only had 3 bottles max a day bc at home he only wanted straight from the tap so Im not sure he had enough opportunity to get a bottle preference. He was too busy having a boob preference. ;-)
The three other people I know closely with babies all used Medela bottles without issues also.

I hated the dr. Browns! 
My first ultimately stuck to avent.
my second we similac bottles (they don't make them anymore but if they did I would have used them again) 
and my third we decided to go back to avent but spring for the glass version because I somehow became crunchy in there   and I also wanted to hang onto them knowing we'd want another - ironically she refused bottles because we EBF so we have all those brand new unused glass bottles waiting for this babe.

We also used the Dr Brown bottles and DD would hardly even have a burp after. We saw this as a win. We boiled our parts every other night and never had any mold on any of the pieces. The Mr handled all the boiling. He felt it was his contribution since I was doing all the pumping.

As for DDs preference, the Mr was just determined that she HAD to take those bottles. He was single parent all week while I was at work. He viewed it as "you will take this bottle or you will starve, kid". Luckily DD was a little piggy and she got over her boob preference prettY quickly.

Team work makes the dream work!!

Change of subject but I need to rant. We found out baby #3 is DD #3. EVERY person we told their first reaction was "o I'm sorry". Or "o man, how's (dh)?" 

He's FINE. It's a female, not the end of the world. Having a girl actually makes my life easier. 3 girls born in June. I see lots of big birthday extravaganzas in our future.

@awoodruff27 I'm sorry people suck! I got the same reaction when we found out we were having a second boy, and then when we finally found out #3 was a girl we waited until we knew before we announced our pregnancy because I didn't want to hear "what if you have another boy?!"

This is only baby #2 but it makes our second boy. Even so, I continue to get "ohhhh man, you're out numbered now" or "better start watching ESPN" or "they're going to break everything". 

I am HAPPILY "out numbered" and, people, it's two boys, not two ferocious lions. Just shut it people. I don't get the mindlessnsss of people's comments.

@awoodruff27 I'm having DS3 and I am specifically only telling friends that I know won't react like morons and refuse to do any social media as I have a friend from high school that announced her DS3 (of 3) and the responses were horrific... she was thrilled and happy for another baby but people are so ridiculous.  I saw that play out less than a year ago so I'll be 'that girl' that just has another child show up and people better keep their stupid comments to themselves!!
