Re: Beta Testing August 2016

  • @ConstanceGoodspeed Are you nervous about graduating at 8 weeks? (I do believe I've seen most people do it at 10 weeks, which is when I would do it if I make it that far) And yay for seeing a heartbeat! That must have been so exciting! Did you get to hear it? If not, will you get to hear it next time?

    @MarlyHC Good luck tomorrow! I hope you get awesome news!

  • @babylonghorn16 and @Happydays13 Thanks for the reassurances :smile:.  I had seen women talking about their meds getting adjusted after beta and @AandDM2014 brought up a good point, but I'll just continue trusting my clinic.  They've gotten me this far!  I'll see if they check my levels before telling me to stop the meds.

    @happydays13 it is going to be so strange going two full weeks without a check-in!  I'm going to have to keep myself occupied.  Only 9 more days until your ultrasound!

    @ConstanceGoodspeed Congrats on seeing the heartbeat!  That just sounds wonderful.

    @MarlyHC Good luck at beta tomorrow!!!!
    Me:27 DH:28
    Married in August 2013 <3
    IVF w/PGD to rule out a genetic disorder
    First IVF cycle: ER 6/20/16 (42 eggs retrieved, 31 mature, 27 fertilized with ICSI, 9 frozen and biopsied)
    Results: 3 embies passed both PGD & PGS testing (2 boys and a girl :)).
    FET on 8/2/16, transferred our girl embryo.
    Beta on 8/11: 124!!  Second Beta on 8/15: 1,117.  First ultrasound (7 weeks) scheduled for 8/30.
  • @LittleSunshine Just wait until you graduate to an OB, and they don't see you for A MONTH! Now that is scary! And I'm sure your clinic knows what they are doing, it just makes me wonder if mine over checks things. I don't know if having PCOS affect my meds, because my body really doesn't want to naturally produce these hormones, but that may be why I'm checked every week.

  • Congrats to all the BFP! This is my first cycle here and it's so inspiring to see all these BFP in one place!

    @Christianner - isn't your beta today? fx!

    I just had my first IUI on Monday and go in on 8/29 for my beta. I added myself to the spreadsheet. I am trying to keep myself occupied and not focus on every agonizing minute of the TWW. I dont think I have the self- control to avoid POAS. I am also took progesterone suppositories for the first time last night and I think I woke up every hour. Is that a typical thing?

    scheduled beta test tomorrow at 10:45am instead of hpt at home. Fx
  • I've been slow to jump in this month, just been busy, but my first beta after my 8/6 IUI is hopefully Monday (last cycle it was scheduled for Monday, and AF came on Saturday).  I'm going to probably POAS on Sunday just to see if anything pops up.  IDK, I agree with pp's it's a rollercoaster, but this time around I'm pretty sure it didn't take for some reason, I just have a feeling, so I'm not too hopeful.  Guess we'll see.

  • @madasm0530 I went to work after my Beta test.
    @APM_SLP Sorry about the CP

    I had my apt with the Doc on Tuesday. I think I hold myself together pretty well when I have a BFN but DH thinks differently. The apt felt like a little gang up on me day but it was ok some of the stuff said was pretty on key. He reminded me that its not failure its a miss. We have many more chances to make the shot life isn't over on a couple of misses. There is nothing I can do to MAKE it work. There's not enough pineapple core, or fuzzy socks to MAKE it work so stop stressing about the little stuff.
    He did mention using essential oils to relax and help with the anxiety of the TWW. Has anyone tried this? I googled some yesterday and found some concoctions good for relaxing the uterus and the mind. A mix of Crampbark, Partidgeberry, Black Haw Bark and Oat Flowers called UteriCalm. Most stuff I found says do not use after ovulation, that's not what we need lol.

  • @madasm0530 Do you know what time approximately you'll get the call? If so, would you be able to have your lunch break then (if it's not too late of course), so that you can step outside to get the call? I don't think I'd want to be in an office with others when getting the call. I personally would say work from home if your employer is okay with it!

    Negative. I'm super bummed but it was our first IUI. hopefully by fine tuning meds we'll have a better shot next time.

    A wine, pizza and movie night is in my future.

    Thank you you ladies for all your support. I am so grateful to be a part of such and amazing community.

  • I'm sorry @madasm0530 , I wish you the best for your next cycle.
  • @Christianner I am so sorry your beta was negative. I'm surprised that with a PGS normal one it didn't take. Hopefully the next one will!

    @madasm0530 I'm sorry your beta was negative. Hopefully med adjustments will help next time!
