Another friendly reminder - 10 days until Thanksgiving!!
I know! SO is flying over for Thanksgiving. DD doesn't know yet, originally we thought we would next have a visit for Christmas, but hey, you only live once, right? She is going to FLIP when he goes to pick her up at DC.
I'm super excited for next week! And this week too! Tonight is our first birthing class and Saturday family is coming over to help with the nursery (yay!) I've been working on unpacking boxes from moving and organizing so they can go into the attic, which is also helping me get the rest of the house organized. I just wish I could get things done faster because time seems to fly by before I feel like I've done anything.
Then on Sunday I'm going to get my food prepped for Thanksgiving (which we're doing the dinner on Wednesday), next Monday night another birthing class, H has Monday and Tuesday off, I'm taking off on Tuesday at lunch for us to leave for the mountains!! So excited to get away for a little bit!
Hi!!!!! This is my weekly.. I am a bad bish and never seem to find time to be around... sorry! I hope all it going well for you all.
So you all know I was planning on skimming off the top of the grocery bill for an ipad for DH, well I have been doing that. I almost got caught by DH cause I was keeping the cards in a sunglass bag in my car console, and of coarse he wanted to wipe his glasses and picked it up... urgh... so I moved the cards somewhere else and now I can't remember where!!!!! FML....
This could go go under MBF but is more a tale of woe... So I put it here.
H's knee has swollen to the size of a cantaloupe. He couldnt walk yesterday and today he went to the dr. He has fluid under his knee cap and cant work until Friday. They have him on steroids, anti-inflamatory meds, gout medication and this one medication that is supposed to flush out his system. He is so out of it, poor thing, and can't walk at all. They said this is a stress-induced gout attack (his gout has previously been held in check by diet and exercise.)
So he's staying with his family til he gets back on his feet (literally) while I'm out of town for work. Our friend is going to stay with the dog.
We're okay and he's going to be fine but damn we did not need this right now :-(
@Gretchypoo that is rough. I feel like every time I go out of town for work, either H or the dogs have some fluke event that is a total cluster. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, and glad people can come to your rescue! Fingers crossed a quick mend for H and an uneventful work trip!
The day after Halloween someone broke into cars in my neighborhood. I honestly don't know if my doors were locked or not because getting home is like a 15 minute process of my kid hitting every button in my car.
They took my diaper bag and i thought my sunglasses and my kids sunglasses. Then my diaper bag ended up in my neighbors bushes with nothing gone, my sunglasses between some couch cushions and my kids were in H's car.
Ugh that's so annoying @PerraSucia. That happens in our neighborhood all the time. Last time they took a ratty old backpack H used for work that was totally empty.
Sorry your H is feeling so poorly right now @Gretchypoo! My FIL has issues with gout in his feet and it's apparently such awful pain when you get an attack.... I really feel for him. Hope the meds do their thing quickly and he feels better soon.

Thanks all, he's feeling better today and now the struggle is keeping him down! He was all " I'm thinking about going to AT&T to..." NO! Rest, you idiot! ;-)
I have been watching Outdaughtered on TLC all day (couple with quintuplet girls). OMG. I don't know if I feel like one baby will be easy or if I am totally horrified
@leslie1331 I love that show but I honestly don't understand how the mom handles everything! After the babies got slightly older she was basically on her own all day?! I give her so much respect. I think I'll be overwhelmed with just my one, let alone 5 babies plus a 4 year old
Yes. yes. Yes. At DC pickup my daughter lasts about two seconds before requesting a snack. If we're not going straigh home I am popping out a bag of those with no regrets whatsoever. I do not need whining while running errands.
+1 to your parent's dog being treated like royalty. My "sister" has her own closet with a seasonal wardrobe and a stroller.
@Jab3 Thanks! He is still having trouble walking and is on his parent's couch but the swelling has gone down significantly. I get home today so idk when he'll come home.
My coworker and I just met with our supervisor to go over the game plan for when I'm out on leave. We weren't sure if there would be coverage for me since I work in a specialty area, but we found out that the lady I replaced when she retired (who was also my internship mentor) will be filling in! My coworker and I are so happy! I won't even be here, but I'm super glad that everyone will be in good hands while I'm gone!
I really don't understand the idea of a dog stroller. Mine has so much energy he wouldn't sit in it and he needs to actually walk to burn it off!
My dog is the same way but he is a 40 lb German Shepherd/ Terrier. They have a 7 lbs Pekapoo. They originally got the stroller bc my dad has leukemia and was in the hospital for several weeks. We would take her in the stroller to visit my dad (obviously away from the leukemia ward.) Now they use it so she can come to festivals or stores with them and not get stepped on by the crowds.
PS- This is me sneaking a f*cking dog into the hospital. You can't see him smile under the mask but it totally made my dad feel better to see her #worthit
Hey do you guys think we should get a Labor Thread and Birth Announcement thread going and pinned? I noticed January got theirs started the first week of October, and some of the earliest due members on the board are about 29/30 weeks along now.

Part of me is afraid that if we post it, we'll need it, but I'm weird like that.

Side note, my neighbor has a reddish wiener dog and the other day I thought to myself, that's a spicy wiener.
They took my diaper bag and i thought my sunglasses and my kids sunglasses. Then my diaper bag ended up in my neighbors bushes with nothing gone, my sunglasses between some couch cushions and my kids were in H's car.
That's how exciting my life is.
Hope your H feels better soon @Gretchypoo!
