@Blueberry85 yes! I am only feeling it in the lower area,so this would suggest that these are punches, but no way he can punch that hard at this point!? Bit of a weird and queasy thing, but makes me so happy nevertheless.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
19 weeks and 2 days and last night and today has been nothing but movement! I got practically no sleep because I just stayed up feeling all the little punches and kicks all night! It was the wierdest but most wonderful feeling in my life. First baby for me tried for over 2 years and now it Is finally feeling real. I could stay up and feel those little punches and kicks all day and night I swear!
DD moved ALL. THE. TIME. in utero, but I don't ever think she ever gave me the dropping stomach feeling this one has! Granted, it has been 3 years since DD was an inside baby, so it's entirely possible I've just forgotten.
Funny that so many of us have the same feeling from the kicks, though!
I began to feel like something was flicking me from the inside on Thanksgiving (FTM 21w2d) but I was also a bit bloated. It has continued and I feel it most when I lay down or have just eaten. My cat was just sitting on my belly, and I felt 8 solid taps near my belly button!
I agree with all of you about the stomach dropping feeling! I think I had actually been feeling the baby with light taps for a week or so before, but last weekend I DEFINITELY felt him and it has been strong ever since. DH has felt a couple of times, but for the most part it seems as though baby boy does not like when people put their hand on my stomach when he kicks, he usually stops soon after.
I'm 19w today and it wasn't until yesterday that I got confirmation of what I thought were kicks/punches were actually kicks/punches. During my A/S the baby gave a swift kick and i saw it on the monitor AND felt it. It was amazing! Now I think back to about as early was 17ish weeks when I started feeling pops and flutters that I passed off as gas may actually have been kicks.
They're not predictable or very frequent at this point and I feel really bad since I has only felt one so far.
When does everyone start paying attention to how often movement is? I know it's still somewhat early (22+4) but dang this girl moves WAY less than my son did so it's hard not to worry sometimes! I know each kid and pregnancy is different but mama needs the reassurance
We start kick counts around 28 weeks. This baby I can definitely feel everything! I've had anterior placentas before and this is my first posterior one. Completely different!
20+6 today and felt movement every day for 5 days now. Sometimes hardly any, but yesterday, for example, there was a lot! Maybe to do with my mum visiting and bringing her legendary honey cream cake full of sugar, which I pretty much ate for breakfast lunch and dinner?

Thanks @cafedisco, it's so hard not to be a worry wart about everything! DS moved ALL the time and BIG movements. Little girl is way less often and super dainty and subtle. I just keep telling myself maybe this will be my calm child. My coworker is pregnant too and just hit 12 weeks after two previous losses and she was asking the other day when she'll be able to finally relax and stop worrying a little. Told her that there's always something new, at the beginning it's oh I'll feel better once I hit second tri, then it's I'll feel better once I can feel them, then it's oh crap, are they moving enough and on and on. Then they are born and it's all new worries
I'm 19 weeks today and not feeling much yet that I can clearly identify as movement. I thought there was some tapping and nudging about a week ago, but might have been indigestion. Hoping for something more clear soon.
I've been feeling light kicks every now and then for the past week and a half, but oh man have they intensified! Sometimes she will kick so hard out of nowhere that I scream haha. I also felt what I swear felt like a body slam a few days ago. I'm very nervous for when this little lady can reach mama's ribs with those strong little legs lol
I have been feeling this little girl for several weeks now and i love it but it's also really nerve wracking. She is so active most days and then the last two days, I haven't hardly felt her. It was really freaking me out. She did finally start moving a bunch about 20 minutes ago but I am with you @mylittleirvz I think it's too early to do a kick count but I worried a lot over the last two days.
I spoke to my mum over the weekend and I told her about the kick count, she said back in her day noone even did this at all and that she is not convinced that it is good - her theory is that is gives more anxiety than reassurance and if there is a problem, there are better indicators than slow movement. I don't know, she makes sense, and when I dont feel kicks for some time I am already anxious, and I am nowhere even near the kick count week. I will definitely count when the time comes but I will also try to remember what she said and not freak out.
anyhow,. @KirstinH88 congratulations!! more to come I am sure!!

