If any of you have an outlet mall close by, I highly recommend seeing if they have a Motherhood Maternity store. I was visiting family today and stopped by one. Everything was very affordable and all clearance was an additional 50% off. The Destination Maternity/ Pee N the Pod store near me is WAY too expensive, but this stuff was essentially the outlet version of that. I got two pairs of dress pants at $29 a piece, leggings at $18 a piece and many shirts at $10 or under.
I just ordered a crap ton of stuff of asos.com. They have wide variety selection and great return policy. So I over ordered with the intention of returning what doesn't look so good. I have zero clue how to shop for maternity clothes. I am also hesitant since I have no idea how I will carry this baby (i.e. belly, hips, etc). Asos's prices are also fairly budget friendly.
Everything arrives tomorrow and I will update on how things fit.

Please do! I have a few things on there saved as favorites and I'm very curious what they are like!
Asos grade is solid B. I am keeping about half of the stuff I ordered. Most of the pants were to small for my ever expanding ass, but I did score a pair of maternity faux leather leggings.
Some items quality was a bit off. Some size. Some just weren't that cute.
I did get 2 pieces that I LOVE! Floral dress and denim jumper. The jumper is so cute I almost want to wear it everyday.
Omfg @PerraSucia I just snort laughed out loud the hardest I've laughed in a week!!
@krob that's always been my thought too on asos. If I keep half of what I bought, it's a success. Also, one or two pieces end up becoming absolute staples in my wardrobe. One of the things I love about some of my asos demi panel jeans is that they still have normal jeans in the back, with the panel just in the front. These are way more comfy than the all around demi panel.
Why do people not like the panels? I love them. I feel like they give me more support and keep my fat stomach from jiggling too much. A little bit like Spanx.
I had ordered 2 pairs of maternity pants from Gap and oh my goodness were they bad!!! They were a demi-panel which I thought would bother me, but it actually didn't and the fabric was soft, but there was no stretchiness to them other than the panel. I'm a pretty small girl (typically a 0 or 2 in their clothes) and if I had any swelling in my legs they would not have gone on or come back off. Maternity should automatically mean the fabric has some give everywhere!
Also, I just found out PinkBlush Maternity has some of their stuff on Amazon through Prime with free returns. So, if you're uncertain about sizing you can order it through Amazon without having to worry about paying for return shipping if it doesn't fit. Not all of their stuff is on there and of the things that are, not everything is Prime with free returns, so make sure you double check your size and color selection before you order. Pricing seems to be matching up to the prices on the PBM website. I'm sure you probably won't see the clearance/sales on Amazon, but it does get around that pesky return shipping issue if it doesn't fit (which has been one of my bigger hangups about ordering from them).
Got the 2 dresses I ordered from Pink Blush. They look like they'll fit through a few stages of pregnancy and they're pretty cute. BUTTTT one of them was ripped! I called customer service expecting to 1. not get the same dress because it was $130 dress I got on sale for $27 and doubted they'd have more and 2. I'd have to pay to return in. They said they would refund me and I didn't have to send it back in, just "donate or dispose of it". HA I'm gunna sew that shit myself, FREE DRESS!
@Afkash I was originally against full panels mostly because they made me too hot. But now that the weather is starting to cool off and my belly is getting bigger, I ONLY wear full panel.
In the next 2 weeks it'll be to a point where I need something other than my current clothes. So STM, TTM whathaveyou: Is it better to get maternity pants/jeans or to get a belly band? I'm torn and don't know which is really better and more bang for the buck
@jlellis603 I am a FTM, so I have no prior experience, but I can tell you that I have one pair of maternity jeans and wear a belly band with my work pants. The jeans are WAY more comfortable and I'm honestly starting to get annoyed with the belly and, it's starting to get uncomfortable and cumbersome. I'm constantly having to adjust it.
@jlellis603 I tend to think a belly band is worth it, but you'll still end up with maternity pants. With my first pregnancy I comfortably used the belly band until about 20 weeks before I needed any maternity pants. With DS I think I switched to maternity clothes earlier because I had kept them all and I was bigger faster. I also used the belly band for a while after delivery because my leftover tummy was too small to hold the maternity pants up but there was no chance I was getting my pre-preg clothes to fasten.
With this baby, I've been rocking the belly band for 3 weeks and am dying for some regular maternity pants because I can't even the start the zippers on my pants and that makes them uncomfortable when I'm sitting. Even if I don't use this belly band after delivery I feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of it.
Maternity pants are so so comfy, but by the end of pregnancy most people are sick of seeing them because they've worn them so much.
@scifichick09 and @silvercamaro77 thank you! I was thinking about maybe getting both so you guys really drove that home for me. I'm trying to justify buying myself maternity clothes and stuff because all I can think is "I could be saving this money for the baby". But I need to be comfortable and not wear PJs to work right ?
I just bought a tunic from a brand called frumos. It's like $13 on Amazon. I bought it in my regular size but it's so flowy I think it will work the whole 9 months and be good for pp too.
I've heard good things about Lularoe stuff. My friends that are due January and October both rave about the stuff they have, they say that it fits during and after your pregnancy, since almost everything has a yoga waistband (so built in belly band) and the dresses and tops are loose and flowy. A friend is having a party tomorrow so I'm going to try it out.
Cami/undershirt...I feel like buying ruched ones would become uncomfortable under another shirt. Is it better to buy larger normal camis or find non ruched maternity camis? Mine are already starting to wiggle up throughout the day.

