I'm sitting in a hospital waiting room ( mom in surgery) trying to <discretely> nurse DS. He keeps pulling my nursing cover off, kicking his feet, and making loud sucking or mmhmmmm noises... I'm not shy nor embarrassed by nursing in public, but do try to be respectful of others. DS was having none of it. He was proudly and loudly enjoying his meal!!
Quick rant: 1) stop asking me when I'm having another baby. Let me enjoy this one. Let me learn to parent this one. Let me get over the trauma of having this one!!!!
2) I know you mean well, but don't force your parenting tips on me. Just because YOUR kid had a hell of a time breaking his thumb-sucking habit doesn't mean you should pull my baby's thumb out of her mouth! We don't even know you like that!!! And let my doctor be the authority on what and when I feed her.
So I'm the opposite of @KASG and I have baby fever! I am jealous of my 2 friends who are about to have babies and I find myself thinking about baby number 2 A LOT! I am going to talk to my midwife at my 6 month appointment and hopefully she can convince me to wait until Q is 1 year old. I'm not ever sure I could get pregnant because I haven't had a period yet. DH and I always wanted to have kids close together, but this close is crazy right? Ugh am I crazy?
@arhodes6 I'm with you. My brother and SIL just told us they're expecting and I have major baby fever right now. At the same time I don't know how I'd manage two. I think I just miss being pregnant. I should have relaxed and embraced it more when I was.
You aren't crazy!! I feel the same way! I am constantly thinking about our second. I can't wait for her to be a big sister! We decided to keep waiting but I totally know how you feel.
Haha I'm super excited about number 2 also! I would not be mad to get pregnant soon. Though I also am cherishing this time with my one, so I think I can wait awhile if I need to. I think DH has baby fever though...ever since P was born he's been talking about having a big family with lots of kids.

I'm glad I'm not crazy! And all of you ladies are having the same conflicting thoughts that I am. I want to get pregnant again so badly! But do I just miss being pregnant? Can I handle 2 right now? Can I be a good mom to the one I have if I were pregnant right now? These thoughts go through my mind daily! My DH last night told me just stop taking my birth control and we will see what happens, but I had a little freak out when he said that. I think we will wait for a few more months. I think
I'm excited about #2, but we already agreed to wait the 18 months recommended by APA/OB. So right now, I'm with @KASG. Leave me alone about it.
And s we have a thumb sucker, too. He HATES pacifiers and likes his thumb. If someone actually touched my kid to control him from a non-dangerous behavior (I'd be furious). Feel free to go mama bear on their a$$
My rant, especially with all of the parties and being around so many people lately (which I really just want to stay home and hang out with my kid) is people coming up and immediately taking my baby to hold her saying that they'll give me a break from her...umm. I don't want a break from her. I work all week, see her a few hours in the evening...I want to see her. I want to hold her. I want to mother her. I don't need or want a break.
I'm also soooooo over the " when you having the next one?" .... like, I just had one 5 months ago can I enjoy my mat leave with her before I think about that. Also my vagina doesn't want to think about another one right now .. lol
My daughters are 2 1/2 years apart and no one ever asked us when we were going to have the next one. It's crazy to me how rude some people are!
I love this age difference. DD1 was potty trained and out of the crib before DD2 was born. Plus I had a c-section with DD1 so it was nice to give my body the whole 18 months of healing time before we started trying again. I was so tired in the beginning of my pregnancy, it was nice that DD1 was mostly sleeping through the night! I needed that sleep. Also I loved those years of just being with DD1. When DD1 starts school, DD2 will be 3, so I'll then have 2 1/2 years with only her at home. I kind of like that
My husband and I would love to have another one now, but we just bought a 2 bedroom condo in the city and daycare is crazy expensive. If money and leave were not a concern I would have another one now. We are going to wait until C is 18 months, therefore we enjoy our time as a family of 3 and my body can fully recover from the first pregnancy and maybe I can finish my masters program
@kmurdock925 that drives me CRAZY! I was at SIL's bridal shower a couple weeks ago and people were taking E from me to "give me a break." I was in a mood where I just wanted to hold her and snuggle her, and one lady stole her from me twice without even asking. Maddening.
I also have baby fever. We were going to be TTC this spring/summer, but unfortunately have been having some financial problems and now probably have to wait longer I am super bummed.

I have to say I had super bad baby fever before finding out I was pregnant. I'm super excited to see what the baby will be like and look like. I am terrified of being able to handle two so close together, but plenty of moms have twins so I mean it's doable. At least that's how I talk myself down from my panic. I look forward to them being close in age and hopefully being best friends. I would have rather waited, but this is going to be fun!

@schaze nausea and tiredness set in this weekend. Pretty sure I would have figured out I was pregnant for sure by now if my dr hadn't ran my test before. I flip flop between panic and excitement a lot. The fear of the unknown is what gets me.
After having twins... we are MORE than done. We always wanted two, and we just happened to get them at the same time! But people always say "oh boy/girl twins! You're done now!", which we are, but plenty of people go on to have more children after twins, so why assume we're done?
Anyone else who just can't sleep?! It takes me an hour to fall asleep and I wake up multiple times a night. E sleeps 12 hour stretches now. I should be enjoying this! But instead I am exhausted.

Yes. DS is up every 3 hours but I struggle sleeping during those stretches. I lay there staring at him or the clock or daydreaming about breakfast lol. We (moms) have a lot on our minds so I am sure it has something to do with that. Racing thoughts, the holidays quickly approaching...
@shaylalr Yes. I keep waking up for like 1 to 2 hour stretches. She has started sleeping through the night most nights lately. I just wake up and need to check in on her.
I'm not sure if there is a big secret to it or not! I did sleep training at 4 months, and I make sure she eats all of her calories during the daytime. She eats approximately 6oz 5x a day. Once she started eating more during the day than during the night, she just suddenly slept 12 hours. It's been almost 2 weeks now of consistent sleep. I do try and pump around 2am if I wake up and I am uncomfortable.
Omg. I want to scream - a half hour into a lovely crib nap - USPS knocks on the door for an Amazon delivery, dog goes crazy, baby is now awake. Here's to hoping her self soothing skills in the evening work now.

@shaylalr I think you're onto something with the sleep training and then making sure all calories are during the day. I've noticed that he sleeps longer stretches already since starting sleep training and when he eats more during the day, he sleeps better at night, too.
Caved and bought gripe water today. DS is not sleeping due to gas pain, momma isn't sleeping due to baby not sleeping, momma isn't a pleasant person during the day. I am also impatiently waiting for our amber teething necklace to arrive. Seriously I need sleep and my happy baby back.
@DachshundMomma I hope it helps!! We hate the idea of giving her anything outside breastmilk/formula so I can understand where you're coming from...but the gas issues forced us into it too. Hopedully it's a short term problem and you can ease back off it. Until teething comes, lol! I don't know if we can avoid OTC items for teething. At least I wasn't willing to try, lol!
@schaze that's what I bought too. No luck with it tonight but I only gave him a half dose incase there was a negative reaction. We got up less though, so that's a good thing haha. The gas was less during our wake ups so i think it helped with that part of the issue. Usually he would toot up a storm while night feeding. Pediatrician said it's because he relaxes during that time so it all comes out. Combined with teething, it's just all a mess of screams and tears.
@TiffRox81 definitely not a fan of giving anything other than breastmilk but it is what it is. The amber necklace came last night so I will try it in the morning. I'm really hopeful. I've never seen DS in so much pain discomfort. My poor little dude. He's cutting 3 teeth that I can see, the two front bottom and then a lateral incisor on the bottom. That sucker is early lol.
