So my niece loves to bake and she takes it pretty seriously with all the details. For realz, this cake not only looked adorable but it tasted amazing!! I told her to forget college and open a bakery.  Kidding.....sort of. 
Oh ya, and she really wanted to do a sex reveal for everybody else, so it was fun, too!             NOTE: This was made totally from scratch.  I'm very proud of her!

When was your shower?
October 8th. Early, but November & December are already booked. 

How many people attended?
40ish. We weren't going to invite men, at first, but last minute my sister ended up inviting them, too. 

What did you wear?
I had actually bought this pretty burgundy dress from Target that I was excited about. But the day of, I saw there was a rip from where the seam is.  So, I actually ended up wearing one of my older dresses but it worked out well. I found that this older dress looked even more flattering with my baby bump! 

Was there a theme? 
Theme was sex reveal. 

Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. 
It went even better! Everyone was in a great mood. My cousins and nieces did a spectacular job with decorations and set up.  I am forever grateful!

What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. 
Favorite part: Walking in and seeing the beautiful set up and all the hard work every body put in! Tied for favorite part: my niece's cake! And she did this while suffering from a concussion, too. She was in a bad car accident earlier in the week, that they hid from me. Thankfully, she's ok, has a concussion and staples in her head, though.   Of course, still being a teenager, she laughs it all off. 

Favorite/interesting gifts?
I got a bassinet along with some clothes/blankets. However, everyone else gave me money! Lol. My family is too lazy to deal with baby registries and I dont blame them.

What did you wear? Maternity skirt & top

Was there a theme? Not really, just baby boy shower

Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. More people came than my Mom expected. It was in a restaurant so the area she reserved was a bit crowded. It party was great.

What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. My favorite part was spending time with friends & family celebrating the baby.

Any pictures you want to share? My uncle had to drive my aunt so he took a bunch of pictures but he hasn't sent them to me yet.

Favorite/interesting gifts? I received a bunch of clothes in a variety of sizes, which I appreciate. I love the My Pal Scout. My friends had one for their kids a few years ago and loved them.

When was your shower? Sunday Oct 16

How many people attended? 6, it was a mini shower brunch

What did you wear? A green cotton simple dress that hit just above the knee

Was there a theme? Bumblebees a play on my maiden name

Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. It was so special! I loved being able to really chat with each guest, the pressure was off me to entertain a huge group so I could relax and enjoy every moment. Gift opening only took 10 mins so guests weren't bored at all either. The games were cute and not the annoying ones like "guess the belly circumference" or anything embarrassing

What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. Favorite part was walking in the room and being blown away by all the little details. Everything was decorated, every aspect had a bee reference, even the prizes for the 3 games were Burts Bees giftsets. The hosts used muslin swaddle blankets that were the table cloths, idk everything was just really touching. Even the 6 month old attendee wore a bee costume

DH wasn't supposed to come home for another day but they surprised me and he walked in the door at the end of the shower looking all sweet with that new daddy glow- that was really cool he got to be a part of everything

Favorite/interesting gifts? I recieved a ton of workhorse fitted diapers in different sizes, and my aunt tracked down some old timey cloth diapers that she and my dad wore 65 years ago, as well as an assortment of their vintage diaper pins (I plan to make a shadow box). We also got a rock n play and our stroller which was a cool surprise! I also got a bunch of handmade breastpads so thats one more thing I can knock off my sewing list

My dad's longtime lady friend helped him write out something in a card, and that was a really sweet surprise too he can't really write things by himself so I know the effort it took, and I was really touched

A purple flowered dress from pink blush.

There were lots of nature-related touches since that was our nursery theme. 
Did it go as you expected/wanted? Share. 
Yes, it was wonderful! The food was delicious and everyone was so nice. It went by too fast!
What was your favorite part? Or least favorite part if applicable. 
My favorite part was seeing family and friends that I don't see a lot. My least favorite was that two card-gifts were put on a different table from the other gifts so I didn't see them during opening time. The givers were really offended that I didn't open them. I feel awful.

So many cute things! My mom is a quilter and she made a gorgeous quilt, as well as lots of burp cloths and a bag. Pic is of the quilt.

I wouldn't feel bad about not seeing the cards either, I'm actually surprised anyone would get offended instead of just making sure you saw them. They should have realized the other gifts were all on a different table and been understanding. But I do agree with @homemake I had thought you were a light brunette! Lol

Thanks guys! The lighting in there was weird. I consider myself a dirty blonde (I do have blue eyes) but my hair looks way blonder in the photos than I think it does IRL. The sign was sent by a really good friend who couldn't be there. When she asked me all the questions I assumed they were for a game or I might have phrased things slightly differently, but I still love it so much. Now my little guy will always know that I spent my pregnancy with beer envy, but hopefully he'll forgive me! The reverse is a chalkboard with places to fill in various blanks for the baby's month photos  

I did find out from MIL later that the person who got mad about the cards was already mad at MIL about something else, so you're right, I shouldn't dwell on it. I just felt badly since it was a REALLY generous gift card. Ugh. Family politics. In any case, they're getting the first thank you card!

Mine isn't until January 8th. It feels like so far away.

Mine is "planned" for the first weekend in January and I keep having dreams of her coming early and not having anything and freaking out. And I'm due 1/30 lol

We are shower twins! Mine is 4 hrs away so I'm worried I won't be able to get there or the baby will come super early.

My 1st shower is in 2 weeks, and the one at DH's work is in January. I'm getting excited!

My MIL is throwing a "surprise" shower for me Jan 14th or 15th. DH knows I hate surprises so he already told me. I am a little worried about what will happen if the baby comes early and we don't have anything! Though I'm not due until end of Feb so hopefully he stays put!

same here for MLK weekend shower. and same as @NiceyMeany it's stopping me from doing baby shopping. with the exception of furniture.
