As a 4th year medical student who has scrubbed in on a lot of c sections- I wouldn't watch the videos unless you really need to. C sections are very safe, but knowing exactly what is happening may only freak you out. Even as a medical professional, I know if I need one I will be thinking about all the layers being cut open while it's happening and I don't think that will be pleasant!
I agree with others on not needing things like a nursery bedding set, a diaper genie, a ton of toys, etc. I also never used baby shoes. Mine never wore shoes until they actually started walking. I liked the baby bath tubs, having a nice diaper bag and the monitor. The other stuff like swings and bouncers it's tough to predict. I've had one love certain things that the other couldn't stand. It really does depend on the baby.
On this note, I'm assuming that with February babies, we will have babies using socks a lot. Prepared for those things to disappear unnaturally fast. I don't know what it is about babies socks, but I swear, I couldn't keep them together for the life of me.

Washing machines will suck the socks and small clothing into the holes. Put your baby clothes in a garment bag in the washer, this will cut down at least some of the disappearing socks.... but seriously they seem to just vanish no matter what, so yes yes yes, have lots of socks lol

I used "sock ons" with my first (an October baby). It helps keep the socks on their feet. It doesn't help with losing socks in the wash (I have a whole slew of unmatched socks - what happened to plain white socks?!?!? Everything for kids is patterned).
I particularly liked the sock ons for daycare so she wouldn't lose socks at daycare.
