@grapeskittles4lyfe Yes, it'll be pretty straight forward to find a used milking stand or just make one with $20 of lumber--we just need to find the time to do it. Yet another item on the never-ending time-sensitive to do list!
@Xstatic3333 Never give up on goat dreams. Goats are the best.
I've finally joined the stuffy nose club It seems to have all started when DH and I were doing some organizing in the garage. Some dust was stirred up and It triggered a bit of allergies and some sneezing. That brought on a bloody nose for a couple days. Not blood running out or anything, but there would be blood when I blow my nose. That is a normal thing for me when I have allergies, so I wasn't too alarmed, although this was worse than normal, but I know nosebleeds are more common during pregnancy. The bleeding went away, and now for a couple days I've been stuffed up and my nose hurts like I got punched or something. It's super sore kind of in the middle just below where my glasses sit. So weird! Has anyone else had this?
3. Rants/raves/questions
I'm pretty sure I've been feeling some movement the last few days! Feels like little muscle twitches, but consistently in the same area, so I'm becoming more convinced it's the baby moving!
@MrsDramaK I did, right at about 15 weeks. The consistency changed too, if that makes sense. They were alarmingly stiff, and now they feel like boobs again.
Symptom-wise, I feel ... Actively better than usual!? It's pretty awesome. It's almost like a constant post-workout buzz. It rocks. I may need to be pregnant more often, lol.
I do get incredible stabby pains in my ute when something pushes my waistband into me for a while. I found that out the hard way after kneeling on the floor to rummage in a bottom drawer. It felt like someone ripped both ovaries out with a charlie horse. I've decided to never do that again, lol.
Ha, I don't blame you. By November, it will be very uncomfortable to be sitting in a car for 5-6 hours even if you do stretch your legs every so often.
My last pregnancy, I drove to Toronto at 22 weeks and I was absolutely miserable. I ended up with a stiff back for the whole 3 days we were there!
I travel for work a lot. My project through the end of the year involves driving to Louisville and back every week... a 5 hr drive. So, weeks 17-32. Oh sheesh.
@marriedhamstermom and @tishb thank you so much for the advice and yes, it makes sense to take it easy. Also, just for the record, my H does help a lot with lifting and stuff. I brought in the groceries yesterday by myself because he wasn't home. However, I did leave the really heavy stuff in the car for him to bring in. And I'm also stubborn....when I want things done I want them done. Sometimes I dint feel like waiting for him to help me which I know, I'm working on that. Rather be safe than sorry.
@MrsDramaK lol. My boobs have not stopped hurting since before I even got the BFP. They are just super sore all the time, nonstop.
@Amber_Waves your goats are so cute!!! Thank you got sharing their picture! What other animals do you have?
@imalwaysme79 ummm that doctor who read your U/S is the biggest idiot. I don't know what else to say. Like, was he half asleep or something? Or maybe he was high. I dunno.
Also, @marriedhamstermom , I know the pillows are expensive but I'm telling you, they are totally worth it. I've seen other women who also didn't want to spend that much money but when they finally did give in and purchase the pillow, they wished that they had made the purchase sooner. You can try to look for discounts. I know Bed Bath and Beyond carries the Snoogle and they are always sending out 20% off coupons. You can also check Amazon. I got my Leachco off of Amazon for $80, I think. Plus, is you're planning on having more kids, the pillow is definitely worth the investment.
@Amber_Waves do you have any colleges nearby to post a want ad for a goat assistant? It might sound weird to some, but I helped out on an alpaca farm in undergrad, just in exchange for the experience. I helped trim alpaca hooves! I was applying to vet school and it was a resume builder.

@AfKash We also have a dog, 2 barn cats, 8 free-range chickens, and a fish. The dog, cats, and goats are all rescues. Everyone coexists very peacefully so long as the goats and chickens stay in the backyard and the dog stays in the front yard--the cats go everywhere but inside the house.
@FreshBakedBrownies That's a good idea, but we only have the two goats, so it's just 15 minutes of work every 3-4 months, not worth trying to hook up with the local ag or vet colleges. My husband has probably already talked a friend into helping.
I never expected to learn about goats on this thread! Lol!
Yay for flutters! I am just over 16 weeks now, and though I have been feeling some fluttering and moving, I thought I felt a couple of taps this weekend. It startled me.
@blush64, how early have you had Braxton Hicks with other pregnancies? That sounds a lot like what you are describing. Hopefully your family doctor can help, but I might be pushing to see your OB sooner.