I had the same worries for a while.. I would feel him a ton one day then not at all for a few days.. and it's impossible not to worry when you don't feel anything.. my dr said the days I didn't feel him he was probably just in a different spot and that it's totally normal for some to not feel them everyday until 24-25 weeks... The ultrasound tech at my last appointment actually was amazed I only felt a few jabs here and there because he was so active during the ultrasound.. a week later and I'm feeling a lot more and much stronger movements everyday.
DH was able to feel Nugget kick/punch three times over the weekend! It was so cute to watch his face light up. I feel her movement much more prominently than I did even a week ago. It's really fun Took me 22 weeks with an anterior placenta to get this far, so don't lose hope!
@schef070911 Baby could be kicking up a storm and I can see and feel them from outside.. but he stops kicking the second my husband puts his hand to my stomach every single time. Poor DH.
Anyone else experiencing baby trampolining on the cervix? It's not painful, it just feels like she's pressing on it for a second or two. She'll do it for awhile and then stop. Weird feeling. Might hurt more when she's bigger though.

I felt it for the first time yesterday. It only gets worse as they get bigger!
@HappyAnjel oh my gosh, yes, same for me too! The moment my husband puts his hand there, baby goes to sleep. Hopefully this will be the case when he is born, too!!! He hasn't felt much yet . I have a theory is because when you anticipate the movement because you want to show it, you tense up and get out of your relaxed state and baby feels it. Or maybe baby is just being mischievous.

I'm feeling lots of movement this morning!! 19w4d. Makes sense because DS was super active in the morning as well. And the movement is low and I've been feeling really low and heavy this whole pregnancy.
I'm feeling daily movement especially in the evenings. I'm 21+2 with an anterior placenta. It's not super obvious but just there. Not enough for DH to feel yet and no prominent kicks.
@SDSwenson I agree that the only reason why I'm feeling kicks with my anterior placenta is because I'm home sick and have been doing lots of laying around. I've been able to concentrate on feeling them. If I was up and working, I would most likely not be feeling them. They are subtle.
I feel the baby all of the time and my husband is able to feel it too when the baby really gets going. I am not going to lie, I really don't love feeling that bean squirming around. It's comforting to know it's doing okay but...getting punched and kicked from the inside isn't really my favorite sensation.
And I am so glad that I am not the only one who thinks that kicks are a bit unpleasant. Lovely, but sometimes unpleasant.

Kick report 8/12 - hardly any movement today at all. hope this is not a sign of a problem. Anyone else had kicks one day then silence the next?

@smallanimal yes--baby girl is often quiet during the morning and most of the day and then goes nuts at night. The past few days she's been more consistent but last week I wondered about her several times until nighttime.
@HGRich thanks, that reassures me somewhat. Yesterday he was having a blast almost all day, today - hardly anything. My tummy's also grown recently so maybe he has a bit more space now?

@smallanimal no doubt. Plus they're still small enough that we won't feel a lot of it. I'm sure it has so much to do with where they're at in there, what position they're in, and how much they're sleeping. A couple times last week I drank something really cold and ate something sweet to see if she'd move, and sometimes she did. Haha. For now I'm trying to remind myself she's only 13 ounces and isn't going to fling herself around that hard all day.

This. I am pretty sure that little girl has turned her back to the outside of my stomach because I've felt very little the last few days aside from a subtle bump or two. They still have a lot of room to move around in there, and it's not uncommon to feel more movement one day and less the next.
Regarding the earlier discussion on kick counts, my OB said to only do them if you hadn't noticed baby moving around at all for an entire day once you're past 30 weeks or so. It is a little anxiety-inducing to sit there, waiting to count to ten, because sometimes babies are lazy. But I agree with PPs that it's definitely too early to worry about at this point.
Aaand, I guess her ears started burning because she just rolled and kicked me in the cervix. Bah!
