Happy Tuesday, ladies! Feels like we were just here...this month is flying, I tell ya...

How far along are you? 19 weeks!

How big is baby? A hot dog (according to my siggy) or a mango

Appointments this week? Many. I had one with my NP yesterday for itching, more on that below in symptoms, anatomy scan and MFM appointment tomorrow, OB appointment on Thursday. A little bit overkill...

Sex of Baby? This little squirt is a girl! 

Symptoms? Itching started up last Thursday--think extreme chickenpox-like itching. All over. And eventually hives. I called the doctor because I had cholestasis the last pregnancy, so now they are monitoring my liver functions and some results already seem high. I guess we'll just keep monitoring until it gets closer. Good news is, the itching is gone thanks to Zyrtec! 

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing much...I just still feel really indecisive about most things related to this pregnancy. I can't even pick a paint color for her room. Insanity. I think once we nail down the name and start referring to her by name, it will get easier to connect. I remember that's how it seemed to happen with DS. 

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? This is a tough one...I haven't been super thrilled about the pregnancy thing this go around. But I think it would have to be talking to my son about his impending new little sister. Some of the things he says are so hilarious...example: I was wearing a bird sweater a few days ago and he pointed at the bird and said "birdie is friends with baby sister!" ADORABLE.

How far along are you? 19 weeks (Wow)

How big is baby? Mango or sweet potato

Appointments this week? None.

Sex of Baby? (saw this on the Monday ticker and thought it was a prime time to add it!) Baby boy #2

Symptoms? I think, SI joint pain. There is this spot between my lower back and buttock that is intermittently sore. It usually starts after I've been standing for s long time (like when cooking - which apparently I've been doing lately) or siting on the floor playing with S. Also, insomnia and hip pain. Ugh. 

Rant/Rave/Questions? I think I may have an anterior placenta. I feel like I feel baby boy's movements but they're a bit muted?? My anatomy scan isn't until the 28th but I have an appt this Monday... not sure if the NP is scanning this time again... but I need to remember to ask. 

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? I guess that it has been pretty similar to my previous although everything happening a bit earlier. I keep thinking this may be my last which is making me a bit sad because I haven't been focused on it as much. Maybe when I have my big beach ball belly again I will. I really enjoyed that the last time. I also am really enjoying how excited H is and how he gets S into it. He's only 16 months so not sure how much he understands but when he points to my belly and we tell him there's a baby in there, he smiles. He'll also kiss it.

@Kipperoo glad the Zyrtec has taken away the itching and that they're monitoring your liver function! We had a young mom pregnant at 12 weeks that needed to have a cholecystectomy done. I was maybe 9 weeks at the time and was asking the surgeon TONS of questions. Luckily, I was working the the only coworker I told at the time. 

That's  awesome that your son knows what's going on. So cool he's gonna have a little sis. I'm quite excited mine will have a built in buddy so close in age.

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? nothing right now.

How far along are you? 17 weeks

How big is baby? Pomegranate

Appointments this week? None. Had two last week (hematology and OB) and 10 vials of blood taken. I am already so sick of blood draws. 

Sex of Baby? Scan is scheduled for the 30th! I am certain it is a boy. 

Symptoms? Extremely exhausted, but happy that is all. 

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing much. I wish my Christmas shopping was done. I just want to show up at home from work with all the presents purchased, wrapped, and ready to go to the respective places. Is that too much to ask??

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? This is a hard one. I feel everything is so muted this time around. Last time everything was a first, so very exciting. Getting a positive test may be the best part so far. Actually, maybe my favorite part is that it is more muted this time around. The excitement and pressure last time got to me and would make me very nervous. DS was the first grandchild for both sides, so it was a constant topic of conversation. Because we went through it once already, we get to skip a lot of the probing conversations with family which is nice.

lower back pain and pain in my hips. 
Rants/Raves/Questions?
I know it's early to be thinking about but are any STM taking a child birth class this go around? Also any of you who have taken the class did you find it super helpful for when the time came? DH and I are deciding weather to or not since we didn't with #1. I had a CS with my first and if things go as planned I'll have a VBAC.
GTKY: what's been your favorite thing about this pregnancy so far?
my favorite thing so far is that DD seems to understand there is a baby in my belly and is always wanting to kiss it. Super sweet!!!