2. Feeling better the past few days, still trying to manage my low blood sugar and to take my medicine consistently. My OB gave me a sample of gummy prenatals (that have iron) so hopefully I can keep those down. I also got a sample of diclegis (sp?) But i haven't taken it yet. The nausea is more related to eating habits than random pregnancy crappiness.
I am more tired again, and having trouble remembering anything. This is not helping my work situation!
3. I am irritated that it is going to be in the 90s this week, we had a taste of fall last week and I loved it. I have an order coming from Kohls that hopefully will fit.
Married - 7/29/06 Ben and Maggie - 4/10/09 Mia - 6/16/11 Surprise! due 2/23/17
Ahhh we had a beautiful humid free weekend. And now it's 100° feels like 120° with lots of humidity. Obviously it's an ozone action day over here. I'm certainly not stepping out of the house.
2. What are your symptoms like? Most of the usual stuff: Round ligament pain, heartburn, insomnia... But also, as of this past Friday, I've also had some brown spotting (or maybe it's more like brown discharge). TMI, I know and I'm sorry. But anything resembling blood is kind of freaking me out. I saw the on call OB over the weekend, but she said that my cervix is closed and long and that the placenta is nowhere near the opening of the cervix. And the baby was moving around a lot and the heartbeat was good. So basically she couldn't tell me why I might be having this. But I'm going on day 5 of this and it's getting heavier. Aka I'm getting even more anxious.
@srscott3 Obviously everyone is different, but spotting similar to what you're describing has happened to me 3 times this pregnancy. The first two times it last about a week each, then just stopped and went back to normal. The 3rd time they think was normal post-sex spotting.
Each time they just told me to be on complete pelvic rest, off my feet as much as possible- no exercise, and to stay very hydrated.
Are you having any pains or cramping? My doc wouldn't even bring me in as long as it's brown and no cramping.
Try not to stress, as long as they checked and baby is ok, it will probably quit in a day or two.
@WinchesterGirl thank you, that's definitely reassuring to know that this isn't completely uncommon. I've had this two other times in this pregnancy as well, but each time was post-sex and it only lasted a day.
My OB put me on pelvic rest, and when I'm at home I'm completely useless. But I'm also a 3rd year law student, so I'm still going to classes. Thankfully I just have to sit there though.
I had cramping on Saturday, but I'm pretty sure that was from the pelvic exams I had.
I know the baby is okay and she gave us more u/s pictures, so I keep focusing on it's cute little face. I guess the increase in the amount is what was worrying me most. It's almost as heavy as a period, but brown Trying not to stress too much though.
@srscott3 Thinking of you and hoping the spotting subsides soon. I really have nothing to add to help alleviate your concerns. As an attorney though, 3L year of LS is a joke and I strongly encourage skipping a few classes this week for the sake of your baby. It's still early in the semester
Hahahaha @Patience7150 thank you for that! You sound just like my classmates I will definitely be skipping a few until this goes away and then taking it easy otherwise
So you know how I said I'd take it easy? Nope. Husband was out today so I decided to clean the entire apartment the way I like it to be cleaned because husband does not do a good job. Now I'm paying for it with a really sore back. I need to take a chill pill with my OCD.
For years I've occasionally had to crack my sternum (like cracking my knuckles, but just sternum). Usually I just pull my arms behind my back and push out my chest. It usually cracks after a few times, relieving whatever painful pressure I feel.
My sternum hurt last night and I tried to crack it. It didn't work. It's super painful. I've Googled a few idea, but I'm a FTM so somewhat hesitant to try some of the ideas since nothing is mentioned about pregnancy. I was hoping someone had reassurances or ideas to help. So far I just took some Tylenol to deal with the pain.
Have you been experimenting with them at this point? I've had a few days where I felt good, so I didn't take my zofran (but still took diclegis) and *every. time.* that I skip it that day, I am throwing up the next day. It sucks because I hate dissolving the zofran and it makes me miserable. But I think I have to stay on it even on good days to not have bad days! Anyone else? I haven't tried skipping the diclegis yet.
@purplewriter when you say you Crack your sternum, which part of it exactly are you cracking? Is it the xyphoid process at the bottom? I would be very careful because the xyphoid can break very easily.
That's awesome @concreteangell! We'll be heading there soon enough. It's a 5-6 drive so not bad in non-pregnant times. We decided to go to our local ComiCon instead. @SciFichick09 will feel me on that decision.
So much catching up to do!
@Xstatic3333 I totally feel you and am completely jealous. Our local comicon is several hours away and we haven't made it there since we moved here (4 years ago). Last time I went to Comic Con was in San Diego when I was in high school and that was the most amazing thing ever. Comic Con is always the best decision, no matter the location
@Starfishh113 I am having this same problem with the leaking pee. I saw my OB yesterday and took the opportunity to ask her about it, she said it sounds normal and unfortunately may get worse as my pregnancy progresses yay me.

