@Jab3 I too have been having extreme carpel tunnel pain in my right hand; it just started yesterday. It's very painful, but it helps if I elevate my arm. I noticed my ankles have started to swell and are somewhat tingling as well I'm going to try to increase my water intake and hopefully that will help. If the ct persisits going to have to look into a brace.
Wtf is wrong with my doctor then? What they did was send in a prescription for sudafed to the pharmacy for me on the condition that I only take it when I absolutely need to (which is everyday right now anyway so that's stupid.) She said it's huge no no during first tri, but since I'm in 2nd tri now it's okay to use sparingly. Fuck that, I'm just not even going to pick it up. Oh well. I'll just have to suck it up and deal.
I think common sense wise, I need to decrease my salt intake and increase the water which I'm being a baby about and struggling to do both. And I think carpal tunnel might be at play too. Isn't that only with one hand though, not both? Ah whatever, sounds like what it is. I will bring up the possibility of a vitamin b deficiency with my OB when I go in on the 26th, thanks @AfKash for mentioning.
My allowed medicine list specifically calls out allowing pseudo-ephedrine Sudafed (30-60mg) after three months. But, it also ok's Robitussin DM, which the pharmacist at my store totally disapproved of when I asked. I think that it's tough to get a 100% answer on a lot of specific drugs; there just isn't a ton of evidence either way. I've been avoiding everything I can, even though I almost gave in on the tussin. Just daily Claritin and the rare Tylenol to get me through. And, whining... lots and lots of whining.
@jab3 my allergist said he would only recommend Sudafed to me if congestion was very severe and I couldn't breathe, but I'd have to see him in the office, first So I don't think your doctor is terribly crazy for recommending it to you. Have you tried taking Zyrtec? In addition, I also take Singulair which is a category B. Since you don't want to take Sudafed, I recommend drinking lots of water (hot tea), using humidifier, and the netI pot. Good luck!!
I've tried Zyrtec too, but not Singulair. I will try the other things you suggested too. I never thought to run a humidifier this time of year, but it def couldn't hurt to try so I will!
@Jab3 Sadly I haven't talked to my employer yet, I did get some advice from another woman who had been pregnant in the same department about two years ago now and she did say that my manager is pretty good about making accommodations for pregnant women like herself. The last few times I've done the fryers I've been okay, and when I last had a boil out one of the gentlemen who cooks the Chinese food in the next department over was kind enough to take out my oil buckets for me Probably by mid October I'll be saying something though because I should be getting bigger and feeling more body changes by that time.
On a random note in regards to symptoms, my appetite came back today! I was able to eat three full meals! I'm oddly excited about that.
@jab3 when my hands and feet fall asleep frequently it's a sign that I'm not getting enough calcium. When it's really bad my face has fallen asleep and that required hospital intervention. I know I'm susceptible bc I've lost many parathyroid glands from multiple neck surgeries so I'm not sure if people without that can have that happen but I'd think if you had low calcium symptoms would be similar. Doctors can check calcium levels with a blood test though or you could just take a couple tums each day or drink an extra glass of milk and see if that helps.

WTF is happening. I'm only 16 weeks but I'm uncomfortable. I feel kind of achy/crampy a lot. My lower back hurts. Doesn't this shiit wait until 30 weeks?!?!?!

I'm a FTM but in my experience so far you'll have good days and bad days but my back has started to hurt for sure. Moving or exercise helps, so does sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees. Good luck!

I'm a FTM. My back started hurting, I believe, at 14 or 15 weeks. I also get cramps all the time. Every person's body is different. None of us are going to be "textbook cases." I wouldn't worry too much. Take lots of breaks and be easy on yourself. Bring it up to your doc at the next visit.
Oh I know I'm just biitching because I didn't feel this way this early before. I'm not worried, just using this thread to complain because it's BS - these were more like week 30 symptoms!

@NiceyMeany I am well overdue for a massage. I hope the lady I see doesn't laugh when I ask her to focus on my butt. Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely have to try that. I've heard of the foam roller helping, I just haven't gotten off my couch long enough to go out and buy one...

She won't laugh - it's a major muscle group! And has become and important part of my massages lately too.
