Today was a much better ultrasound. He has a strong heartbeat and the doctor said everything looks okay. They want to do an MRI on him in 2 weeks though. Kind of concerns me a bit because of all the radiation and of the doctor says it's okay, why do they want to do it? We had the surgery at a teaching hospital so we're apart of a study now which makes me think that's why they might want to do it. But little man looked good to me so I'm taking it a day at a time. Now, my home is right on the major path for hurricane Matthew. Haven't had one of these in quite some time, hopefully we don't lose power for long or our homes in general like last time. I'll keep everyone updated weekly with appointments
@alexxapplepiee So glad to hear the doctor's appointment went well. Hopefully, Hurricane Matthew will die down a bit before it makes landfall or won't hit your area too bad. Definitely been thinking about you a lot, and thank you for keeping us updated!
@alexxapplepiee praise God!! So glad you were finally able to have a good ultrasound! YAY for a healthy heartbeat. Prayers for continued healthy growth and be for you all as you hunker down for the storm
I'm so glad you had a good ultrasound! and you're probably right about the reason they want to do an MRI. I hope you guys aren't impacted by the hurricane and thanks again for the update
Such wonderful news!! Really appreciate the updates. Praying for smooth sailing from here on out for yall.
Definitely make sure yall are stocked, prepped and safe for the worst case with Matthew. But hopefully as pp mentioned it dies down and/or misses your area.
So glad your ultrasound went well and your little boy is looking strong! Thanks so much for keeping us updated on how things are going!

Hey!!! Hope the hurricane doesn't take down your power!!! Thinking of you! Glad baby boy is doing good!!!! I've never heard of MRI for pregnancy before...
I'm very sorry for your loss. Praying for Baby B that he continues growing strong! Hopefully the MRI will go smoothly and the doctors can see what they are looking for (whatever that is).
Baby boy's first hurricane. There's one for the baby book! Hope you guys stay safe and hope you get to enjoy your pregnancy now for a while. I'm sure it's been so hard, and you deserve to experience the good parts of all of this too. Continued t&p for you and fam.
Praising God for a healthy heartbeat from baby b! Praying for you as you weather the storm as well and as you continue us with testing and such for baby.
@alexxapplepiee I've got hopefully some more comfort for you.. I have a degree in MRI and there is NO radiation at all from MRI. So don't worry about that. It's electromagnetic radiation which is not harmful. Ionizing radiation is the bad stuff and that is only from CT and X-RAY.
Thank you ladies if you happen to watch the news and see stuff on Hurricane Matthew, my little town is called Fort Pierce, FL so look out for updates on me!
@mrsyimster I am doing great! Power flickered off and on but stayed strong through the whole storm. Lots of trees down and such but that's expected. I have had a hell of a weekend helping my Mom and my in laws clean up after the storm. Of course I'm supervising more than working lol. The wind was pretty intense but we have such worse hurricanes in the past.
Not gonna lie, we had the mattress in the living room since it was the safest room with the dogs. The noise from the wind through the shutters made it sound worse than it was in my opinion lol
Hi ladies had another appointment today and our little man has a strong heart beat and is showing normal brain activity! Next week, we have the ultrasound and MRI. They measured him today and I'm showing at exactly 20 weeks, which would technically make me a February mommy but I'm much happier here with you guys
Woohoo! Keep fighting little guy!! Thanks so much for keeping us updated @alexxapplepiee