Ugh. This did NOT happen to me last time... no fun!
@purplewriter when you say you Crack your sternum, which part of it exactly are you cracking? Is it the xyphoid process at the bottom? I would be very careful because the xyphoid can break very easily.
I have no idea. My knowledge of anatomy comes from crime drama shows and basic stuff.
I just have some pressure/pain that feel like I need to stretch until I hear a pop sound and then the pressure is gone.
@Starfish113 I tried coming off diclegis 3 weeks ago and it did not go well. The first couple days were meh and I thought I'd be fine, but the next couple of days I threw up more than when I had first started on it! Tried the unisom at night and that didn't cut it so I refilled the diclegis.
After that experience, there was no way I was just stopping cold turkey again. What I've been doing instead is dropping one pill at a time, then waiting a few days to see how I feel after the amount in my system has decreased. If I still feel good I drop another pill, if I feel worse I add it back in and try again in a week.
I think your most reasonable options are to either try missing a zofran once a week to see if you're ready to come off it, then work your way off the diclegis, or try weaning yourself off the diclegis and when that's successful, try again with the zofran. I've never been on zofran before, is it one that you could get a lower dose to try (or safely cut the pill)? If so, that could be another option.
@silvercamaro77, I'm not trying to wean off the pills!! I might have been unclear. I just keep thinking my m/s is gone because I've been feeling good, but if I skip even one zofran I am puking the next day. So I was just curious if anyone else has tried going without one and is finding their m/s is still very much still there. Which mine clearly is! But I am thankful if I stay strong to my regimen I'm doing pretty good!! With DD I was still puking at delivery.
@silvercamaro77 I actually did that the past two nights. I skipped the Unisom thinking nausea is better. But nope, today I'm nauseous again. So I'm going back to the Unisom tonight.
@AfKash I was worried about becoming dependent on the unisom for sleep as well, so I skipped a night to see where I was with needing it for ms and that was a fail as I felt like crap the next day. A week later I decided to half the unisom and I found the half dose doesn't really make me sleepy but I still feel good the next day. Maybe give that a try.
I'm also still on all 3 of my pills. The longest I've gone without throwing up since it started in week 6 is about 2 1/2 days. If I can go over a week with no sickness on the pills, then I will start thinking about dropping one dose.

Yeah, definitely haven't made it a whole week yet. Gonna keep myself fully pumped with meds for the long haul for now!

@purplewriter I'm not a doctor but I play one on the Internet. Part of being pregnant is your joints relaxing (I think the actual hormone is called relaxin) so like I used to be able to crack my back one zillion different places and now I can like maybe once a day.
@Starfish113 ask about the non-dissolvable zofran when you get a refill! The dissolving zofran makes me so much sicker because my mouth gets all watery as it dissolves, it's just gross. So I always get it in the swallow form. They will probably warn you that "it doesn't work as fast" and it's probably true, but it definitely does just as good and no nasty dissolving!
Headaches. What do you do for them? I dont remember them being this bad with my first pregnancy. I hate taking drugs for things so I usually will just tough it out, but I might have to give in if this doesn't let up. They feel like dehydration headaches I get, but drinking water doesn't help like it used to. I feel like such a baby, any change in position causes throbbing pain. So frustrating.
