Ohhhh you'll catch on really fast @AllyTheKid... come to the dark side lol
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
I'm with @AllyTheKid, no Facebook here either. Although it's getting hard to refrain.
Same. Until I see my husband scrolling through and it's nothing but political crap. Then I remember why I'm glad to be avoiding it for now!
Oh man the politics are brutal right now. I'm in Cansda and even our news is full of your American politics. I feel bad for you guys, to say the least.

I was having the THE WORST skin irritation from the belly binder. My skin is red and inflamed, and itchy like none other. Maybe I wasn't supposed to wear it 24/7? But it feels SO. GOOD. after the c-section.
So I see on the can of Dermaplast that it helps with itching. It does! I sprayed my torso down like my life depended on it. It was marvelous. Then I decided perhaps a barrier between my skin and the binder itself, so I put a receiving blanket on my belly before the band because I absolutely could not have turned over in bed without it.
Anybody else having any issues like this? Anybody found anything else that works?

Still waiting for baby here but @Kaytee1087 may I ask which brand belly binder you are using? I would like to try one PP and would prefer a comfy one if possible.
I'm sure I'll re-activate once LO arrives. I don't like the idea of not being able to monitor what people are posting as far as pics of him. Also, I feel like I'll be so busy keeping a baby alive that I won't waste too much time on it which was one of the reasons I de-activated. I hate being the person whose face is buried in her phone while out with real live people.

Last night DH was sleep walking. He ripped the blankets off of me and then tickled my feet until I woke up. I was like "What the (explicit) are you doing!?" And he was like "Fighting villians!! hahahahaha" then laid back down and was snoring within four seconds. It took me almost an hour to fall back asleep. >:(
Yeah, he almost lost his life. And he had NO recollection of it this morning.

I'm trying to catch up with everything but it feels impossible. Congrats to everyone who had their baby from Oct 6 onward!
I have to be really careful about what I read on here because I still can't laugh without terrible pain. What a predicament! Overall I feel like my incision wound is the least of my pain though, compared to this miserable gas pain and what I assume is muscle pain in my abdomen?
Guys. Tanzanians are hard core. 6 hours after my c-section they made me roll over and get out of bed all by myself. Hospital beds here have no rails or supports or anything and plus when they moved me onto my bed they put me super close to the edge so I actually had to move further into the bed in order to roll over. I feel like my abdomen is still recovering from that.
Additionally, any other c-section mama's still struggle with the shakes? I was only given brufen for pain and once I get around the 7 hour mark I start to get very very cold and tremor like shakes, like the ones when I came out of surgery. I usually just take my next dose then instead of at 8 hours but it's super hard if I'm sleeping and I wake up with them.
@kmolleltz I'm getting caught up too, just saw you were team blue turned pink! One of my nurses right after delivery referred to my little guy as a 'she' (before I saw his boy parts) and I about shit myself. Did you guys buy a lot of boy stuff?? Congrats on your little girl!
That's nuts you're only given ibuprofen after a c-section. I have ibuprofen for my stitches from my episiotomy, I can't imagine it's even touching the pain for you!
@sidecarsareforbishes yes turned pink! haha When they showed her to me on the operating table I was half dazed half in shock and the nurse asked "girl or boy" and I was able to say "girl" and then I let out a little laugh.
Luckily we got a lot of practically new clothes for free but yeah boy wardrobe from like 0-6 months. Hahaha. I do have a number of girl pieces as well though because I was so anxious before we "found out" that I bought both.
Culturally you don't dress the baby until the cord stump falls off so she's just being swaddled in traditional fabrics until then.
re:pain when I realized it was only brufen I was kinda shocked to be honest. In the hospital I was given an injection of pain relief three times a day until the last day when they switched me to oral brufen.
Wow, trying to catch up on all this excitement. Congratulations to all the new mamas! Mobile bump is being awful about loading the announcements thread so I can't read or see the pics Hope everyone is recovering well and enjoying those new baby snugs!
@brzvice It's whatever they put on me in recovery, I'm not really sure. Other than my skin though, it has been amazingly helpful. I don't think I could sleep without it because I don't think I could roll over. I've just been so delerious lately that I'm kicking myself for not putting a barrier between it and my skin sooner. It made a world of difference last night.

So I know we talked about nursing clothes a bit a few months ago, but now that we have some experience, can anyone recommend a brand of mid-priced nursing clothing that they like? With my first, I didn't really buy nursing clothes because for the first month or so, I just nursed topless in my bedroom. And after that, it was summer, so I just wore sleeveless dresses with easy-to-pull-down straps. I can't really do that this time because I have a toddler to watch and visitors pretty much all month, and it's cold here already, so I need some decent nursing shirts or dresses. Any recommendations?
@ignoscemihi - this is maybe not the advice you are looking for but DS was a winter baby and I mostly wore button front shirts with a nursing tank or easy pull down top under.
@ignoscemihi can't say I tried but gap has a couple interesting looking nursing shirts right now. It's the tank under the shirt concept minus the actual layering which I think seems pretty nice! Im not a fan of wearing a tank or cami under other clothes.
I find actual nursing clothing makes my booBs look like I'm auditing to be a porn star DH loves it I feel so uncomfortable. I just wear tank tops and zipper sweaters.
I think I will join FB after the new baby dust settles and the randos are done with this BMB. DS' BMB got so sad and quiet after all the babies were outside
@NoraAurora I'm so behind that I don't even have nursing tanks. What kind do you like best? I've heard the Gillian O'Malley ones from Target are decent.
@serenaxo84 I saw those shirts and almost bought one but some of the reviewers say they're a bit shapeless and the snaps aren't great.
@ignoscemihi - yep the target gilligan o'mallys are the ones I have! People seem to like the H&M nursing tanks too. Lucies list has a good section on nursing clothing too.
My milk has come in which I'm excited about (and so is baby) but I am too engorged for her I really don't want to break out the pump. I haven't even sanitized the parts yet.

ETA: these Gap maternity tanks are also great for PP layering; stretchy and pulls down easy to nurse in
