@scifichick09 I just wore regular bras and sports bras. I'm an awkward size and my cup size went up but not my band size and couldn't find any maternity bras in store. I figured if I was spending the money on a bra it didn't need to be maternity specific.
Oh wow, good to know about the annual fee! I ordered a pair of Zara jeans so we'll see how that goes. I luckily kept a pair of Pea in a Pod skinny black dress pants from last time. Tops are less of an issue, so I found a couple basics at old navy and since I'm petite and short I can just buy non-maternity longer fit shirts in a larger size. I'm still on the lookout for a skinny black jean (and prefer low panel as the full panel makes me itchy and often comes over top of my bra - even after gaining 55 lbs last time!)
I broke down today and ordered maternity work pants, a pair of jeans, and a couple of long sleeve shirts. The bloat/water retention right now is unreal and I'm in an awkward between-size. My normal pants still fit, but only just. And the knee tore out of my only pair of jeans recently, so it's decent timing at least
@aecmathew@scifichick09 I just bought a couple of pairs of Liz Lange for Target maternity jeans and one pair of shorts, and they fit very comfortably in the thighs. They're super stretchy, too, which I really like. I'm normally a size 8-10 with extremely hearty thighs and butt, and the medium fits really comfortably. I'm already wearing my maternity shorts even though I'm a FTM and I haven't gained any weight. The bloat has been unbelievable, and any pressure at all on my abdomen feels like torture. I gave in and started wearing the shorts over a week ago. They're the under-the-belly kind, so I may not really want to wear them later in my pregnancy, but for now I really don't care.
I'm plus size. Any favorite places for plus-size maternity clothes? I'd prefer inexpensive ones since a maternity bras that's plus size is going to cost an arm & a leg.
I bought a lot of my pregnancy clothes from Motherhood last time. I was lucky to find 80% on the clearance or sales rack. I wasn't a huge fan of their pants, but that was a good 6 years ago now. Hopefully they've improved!!

I've spent a lot of time looking at the websites you all recommended (thanks!), and am finding myself increasingly confused. S/M/L/XL in jeans!? How the heck is that supposed to work? I think I need to try some stuff on in person before I online shop, which makes me sad because I loathe in-person shopping when I could just click a button and be done with it. I have a weird body type where I'm relatively fit (or was before 1st Tri happened) but my hips thighs are quite large in proportion to the rest of me, so I'm concerned that L would be too tight while XL would be loose and frumpy. I'm usually a 12, or 14 if I slack on exercise for a while, in case anyone out there happens to share my proportions.
Thankfully I just officially onboarded as a LLR consultant, so getting items at wholesale will help quite a bit and works out to be cheaper than a lot of the maternity stuff out there. I just started wearing the Tall and Curvy leggings and just tucking them up like capris, which helps a lot on the length and they give me more room in the belly area! I am probably going to hit up Goodwill tomorrow for some maternity work slacks because the ones I planned on wearing next week when I have to test out all of my Paramedic students for their certification...not fitting so well anymore. I would rather get a cheap pair from Goodwill than be uncomfortable for nearly 12 hours.
Do you have a Ross in your area? I've been checking every week or so to see if they have anything good in their maternity section, I'm trying to start collecting things early as I find deals on clearance so I don't have to drop a bunch of money at once when I actually need the stuff. The maternity section is tiny, but they have some cute stuff and the prices are really good. I got a super comfy pair of pants on clearance for $6.50 and a stretchy tank top for $3.99
I just got a pair of Birkenstock Gizeh sandals and they feel like heaven! I think I'll be living in them this pregnancy and they're pretty cute for supportive shoes. My feel are a whole size bigger after my last pregnancy!
I kept everything from pregnancy #1, but he was born in June - completely different seasons! I need to go through it bc I'm sure there's still plenty I can use this time (as long as it didn't go out of style since 2008-2009 lol). I like your guys' idea of slowing hitting clearance and Ross.
@mnmarcy Yep, my Birkenstocks are all I want to wear right now, so I ordered a pair of the clog style with the shearling lining for winter, that way I can be comfy even when it's cold and I'm huge. They're less cute than the Gizeh, but I don't even care, haha!
I keep looking on pinterest at fall maternity clothes and now I am craving fall. It's going to be high 90's in NYC this weekend. I will likely not leave the house. I heart fall!