Does anyone have suggestions for expanding the type of pants with two metal clips above the zipper (like most Banana Republic styles) instead of a button? I have to wear something other than jeans tomorrow and none of my dresses will hide the bump.

Do you have a target near you? A belly band should help with a lot of pants!
My pants no longer fit and I am having the hardest time finding maternity pants that come in long length! The ones I ordered from Old Navy fit terribly and Gap seems to be sold out of almost all sizes in the longs. Anyone else needing the long inseams having better luck than I am?
So I got back a ton of maternity clothes from a friend who had borrowed from me when we were done. I am quite a bit heavier than I was, so I am not sure what will fit. I washed everything and grabbed a pair of capris that are tight, but will work. They have a demi panel and I am realizing the hazard of a tight demi band when your bump isn't fully hardened yet. . . I have an extra lump now, lol. Luckily I am not leaving the house today.
@lfrank12 I have nothing to add, but I can commiserate! I was just at the mall and tried on what felt like a million pairs of pants. Flood pants, all of them. I'd also be interested in hot tips on where to find long lengths.
I think motherhood maternity has tall sizes. I have the opposite issue- needing petite so I don't typically pay a ton of attention for talls, but I'll keep an eye out as I'm shopping around.
Has anyone here tried Le Tote Maternity? I should be getting my first box today. Essentially, it costs $69 a month for unlimited boxes of clothes. You pick your box, wear, return and they send you another one. Since I'm hardly interested in wearing clothes from my last pregnancy, I thought this would be worth a try (and I don't have to invest in work clothes that I won't wear again).
My quest continues they closed our Macy's here ... Which helped a ton last pregnancy so it's all mail order for me! Waiting on my Old Navy order and the rest of my Walmart order.
Pants are the worst - I need plus size and for whatever reason they are super hard to find! Especially for under $50 ! This momma needs 1 pair of jeans!
Has anyone tried Lularoe leggings during pregnancy? If so, did you do the one size or tall & curvy (to go over the bump)? I'm not in maternity yet, but I'm sure it's coming in the next few weeks and I got rid of all my old maternity clothes since they'd had it. I hate buying maternity and like to make real clothes stretch as much as possible (no pun intended). Thanks!
@becbec28 I just received my first box (just in time for a work trip). Everything fit and the styles look great/cover a small bump (even though the models are shown with large bellies). Very flowy material which is always nice during this awkward bump/blump phase.
I plan on bringing everything thing with me and returning it from Chicago next week after I wrap up my meetings. As soon as they scan the shipping code on the return package, they will put your next box together and ship it out.I'm hoping to get about 4 boxes in each month for the monthly fee. So far, I'm loving it!
