  • @ignoscemihi.. same here, except replace nausea with acid reflux. Bring on the Tums

  • I've been overdoing the sweets lately as well. I gained 60 pounds with DD and I keep telling myself that I need to make better choices to avoid a huge weight gain with this baby, but I just can't stop eating things that are bad for me.
  • I'm with you all on the sweets wagon. :(  I had a donut this morning.  And last night I had ice cream.... I made the mistake of hopping on the scale after my workout today. :(:(:(  It's giving me anxiety seeing the numbers go up so fast.
  • I know it's old news that people say rude stuff to pregnant women but GOD I hate all these weird statements! Someone at work just told me they were surprised I'm carrying "all baby" aka just my belly (thanks, it's because I puke all the time dummy) and that she thought I would have gained a bunch of weight in my face by now. WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? You sit around thinking about how fat my face is going to get? Also, I'm plus-sized to begin with so maybe my face already has all the fat it wants!  WTF PEOPLE.
  • Me too on the sweets. I tell myself I'm not having any, but I always do. It's not helping that I have a ton of stuff in the house left over from the last week of school and Father's Day. Someone has to eat it, so it doesn't go to waste, right?
  • Since there is no twatwaffle Tuesday anymore, I'll post this here.

The guy that was doing my nails told me that he thought I was due next month. And that they are running out of room. And then he looked at me with a "trust me, I know" stare and smirk.

I am not due next month. I am due in 3 months. Furthermore proving how quickly I am about to hate my life.
  • @annabenanna It would give me anxiety too to see the numbers on the scale going up so fast so I'm not even looking at it. I close my eyes when they weigh me at the doctors office and I haven't gone near my scale at home. I figure, it is what it is and I'm not going crazy with what I eat so I'll worry about it once he's out.

  • Question... Is a special pregnancy pillow really worth it?  We're on a tight budget right now and I'm not convinced it's worth $50+ for a pillow.  But I'm also experiencing more and more hip and back discomfort after sleeping.  Did your pregnancy pillow really make that big a difference for you? If so what brand do you recommend?

I wish I could NOT LOOK.... i kinda look obsessively!  But I've found that the scale at the doctor's is making me look heavier than I am, because the scale at my gym and at home are the same (about 7 lbs less than at doctor's!).  I not only look.... i record my weight on the OVIA app.... i can't believe I'm not even in the third trimester and I've already gained what I gained!
  • @annabenanna I'm still struggling with the weight gain, too.  I try to tell myself it's healthy and good for the baby, that I'm not eating more than I should and I'm working out, but I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

In my opinion, it's not worth it. I got the BRU version of the snoogle so it was about half the price and I hardly use it. I find that my hips hurt worse then I have the pillow between my knees. I will try using it again as I get bigger and need more belly/back support but so far it's just been chilling on the floor beside my bed.

Agreed... 100%... Everyone said they loved theirs so I got one but I sleep so much worse when I use it that it's been put away in a closet for me to try again when I need more support
  • Jumping on the sweets bandwagon. I'm SO BAD. I'm not a big sweets person either but everything just TASTES SO GOOD.

  • @LauraPCOS TECHNICALLY it's @mrszoess fault! I looked because she mentioned them! They're so precious though ♡♡♡
  • @Blonde1817 I got the Snoogle about a month ago, which I put off buying forever because of the price, but it is seriously worth every penny! I wish I would have bought it sooner. Even after pregnancy I don't think I'll go back to a normal pillow.

I wonder when we're going to get an announcement thread going.  I know we're still 3 months away, but some of the babies in the June thread were born seriously early.

  • I did? I can't even remember what I ate for lunch but idk if posted that.

but yeah, the babies. I can't deal.
  • @Blonde1817 I hear so many mixed reviews about pregnancy pillows. I bought the giant horseshoe shaped one because people raved about it and I hate it. It sits on the floor. I hoped it would be useful once I got bigger, but I still don't use it. A lot of people have since told me that a few regular pillows work just as well. So now I sleep with one between my legs and I put a giant stuffed animal under my belly/between my boobs. That's when I'm most comfortable. Go figure. Lol

  • I'm on the sweets train too. I've been craving gummy candy and chocolate milk. Everything else sounds gross other than sandwiches.

