WTF kind of glucose test did I do then? I needed an 8 hour fast, it was a two hour test when I couldn't eat or drink anything (even water) except for the nasty ass drink they gave me.

I think yours is the one time only test where you either pass or fail and other people have the 1 hour test and if they fail then they have to do the 3 hour fasting test.
@grapeskittles4lyfe in my h&s risk assessment there was a section saying there was nowhere in our office for me to rest so when i felt i needed to rest i was to inform my boss & go home to rest. This has become a standing joke round the office given the shit i got a few weeks back about appointments can you imagine his face if i stroll over & announce im away home for a sleep! Put that down to your office overheads!
@homemake I'm just jealous of those who didn't have such a horrendous experience. While mine is the definitive test, I'm envious of all of you whose care providers have a more reasonable approach. I think the normal test, with the awful experience only if you NEED it, makes more sense to me. The idea of "make sure you have breakfast while you're here" just sounds so nice....

Gotcha. It seems like the rules are different depending on what practice you go to which has got to mess with the results. Like last time I was told nothing beforehand, but some people are told not to eat, others told to eat.
I failed and had to do the 3 hour fasting so I feel your pain for sure. Hoping to pass the 1 hour this time!
Overshare for the day: I feel like I am forever washing my husbands clothes.
Here's an example of one day's worth of clothing:
Work- pants & a polo/shirt (and then depending on the day) possibly a Mid-Day outfit change- khaki or navy shorts, a new polo/shirt; After work- new pair of shorts, new shirt, possibly followed by pajama pants as the night progresses. And of course each new outfit also includes a shower, new towel, new socks, underwear and possibly new shoes. I mean I'm glad he's hygienic, but damn I'm missing those days when he wore a Flightsuit to work (solely for the reason of laundry).
To be fair H definitely helps with laundry, but it's a never ending cycle.
Edit: I may also miss the flightsuits because he looked sexy & TopGun as F when he wore them. Oh how I miss that flightsuit covered ass.
@FishyMom it really is about to start flying by!! I'm so excited for the holidays and getting to celebrate them with DS since he's finally getting excited about get togethers etc.
I also find myself really taking time to enjoy and soak up the one-on-one time with DS before DS2 comes, because I know it's going to happen before I realize. I get a little sad but then excited for the days when they'll be best buds(or so I hope).
@kirstynikole My kids don't even wear that many clothes during the day.
Right?!! Like I know I'm usually in lounge wear, but his clothing changes are a bit excessive. To be fair, he does work as a construction supervisor and certain days he has to get his hands dirty so I understand, but he doesn't even re-use a lounge shirt once he's home in the evenings. Like I get work clothes not being reused, but the shirt you wore sitting on the couch watching Chopped? That definitely had another night in its lifetime.
When does the glucose test usually happen? My doc hasn't mentioned anything about it yet, but I have a 4 week checkup next week and I'll be 22 weeks on Friday. Also, is it weird that I get an ultrasound at each appt? I have seen a few people mention being excited to get one, or having their 2nd ultrasound - but I get one each time I see my doc. And I don't ask for it, he just automatically does it...

This is me too!!! I am trying so hard to enjoy the one on one cuddles with her and the times we sit and play and she wrestles with me. I cannot get enough of my sweet girl right now. The wave of emotions when I think about it is crazy!
@MissMerciBeaucoup Are you high risk? I only had two with my son (dating and a/s) and then I had three with my daughter (dating, a/s and then to double check on placenta previa and positioning at 37 weeks). This time around I will probably only have the two that I have had so far. Are you paying for all of these ultrasounds? I pay $50-$100 that insurance doesn't cover for every ultrasound.
I am 35 so not sure if that automatically makes me high risk, but no issues other than my age. My doctor's office does not bill for the ultrasounds (but my insurance covers all prenatal care 100% in any case).
I have been MIA this week. Why? My job is so random. I've been down in our main lab and conference room decorating it as a haunted house fo our department's Halloween party in 2 weeks. My job title is BioMed Tech.