Eek! I'm hoping I don't need any kind of surgery while this baby is still inside. Right now, they are talking about possibly putting me on a drug that controls the bile acids. And then I would likely have an induction at 36 weeks (which is something we knew all along due to my history of cholestasis). But I guess we'll just wait and see. I'm just leaving it up to the professionals vs. me + Dr. Google.

@Kipperoo totally didn't share that story to scare you or suggest you'll need one. Just wanted to share that it is common and mom and baby were fine. (And I apparently left the most important part out).

@mrsrep123, totally didn't read it that way! Haha...I know these things are always so different from person to person. I'm hoping there is no need for anything beyond medication, but (as with most things in pregnancy) I'm headed into uncharted waters. Great to hear that both mom and baby are doing well though!! Gives me hope if this turns out to be a bigger deal than I think it is!

Symptoms? Major insomnia. Lots of RLP. I'm having heartburn for the first time in my life which has been interesting. I'm seeing my physiotherapist which is really helping with the back and sciatic pain.

Rant/Rave/Questions? None! just really excited for the anatomy scan next week

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? Seeing my belly grow makes it seem more real now. I'm really looking forward to feeling kicks, but I have an anterior placenta so it may take a little longer.

How far along are you? 16 weeks

How big is baby? Avocado (though I'm also liking the Batman action figure in my Ovia app).

Appointments this week? I had an u/s on Monday to check cervical length. Everything was good! And it was great to see the baby again.

Sex of baby? Girl!

Symptoms? Knock on wood, but symptoms have been pretty low key this week. I *maybe* felt some flutters?

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm very in between with clothes right now, and I only have a couple pairs of maternity jeans I like (from last time). I'm having a hard time finding pants that fit me well that don't cost a fortune. Until then, helloooo leggings!

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? Even though I just complained about this above, I do like that I'm showing earlier. I didn't need maternity clothes with my first pregnancy until the halfway point. Having a little bump earlier helps the pregnancy seem more real to me.

Appointments this week? I had 20-ish week appt today. My blood pressure had been elevated (it was often borderline pre-pregnancy) at all previous prenatal appointments but today it was much better! Hoping it continues.

Sex of Baby? Boy! I had convinced myself it was going to be a girl, so I was completely shocked (and still thrilled of course) when she told us it's a boy!

Symptoms? Fatigue; I had 1-2 weeks of feeling really energized around the start of the 2nd trimester but that didn't seem to last long. I've also been feeling him move around a ton the last 2-2.5 weeks. Lots of congestion, some of which I attribute to allergies/sinuses. Hip pain, especially when I've had a really active day at work.

Rant/Rave/Questions? Nothing really, but I've been trying to train myself to sleep on my side at night. I was always a side sleeper pre-pregnancy but I seem to feel more comfortable (at least at this stage) when I'm on my back. I wake up on my back about half the time and have to reposition - hopefully that'll change as my belly grows.

GTKY: What's been your favorite thing about pregnancy this far? This is my first pregnancy, so every new sensation and ultrasound has been amazing to me. My favorite thing so far has been when I began feeling him move.

@Kipperoo so sweet! It always melts my heart to hear my nieces/nephew talk about the baby, I can't imagine how sappy I'd be if it was my kid!
@MrsFox2008 I haven't signed up for any classes yet, but I plan to just for my own peace of mind.
@lilylover27 My placenta is low-lying, too, but my OB doesn't seem too concerned about it at this stage. I'm wondering if it's shifted anteriorly though because the baby's movements seem more muted ( @Louise_Belcher I couldn't figure out how to describe to my OB today - but that's it!) over the last week or so.
