Oh wow...I just noticed that April already had their first birth! I feel like we just found out...
Oh my goodness. I hope nobody here gives birth until minimum March! I'm counting down until v-day so I can relax even more. It sounds like the twins are doing well so far though, as well as mom. I'm totally rooting for them!
Agreed! I know technically viability for me will be the end of January but I can just not even imagine having a baby so soon. My nephew was born at 30 weeks so that's my mental goal (point I can semi relax) as I know a little more of what to expect just from personal experience.
I've been following along with the March mom that delivered at 25? weeks. I'm glad to hear these twins are doing well!
Another March mom had her little girl at 24 weeks. I've been following her on FB. So tiny!
That's then mom I've been following on Facebook! I couldn't remember if she was 24 or 25 weeks.
Is this a public account or did you know her already? I'm a sucker for a good little NICU baby story/pics to follow! @KMD1106@H&pmomma
So when did viability become 24 weeks? It is so comforting that it is so close, even though obviously we'd all rather them stay as long as possible. I thought it was 30 weeks or something when I was pregnant with DD but I keep seeing people talk about vday at 24 weeks.
@bacorrea I've never heard of the 24 hour urine catch. I wonder if my dr will have me do that. She doesn't seem too concerned that it'll come back this time which has me very hopeful it won't. Not sure how early they would induce you if so. FX that neither of us get it again!
@Jkp7749 "24 weeks is the cutoff point for when doctors will use intensive medical intervention to attempt to save the life of a baby born prematurely"
I've never had a wax though I want one. I need to get the courage to just do it. I use an electric trimmer to keep it under control and sometimes a razor if I want to be extra diligent. I've been doing it by touch or looking in a mirror because I can no longer see that area unless I really push on my belly.
@bacorrea I had severe pre-e with DS1. I did a 24 hour urine catch with DS2 around 24weeks to get some base numbers. DS2 was born at 36 weeks because my bp was starting to skyrocket, but I did not develop pre-e with him, just PIH. This pregnancy, I did the 24 hour catch at around 12 weeks for base numbers. We are hoping I can make it to at least 37weeks this time around.
@Jkp7749 this is the chart I've seen most often and you can see 24 weeks is when the chance of survavil increase pretty drastically. Probably because like PP said doctors will start doing medical interventions at this point.
@Jkp7749 24 weeks is the standard of when doctors will attempt life saving methods if the baby is born, but there are some (although very few) doctors that will attempt at 23 or even 22 weeks now.

@KMD1106@ShadeofGreen816 - DS wanted a snack at 5am this morning, and before I went back to sleep I looked up Ansley's page. Cue all. the. tears. I'm glad she's a fighter, but mama's birth story broke my heart!
I know technically vday is 24 weeks but I know last time I didn't really breathe a little easier until 28 weeks. I don't envy anyone that has to walk that micro preemie road and make those tough decisions. Those mommas/families are so strong.
Just throwing out there in the case anyone might miss me - tomorrow is the first day of classes for this spring semester. So I will probably be primarily a lurker from my bed at night as long as I can stay awake for the next month or two (I front-loaded a lot of my hours to prevent any complications if this girl decides to make an earlier than planned entrance!). So I'm good - and I'll try to participate as my outlet from school but don't worry about me. And I wouldn't want to miss any Hogwarts invitations should they go out via owl!
Ugh I'm so dreading it. Counting the days until my final May 3rd. And that this little peanut keeps her butt comfortably (for me!) inside my ute until then! Preferably until after my graduation on May 14th

My finals aren't over until May 8th, my family is still saying I am crazy for going to school this semester. I started back after our last FET failed and I just assumed my shop was closed, thankfully I'm not due until the 20th so I have a little bit of time. I'm telling myself that the classes I am taking should be fairly easy this semester..... Hopefully