@kirstynikole whaaattt. That is too many clothes. I thought mine was bad with his work clothes and then woodworking clothes almost daily, but at least if he's only in them for a few hours he shakes the sawdust of the pants and rewears them.
@kirstynikole Surely all of those clothes are not actually dirty, especially the night time lounge around clothes... have you asked him why he doesn't re-wear anything?
@WinchesterGirl I have brought it up and I'll often end up throwing it back in his drawer if he hasn't thrown it on the floor. If he throws in on the floor(which is a whole other can of worms), the dogs lay on it and then it's dirty. So yea... I did have a big discussion yesterday about throwing clothes everywhere in the house and reusing- he claims he'll try. We shall see because the next convo won't be so calm. The first 3 years of marriage this wasn't so much of an issue, but now it's a sudden bad habit he's adopted the last 1-2 years. I'm over it.
ill especially be over it when new baby comes & we're back in cloth diapers.
@kirstynikole What is the deal with males and leaving clothes on the floor. Is it innate? It takes less than a minute to bring the clothes to designated hamper or washing machine. Every day dude, every single day.

Ugh I agree! My DH literally passes the hamper on the way to our bedroom, yet clothes still end up all over the floor!
@homemake it must be. @colebug89 lol so true! I have so many friends who also complain about their Hs doing the same. Like, I don't remember his apartment looking this way when we were dating. I know for DAMN sure his barracks didn't look like this during his Navy schooling... I'm just sayin, it must happen once they're happily married.
@kirstynikole I just had this conversation with my DH! I understand him having to wash his work clothes, but he will change t-shirts just because sometimes. Most of the time I'll fold them back up and pretend I washed them, if he only wore them for a few hours.
@kirstynikole Me too! I'm a little heartbroken to be leaving behind this time in my life when DS1 and I got to spent tons of time just the two of us. I know it'll be awesome to add another wonderful boy to our family, but I'm going to miss this time. We're best buddies. I hope that doesn't change. I'm asking for lots of extra hugs and snuggles lately. I'm usually told "no, mom" but I keep trying!
Re clothes, I'm totally the one that leaves piles of clothes on the floor, man-style.
Sometimes I feel vaguely bad about not being domestic, cause it's so hawt when he goes all manly-man and installs something or kills a bug/rodent/snake. Hopefully he isn't as in to flour on an apron as I am into sawdust.
Anyone else remember the chick from The Art of Making a Baby? I was bored today and looked her up and apparently they filed for divorce over the summer.
@Lafreeman21 I'm the one who leaves clothes on the floor man-style in DH's and my relationship too! I do my own laundry though. I'm domestic in some ways like I love to cook/bake but I hate cleaning and am kind of messy...

@cantalopes24, you are talking about the prebabyblog right? Totally remember her are when she was on the bump during her pregnancy(positive test at 6 DPO). Such an AW and always edited her pictures to make herself look skinnier. I saw they got divorced too, sad but IMO not surprising.
Is it bed time yet?! One of those days. I've been sick all day. Kids are being crazy. I'm ready to just toss them in their beds and go to bed myself. I can't start bedtime routine in like 1.5 hours though.

This is me, exactly. I like the fun parts of domesticity.

This is me too, except i dont even do my own washing! My husband does it! I do all the cooking, he does the washing & we have a cleaner who does the rest.
Ladies, I need your thoughts. My son's school is having a parent/teacher night that is also a potluck. I loathe potlucks because I always get anxious about what to bring. I decided on a Mediterranean dip with garlic hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, feta cheese and kalamata olives. I also got pita chips for dipping. Now I'm worried it's not going to be received well because my SO literally said "Ugh! What are you trying to do?!" But he's an extremely picky eater. What do you all think? Should I run out and just get a damned cheese tray?
