I have had very strong prego brain lately. I didn't think I got up to pee last night, but then when I looked at my phone this morning, it said I had taken steps at some point last night...so I must have peed? Or I am sleep walking. Either way I have no recollection.
@tishb I had AWFUL sciatic pain from weeks 21-23 and it's pretty much gone now in week 24. I did a LOT of stretching (while crying through it), used Thermacare heat pads down the tailbone and side that was hurting (this was a Godsend!!!), and solely slept on my right side (as it was my left that the pain was shooting down). The doctor confirmed that at the time baby's head was down and therefore probably also pushing on it. If at all possible, try to get in different positions to move baby a bit and see if it's just that the little one is pushing down there right now! I don't have the sciatic nerve pain much anymore, but now there is some nerve disruption where basically the top of my left thigh from hip to knee is almost completely numb.
@Spicyweiner I think you mentioned this previously, but anyone have experience with your baby sitting so low there's constant pressure on your hooha? How did you deal with it? I feel like I have to keep my legs crossed to get any relief, and walking is a little painful. It's not sciatica painful, but seriously baby, any lower and you'd be here. It was so bad at my A/S the tech had to tilt the chair back like at the dentist to get baby out of there.
I'm wearing my husband's boxers because I ran out of clean shorts because it's been so fucking hot. I've been pulling out my imaginary dick and waving it at him.
+1 to the heart palpitations/issues club. Got fitted for a holter monitor after fainting a couple weeks ago. Despite several dizzy/short of breath moments while wearing it, the Dr. is not concerned after reviewing the results. Said it's a combination of my low BP and having squished lungs. Fingers crossed that it's just another benign symptom for everyone else going through it!
Oh and then there's lightning crotch which feels like they are digging at your cervix with their fingernails! But nope, they're not, baby is head down... it's just lightning crotch
@Patience7150 maybe the 'low-baby' thing is what I'm feeling! For the past three days it has just felt like my baby 'dropped' and I have a lot of lower abdominal pressure, like at the bottom/below where my 'bump' starts. They feel like dull period cramps but sometimes rise in pressure (I also have massively horrible period cramps, so thats why I say dull... these actually hurt like a MOFO sometimes). It's been constant for the last three days, so it's not like 'pre-term labor contractions'
@LivingLaVidaGinger two days ago I was SO confused because it felt basically like my cervix was twitching.... or something? I don't fully understand the anatomy of where things are located these days, but upper vagina/into cervix area? It maybe happened every ten seconds for a good 20-30 minutes. I wasn't sure if these were contractions or my cervix randomly dilating but it's really bizarre!
@TeacherMom2517 Icy Hot, stretching, and a pillow nest for bedtime have helped some. Thanks for the tip. I've accepted that I'll probably have to deal with it off and on now until she's born.
@TeacherMom2517, I have the pressure and the light cramps too. Baby was head down at my appointment last week so that's probably why. Seems so early for this feeling though!

@Vastra@jlellis603@MrsLittleMac I'm glad I'm not alone on the heart issues but I wish none of us were dealing with them! They took 3 days to read my EKG before saying it was normal since I was not having any issues while they actually did the test. They are now sending me to see a cardiologist for a follow-up where I'm assuming they will have me wear a heart rate monitor? Although kind of annoyed they couldn't get me in for another month
@lfrank12 ugh, frustrating! Glad they're following up, and SO glad your EKG was normal (even if you did have to wait way too long). Did they say anything about an Echo? Mine is mostly so they can make sure I'm not having too much blood flow in my stenotic valve.

@Vastra Nope they didn't really say much except they want me to have a follow up. Maybe my midwife will tell me more at my next appointment in two weeks?
@Xstatic3333 omg the broken cervix got me. thats awesome. Baby has been really low today. I told H it felt like someone was tapping on my cervix from the inside. Not painful, but not something I'm loving.
As someone who had unexpected incompetent cervix in my second pregnancy, if you're feeling uncomfortable pressure in your cervix, don't let other pregnant people (or even your doctor) tell you it's normal pregnancy pains without actually checking your cervix. (Whatever you're feeling, it probably is ok!!! But for me it wasn't. I will live the rest of my life regretting I didn't demand my doctor to actually examine my cervix).
Ok, sorry. I just feel like all pregnancy aches and pains get dismissed as normal. Most of the time I'm sure they are, but don't hesitate getting examined to confirm it.
@FreshBakedBrownies I'm so sorry that happened to you and that my comment made you revisit it. I shouldn't be so cavalier.
In my case, what actually happened was that they thought the most likely scenario was either normal aches and pains or a UTI. They did a clean catch urine work up (clean) and checked my cervix by TV US two days later after my A/S. All joking about the bill aside, it was well worth it for the peace of mind and would have been a tiny price to pay had they uncovered an actual problem. At the A/S, we could see his head resting right on the cervix and thumping into it after every little movement.
@FreshBakedBrownies had you had any prior indication of the incompetent cervix? When measured at my A/S, my cervix was still very long, but you know when you read about something and just get a sixth sense you need to watch out for it? Yeah, incompetent cervix was one I got that feeling about.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and I'm sorry you had to experience that.
Just had my first lightning crotch experience - 6:30am & it woke me up. Before now i wondered what it was when you all mentioned it, i wish i was still wondering
@Patience7150 No, I had no idea i would have an incompetent cervix. My first pregnancy was uneventful and I carried my son to 40 weeks. Last year I was pregnant with twins. I had told my doctor that I felt achy and pressure when walking. I let her convince me it was normal and expected since it wasn't my first pregnancy and I had two babies in there. I mentioned it again on my last routine visit before everything happened, but did not get an internal pelvic exam or cervical ultrasound that visit. Those were planned to start at my next visit. I had no warning (other than the same achy pressure I had been feeling when walking) the day my water broke for baby A.
@Xstatic3333 making light of possible cervical issues is an emotional trigger for me for sure! But it's ok. I understand! Most of the time everything really IS ok. Pregnancy does have a lot of normal aches and pains. I just don't want anyone to feel reassured by reading someone else's similar symptoms and not get examined. You don't want to be me!
I have a bit of a weird one... This last week, I keep having the 'let down' feeling. I stopped nursing DD in June when she was 13mo. I never leaked when I was pregnant with her and so far not this time. I'm going to be super embarrassed if I'm at work or in public and actually let down/leak!
Re: Symptoms Thread 10/17/16
Same! All I can think is if it hurts this bad now, I can't imagine how it'll be in like 10 weeks
You're welcome.

Dude, you can't catch a break. Your poor butt.
ETA: My stomach was cramping so hard I was literally doing Lamaze breathing and wondered if my SO would wake up thinking I was having solo sexy time.

Edit bc spelling is hard.
I'm sure it doesn't bode well for how my stomach is going to look by February, though.
