My mom is asking what I want for Christmas and I'm debating asking for a pregnancy pillow... anyone use one or recommend any brands? With my last 2 pregnancies I just used a crapload of pillows to prop up because I get terrible heartburn and put a bunch between my legs, etc. I keep hearing great things about pregnancy pillows but never a certain brand. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few out there.

I actually recently had to toss it because my cat peed on it. So I've just been using a regular body pillow and to be totally honest I kind of like it better than the giant pregnancy pillow that I had.

Random side note- when you make your bed, what do you do with the giant pillow? It looks really weird both on top of and underneath the blankets. I know it really doesn't matter, because no one sees our bed anyway, but I'm wondering if I'm just missing something!
Edited to fix the chopped sentence and to add, ignore my sloppy bedskirt, we're getting a proper fitting one soon and the bed is lumpy because I just threw it on to take a pic (not for here, for a FB post about my dumb nightstands)

I leave it under the covers haha no one comes in our room but us so I figured it doesn't really matter! If I make the bed really nice then I will put it on top just so the covers are even...a little OCPD!

I agree with it being annoying to have to reposition pillows when you toss and turn.
Another thing that worked for me last time that is worth mentioning -- I got a foam mattress topper and then doubled it up on my "side" of the bed (DH wanted nothing to do with it, and then that gave me double thickness.) I found this helped my SPD quite a bit. IMO the worst part of SPD is sleeping. For both pregnancies I was sleeping in a chair (like the nursing chair) by the end of the pregnancy. Lying down was too painful. We got rid of that chair when we moved so I'm telling DH we NEED a new chair before this pregnancy gets too far along!
Now I just use a regular body pillow and it's a little annoying. But it's small enough to not be a pain in my ass. I didn't toss and turn towards the end of my last pregnancy as much because it was just too hard!

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.

But the true enlightenment from this thread is that it's pretty common to not make your bed and that is SUCH a relief. I've always had this vague guilty "you are a bad adult" feeling so it's great to learn I'm not a monstrous outlier!

Check out this link on the pros & cons on the different shapes. This will be my first time using a maternity pillow, so let me know what you all think.
The U shaped pillow definitely seems like a winner to me (minus the price).
