How is everyone staying awake between like 1pm and 3pm?? I have my allotted cup of coffee in the morning and by like 2pm I'm falling asleep at my desk. I had been doing fine sleeping until last week or so. I need like 16 naps
I'm not. Lol! Nah...usually I'm struggling at around 3-5p and give in while my 4yr old binge watches PBS. Other times I make her lay down with me in my bed and we both nap.
I haven't been able to drink coffee. It's causing heartburn. =/
What is considered a good price on diapers? Either per value box or per diaper. BRU has a $10 coupon this weekend for Pampers but I have no concept if that is a good deal or if Target usually has better sales than that

That chart is pretty acurate. Although personally I wait and find better deals. Like the Amazon mom with a coupon I got size 1s for 10c a piece and 2s for 9c a piece. You just have to look around. I always feel like it's expensive to buy them from Bru. Target frequently has the buy two boxes and get a $10 gift card and like spend $100 on baby stuff and get $20 gc. So you can like double up on those deals and get like 4 boxes and end up with $40 in gc that you can use on something else or another box later on etc. definitely price it out per diaper though! Pampers are the highest for diapers(besides like organic seventh gen, honest company)
@homemake For size 1, Pampers swaddlers sensitive would be $33 for 156 after the coupon (21 cents each). Regular Pampers swaddlers would be $36 for 216 after coupon (16 cents each).
Has anyone here needed to use the sensitive ones vs. regular Pampers?
Thanks @imalwaysme79 and @lct2008! I will try to start looking at Target for those offers as well
@lfrank12 I would start with pampers swaddlers just regular. Most people I know prefer those- then if they don't work or your baby does have sensitivities you can experiment from there. I usually buy ours from target but like pp said Amazon I've heard is usually the best option?
Looking into Amazon subscribe & save but I'm not sure about the sizing either. I don't want too many NB size packs for him to not fit. Should I subscribe to size 1 and just pick up a few packs of the NB? And then switch the subscribe size as he grows?
I'm a FTM, so this is information passed to me. I was told not to buy NB, and take what the hospital gives you. If you need more, go from there. You'll be able to determine how big of a package to get once he's born. When you subscribe you can change the size and delivery date at any time. So if you know you're up for a delivery and won't need 1's anymore, you can just switch to 2's before they ship.
ETA: if you haven't had your shower yet, you may get diapers then too. Worst case, buy a small package of NB and don't open it. You can always return it.
@imalwaysme79 I liked the Baby Dry, particularly for overnights, once they were in size 2 or so. Something else I did for overnight was to size up a little before they were really ready because I could snug up the waist enough to avoid poop-splosions (although mine didn't tend to poop overnight anyway) and they would hold a little extra pee.
@lfrank12 - re: sensitive skin diapers - my DS has very sensitive skin and when we were first working thru his issues I switched between regular huggies and seventh generation (which fit very similar to huggies). And even when we are in the height of itchiness, his diaper region is never a problem, so I've gone back to just regular huggies. I am particular about getting the sensitive skin wipes though. He needs no extra fragrances in his life.
So I would say if you are going the pampers route (I think pampers = huggies, so it's really just personal preference), but wanted to try something for sensitive skin, I would get a fully hypoallergenic brand, and not trustthe pampers sensitive. Because I feel like then you will know for sure if it makes a difference rather than if the pampers sensitive was hypoallergenic enough.
I'm a pampers fan myself. We did swaddlers during the day and baby dry during the night. We only started using night diapers once he was past the newborn and size 1 stage though. I don't actually think they make night diapers for NB and size 1?
We used Huggies for newborn because we liked how they fit for the umbilical cord (DS only lost his almost 3 weeks after his birth!) but as he started growing out of them, we kept getting accidents and so we made the switch to pampers and to this day, we've barely had any blow outs with that brand.

I've used pampers, luvs and huggies and had no problems with any. I will only use swaddlers for NB and size 1, but once they get to two I'm way more lax. I usually got huggies snug n dry but would buy luvs if money was tighter. I also never bought any type of special nighttime diapers and she never soaked though at night.
All three of my children were sensitive babies. Ds1&2 started on pampers and ended up in Huggies.
Anna started in Huggies snugglers and I tried pampers as well as kirkland brand both gave her a rash . so i have no clue what I will do if she grow out of the huggies snugglers sizes
okay, STMs - baby clothes. how much do I really need? Like, how many onsies per day? How many sleepers and swaddles? Do I need socks? I am so overwhelmed.

Socks are hard -- you probably want a lot of footie pajamas/sleepers because it'll be cold. You might need to change more than once a day depending on your kid and their rate of blowouts. You can get away with just a few swaddles but can get a few different kinds so you have variety and see what you like. I got socks but I also got these awesome booties from old navy that I'll probably put him in a lot because they will stay better.

I think the clothing completely depends on how many leaks you get and how often you plan on washing the baby's laundry. I would say around 14 onsies just because that only gives you 2 a day, if you do the laundry once a week. Socks never stay on, basically we used socks as mittens to keep baby from scratching them self because they stayed on better than the mittens and we used the cute sleepers with feet during the colder weather as outfits, so we had a lot of those. The cute little separates for outfits look adorable but are a lot more of a hassle to me than they are worth unless it's a special reason. The legs rise, socks fall off, and the shirts get bunched up awkwardly, but one piece outfits don't do that. And I only had a few swaddlers.
