@babylonghorn16 Our doctor hates us: he says no sex until after they see the heartbeat, at like 6 weeks along. We did have sex last week though before beta, because we're naughty and actually like each other and having sex! I think no sex until after ultrasound may be relatively common though as I've seen other ladies post about that too.

@babylonghorn16 I asked my doc about the cramps. It's likely from the progesterone but could also be your belly stretching out. They told me not to worry. I still get them from time to time, so don't fret!
@Christianner 5 days is way too soon! I took several hpts, but I was not discouraged with negatives. If the results cause stress, then I would not take them.

@babylonghorn16 - ours said no sex til after beta, a friend at a different clinc was to abstain until heartbeat. Seems like there is variability...how are you guys handling sex with all the vaginal Meds? I'm worried about exposing DH to a ton of estrogen and progesterone...so we've had to figure out some work arounds. Any advice appreciated!

@JAH87 and @K_Van1521 - I understand completely! I am one of 5 sisters (right in the middle by age) and the only one never financially dependent on my parents as an adult. Most recently 2 of my sisters were living in homes paid for by my parents and have 6 kids between them...and some days I feel like I'm being punished for waiting to have kids until I have a loving partner I can depend on and have the financial stability to take care of another life, but try to take those moments to breathe and believe that I'll be a better parent now than I would've earlier in life and that this is the right time for me...and keeping you from seeing your Neice is so wrong! I have 13 all together and love them all so much.

@Christianner - mostly agree with pp regarding hpts before beta, but really depends on what your attitude is about it and if it will stress you out. I tested early on my first iui but not my second (we were in month 5 of our attempts with 3 cycles cancelled because all the dominant follicles were on the side of my blocked tube - and I knew I was so emotionally raw, that a negative test would have destroyed me. With this FET, I didn't test until 6dp5dt. Really more because I had a stack of tests at home and really looked at it as a science experiment. Was negative in the morning and positive that night. All that said, stress is bad for you and for baby, so if taking a test will add to your stress, definitely DONT DO IT!

@AandDM2014@K_Van1521 thanks! So much variance! I think we will take it easy, but if the moment presents itself, we probably won't shy away!
@cmm012 thank you! Good to know I'm not alone! Praying it's just my uterus making a good home. Can't wait until sonogram!
@Happydays13 I'm only taking 2mg of estrogen vaginally, so I don't really think abt it too much! When I was on progesterone vaginally during my fresh transfer, we didn't really have sex... just made me feel too gross. I was never in the mood! That's why I prefer PIO... one shot and then done worry abt it for the rest of the day! Hope yall figure out something! Maybe sexy time without vagina? Lol ugh there's not a great answer! GL!

@Happydays13, I am the same way! I adore me nieces and nephewS. I spoil and try to do as much with them as I can. And I can say my DH and I are def the favorite Aunt and Uncle! My twins boy(he's 8), said "Aunt Karen your like the funnest Aunt ever, you would be the best Mom!" Made me cry he did! I try to console myself by being as involved with them as I can!
With that said, I am totally freaking out about our beta tomorrow! I hardly slept last night. DH is so convinced it's positive. I'm trying to keep it real; but positive. Ugh. I've also been crampy on and off. Sometimes I'm convinced AF is there... We are going to be at the lab as soon as they open!
@K_Van1521 - sending good and sticky vibes that you'll have a nice number tomorrow! and I have also recieved the "best aunt ever" award, but can't wait to turn that into the best mom award - for both of us!
@babylonghorn16 - yep...we are having to be a bit more creative, not that thats a bad thing!

@babylonghorn16 I still am experiencing some occasional cramping! The morning after my beta, I actually woke up from cramping because it was so sharp, but it only lasted a minute or two. It is kind of scary, but seems normal since so many of us are experiencing it!
AFM: There is nothing I can do about it now, so I think I'm just looking for some reassurances from you ladies - I had a big test Saturday morning so was unable to go to my clinic for my 2nd beta. My nurse said no big deal, I could get my blood drawn somewhere else and then we wouldn't be able to look at the results until Monday. I thought she also made mention of sending me some paperwork, but never did. Saturday rolls around, I take my test, and then called my Dr.'s office. The only thing open was urgent care, and at that point I figured I didn't really know what to ask them to do or where to send it, and since my clinic wouldn't look at the results until Monday anyway I would just go get my blood drawn then. I emailed my nurse, but haven't heard back since no one is in the office. I am hopeful I didn't mess anything up . Do you all think it's fine not to have a 2nd beta 48 hours after the first?
Me:27 DH:28 Married in August 2013 IVF w/PGD to rule out a genetic disorder First IVF cycle: ER 6/20/16 (42 eggs retrieved, 31 mature, 27 fertilized with ICSI, 9 frozen and biopsied) Results: 3 embies passed both PGD & PGS testing (2 boys and a girl ). FET on 8/2/16, transferred our girl embryo. Beta on 8/11: 124!! Second Beta on 8/15: 1,117. First ultrasound (7 weeks) scheduled for 8/30.
@littlesunshine I'm sure it's fine - my second beta is scheduled for 1 week after my first and it's killing me. So if you are more than 48 hours you are totally fine, except for the anxiety!

