Tooth eruptions that look like this?

Hi there. Haven't posted in ages but wondered if any of you had seen this before? My son is 16 mo. Normal teething symptoms. My two older kids never had this so I wasn't certain.

Re: Tooth eruptions that look like this?

  • Omg you should take him in. Does he seem like he's in pain?
  • Nope. Just normal teething. Otherwise acting like himself. Playing. Laughing. EAting. Drinking.  His molars came in like that too.

  • Oh i thought it was the first time, that's so crazy! Im glad he's not in pain!
  • I can't tell if it's just blood under the surface or what. It's just odd. I never took him before but this one looked bigger. I was just curious what other moms thought. Just want to make sure I'm not writing it off if I should really be taking him in

  • If it was me. i would take my babys in. But its up to you. Maybe its nothing, who knows. Ive never seen anything like it.
  • Boo. See now I'm kind of concerned because the canine on the other side popped through today and it doesn't look like that at all. I think I'll  call the dr tomorrow.

  • Soo did some research and called a peds RN that I know. Apparently it's an eruption cyst or hematoma. Blood filled. Goes away on it's own when it's making way for the tooth and doesn't require immediate treatment. Sounds like it happens mostly with molars and usually when the tissue is thick. Makes me feel better! I was getting worried