Motherhood maternity is having an online sale, so I bought a few pairs of pants and a bra. I am super short, so even though I don't technically need them yet, I'll need time to adjust them.

GAHHHH YES! Pinterest + fall + maternity fashion = heaven.
Triple degree heat index the next three days here in MN (aka...it's in the 80's/90's, but feels in the 100s. I tried to explain this to my VP in Utah today and he did not understand what a heat index is). I'm so ready for cool mornings and warm afternoons.
This is my first pregnancy, hoping some of you more experienced mommas can help me make a decision. I fell in love with a (faux) leather jacket at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If I don't care about zipping it, is it unrealistic to hope I'll be able to wear it this fall and maybe early winter? I don't know how much to expect to balloon. If it helps, I'm fairly slim with a small chest (though it has already grown some), and jackets are usually too big in the chest area on me. Pics because it's...just...so...beautiful.
Sounds like I am a similar build to you. During my first pregnancy, I gained 55 lbs., but still wore the same blazer/jacket (size 0-2) because I was all belly and a bit of swollen legs. Even if your chest grows (and it will...but likely shrink back later!), you're not going to do it up anyways. I would say refrain from buying anything a size up (that you plan to wear post-pregnancy) since you may regret it!
Just FYI... I just purchased a few things from Pink Blush Maternity online today and they are having 50% off their sale items with coupon code FASHIONFIX. I got 5 shirts for $50!
@mporath041815 I shopped their sale last week too and my stuff just came today! I just tried it on and I was coming on here to tell everyone:
BUY PINKBLUSH MATERNITY!!! Their stuff is SUPER cute (for my style) and very true to pre-pregnancy size! I often would wear Medium to Large pre-pregnancy (my top is an 8-10 and bottom is 12-14) so I bought everything in Large because, let's face it, I feel like a hippopotamus right now! There was only one dress that seemed a little big, but its because it's not supposed to be fitted, and when I have more of a bump, I know it will fit perfectly! Most of their stuff looks adorable now (12 weeks pregnant) and I puffed out my belly enough to know that I will easily grow into it all.... SO WORTH IT! It all looks just like it does on the website (beautiful, bright, vibrant colors) and is great quality! If you sign up for emails you get a 15% off coupon, but it seems to me that they almost always have a sale going on and unfortunately you can't double-coupon. Maybe if you buy something full-price it will help? Anyways, if you're looking for clothes, check them out!
@patience21410 Even this early in pregnancy I can't stand anything that adds direct pressure to my stomach so my preference from start to finish is the full panel. The full panel keeps the pressure evenly spread instead of all focusing where the band ends. Also, the full panel gives a tiny bit of extra support which is really helpful when your skin feels like it's going to pop open if it stretches anymore.
@Patience7150 I had DD in August, so the full panels, while comfortable inside, never really saw any action. I think this time around they will be more in use.
I just found out I have a work trip next week. Early morning flight, long day of meeting and presentation, and then a nice dinner out. I can barely stand a normal day in regular pants, so I can barely imagine a 7am-10pm day (including a two-hour flight) will be like. I might need to run out and pick up a pair of maternity dress pants this weekend. #AintNoShame #ComfortFirst

Even with DS who was born in August I preferred full panels, but I'm also inside with a/c for 95% of the day and I'm cold natured to start with. If I had to be outside much in TN heat/humidity, it would be an entirely different story- probably in which I was arrested for indecent exposure because you just can't take enough off to cool down.
I got 3 maternity tops that are so pretty for $36 and free shipping. Pink Blush Maternity. But I would only recommend them when they do the 50% off their clearance items sale, which I did, otherwise they are pricey! I also ordered cute maternity jeans from Walmart....I get those this week so I will let you know if they are awesome or not.
I've been wearing nothing but stretchy sundresses and I'm really worried about the fall. I've gained some weight too and I know nothing will fit. Plus I really hate anything putting even slight pressure on my stomach. Blahhhh...I guess I should start looking....
Isn't it the cutest? And I love that it's made up of such basic pieces. I am terrible at being able to coordinate outfits but this is easily something I would have in my closet.