@LittleSunshine For my previous pregnancy we had a vacation scheduled for months before we knew about it, so I did my beta the morning before we left, then they were fine with doing it a full week later (plus some time since I'd do it in the PM, not the AM). For my own peace of mind I went ahead and scheduled with an outside company, but my clinic was not expecting me to do that. You should be okay. They'll still be able to calculate the amount of time it taking to double.

@MarlyHC and @AandDM2014 Thank you both for making me feel better! I'm going to call my clinic first thing in the morning and hopefully get in right away.
Today is the day for me...I decided yesterday that I wouldn't poas. Yesterday was supposed to be my beta day but my clinic doesn't have a lab open on Sunday's. I had an emotional weekend between the heat and other things that I felt it wasn't going to make me any better by taking a test so I will wait it out at work with the support of my work girls who know today is the day.
It looks like I belong in this thread (I wasn'the sure until this morning!). I am doing an IUI for the first time. Just had my cd 13 US and everything looks great. I have 3 follies, 21, 15.5 and 14. I am hoping the 15 catches up for a better chance of something sticking. The nurse said I will probably trigger tonight and then have two IUIs, Tuesday and Wednesday. That would put my Beta around the 30th-31st. Oh, also, I am a teacher, and lucky me, that is our first day back to school!!! There will be no way to concentrate that day!
It's BFN for us. I'm pretty upset, our infertility journey is over. I am going to look in to some sort of grief counseling. Good luck to all you ladies! Thanks for all the support.
I got a 10 I go back on Wednesday for a recheck but looking like a chemical. It's frustrating but like my nurse and I both mentioned it's better than a zero last time. Just hope that means the only other place we can go from here is a bfp.
Hey there - I am just checking back in. Tomorrow I have my Retrieval and just a little on the nervous side. They are also planning on doing the transfer on Sunday. So it seems like everything is happening fast now, but I am sure I am going to be miserable playing the waiting game.

@K_Van1521 I'm so sorry you got a BFN - I hope that you find what you need in counseling. *hugs*
@rmarble23 Sorry for a number that hasn't left you with a definite answer! If this one doesn't pull through I'm glad that you and your nurse both were on the same page with this being better than last time!!

*TW* I went in for my 2nd beta today - it was not a problem that I went in four days later instead of two. My beta came back at 1,117, which the nurse said was great, and I'm scheduled for my first ultrasound on 8/30! It will be hard to wait that long for a check-in but I am so pleased for a good, strong second number. I also got the end dates for my pills and endometrin, which was also very exciting!!

@LittleSunshine Oh ugh that wait!! At least by then you should have something really good to see and hear! But your second beta is way more than doubling, so that is wonderful! How were you able to get end dates for your meds? Do they not monitor your hormones and reduce/eliminate based on that? Even when I was at 10 weeks along I was still taking both estrace and PIO.

@AandDM2014 Yeah, this wait is going to be tough! They haven't checked my levels since before transfer - the end dates she gave me seem to be right around 10 weeks of pregnancy. Is that weird?? At my beta today they checked my thyroid, but that was it.

Hey everyone. Sorry I have been MIA I usually don't check in on the weekends and I stayed busy yesterday and didn't type. @K_Van1521 I'm sorry about the BFN I know how bad that sucks. @rmarble23 I would rather have atleast a number than a really big fat goose egg. At least a number gives you hope that it will happen at some point.
AFM- I think my wait for AF was worse this time than the TWW. Usually I get it right away after stopping meds but this time it was 6 days later. Sucks. I have my follow up apt today with Dr. J. I know he probably wont have much answers for me but I'd like something maybe a different protocol or more blood work?? I know he's hinting at putting 2 back but DH is 100% against that. We already have one set of twins. DH is going with me today so we will see if Dr. J. can change his mind.

@LittleSunshine How curious that they don't check your levels. Mine get drawn every week at my sonogram appointments to make sure they are at a proper level for medication reduction.
@madasm0530 Good luck lasting until Friday! I personally would advise against POAS, but I like the difinitive number of a beta.
@LittleSunshine my RE's plan is to stop meds at 10 weeks as well. They will probably monitor you before just to make sure all is good. I wouldn't worry too much... you can't compare to others bc everyone's body and situation is completely different. Trust that your RE is doing what is right for YOU! Can't wait to hear beta #s today!!

@LittleSunshine - I'm on progesterone til 10 weeks, and can start weaning estrogen after we see heartbeat. They checked my estrogen and progesterone levels at second beta appointment (Friday). Then checked my estradiol today (they took me off all patches on Friday because it caused a bad rash, and switched me to oral pills, so wanted to make sure it was effective.) but level was fine so no more checks until ultrasound next Wednesday...this is the longest I've gone without a trip to the RE office in a while....which I think makes the waiting that much worse!

GL!

I am hopeful I didn't mess anything up

I went in for my 2nd beta today - it was not a problem that I went in four days later instead of two. My beta came back at 1,117, which the nurse said was great, and I'm scheduled for my first ultrasound on 8/30! It will be hard to wait that long for a check-in but I am so pleased for a good, strong second number. I also got the end dates for my pills and endometrin, which was also very exciting!!