  • I read in a multiples book that a good guideline of weight to gain is about 25 pounds by your 20th week-ish.

I am 22+3 and have officially as of today, gained 25 pounds. It freaked me out at first, but I think it's all belly. My belly is so huge! I try to think that the more pounds I pack on, the greater chance of the babies being carried to term AND at a better weight. Which is what the book said. So maybe 20 of those 25 pounds have been put on via Little Debbie? Oh whale.
I have no idea how much I've gained (I turn around at weigh-ins), but I can still wear pre-pregnancy jeans so I think most of my weight is in my belly and by big 'ol titties.

  • I had about 5 chips ahoy cookies today, a bowl of ice cream, and turtles for dinner. I have a dessert after almost every meal.

I have been in bed since 6:14 and I'm letting DD watch Home 7x so I don't have to move.

  • @Blonde1817 I hated mine for a while, but now I sleep with it every night. It helps support my back when I'm wanting to roll on my back. The body pillow idea seems like a pretty good idea though! Would probs work just as well!

  • I'm also jumping on the sweets train!! Last night I went to Carvel and got cake batter ice cream with colored sprinkles - it was sooooo good!!!

My coworker was shocked I have been eating so many sweets lately. Yes, I'm totally not ashamed to eat chocolate donuts, cookies, etc at my desk. She thought I was only supposed to crave chips, pretzels, and salty things since I'm carrying a boy. Haha, no.

  • Thanks for the pillow ideas guys!  I've been trying to sleep with just are regular pillow between my knees but I get too annoyed with it... I just like to squirm around too much lol.  I didn't use is last night and I feel fine today.  I'm wondering if maybe it's not sleep so much but it's just soreness from things I've done the previous day that sets in overnight?  Oh well, I'm going to tough it out a little longer and see how it goes.

@annabenanna  I also track my weight gain on Ovia and weigh myself most days.  I was freaking out too for awhile there because I was gaining weight so rapidly, sometimes the scale would go up every single day.  But I was so freaking hungry!  Over the past few weeks my appetite and weight have leveled out and been pretty stable.   I'm still well within the normal weight gain range, which tells me that these kinds of fluctuations are normal.  Don't assume you'll just keep going at this rate until October!   Also, I don't care about the doctors scale.  Those big scales are always weigh higher, and my appointments are at the end of the day so I know it's not as accurate as my scale.

  • @kmolletz Dang, you'd think they'd be trying to get more people to adopt! I can't wait until you take your son-to-be home to keep.

@RainMira9e seriously! I was so frustrated. I was trying to explain we already love him like our son and want to live with him as well and everything that comes from that and she was just like repeating over and over until finally DH was like "we want this baby to have a brother close in age" and finally she was like "oh okay" .... LIKE WHAT EVEN!?

@AllytheKid we got lucky and shes NOT our case worker. Apparently it was just her job to vet us first. Ugh. And with all these hormones I had to keep blotting my eyes so I wouldn't start crying. Hahah. (side note: it's TOTALLY inappropriate to cry in public in Tanzania unless someone has died)

  • @kmolleltz At least you won't have to deal with her again!
You have peaked my curiosity, why is it inappropriate?
  • @mrszoess Yay!!!!  Mamaroo is top of my list of things I want.  I don't think I'll get it at my shower so it's on my "to buy" list.  I keep checking eBay and offer up hoping for a good deal.  Congrats on scoring one for $50!!!
  • @kmolleltz I would be SHUNNED in Tanzania!  I cry at the drop of a hat when I'm NOT pregnant! Yikes!
  • @kmolleltz After Monday, Tanzania would have kicked me out because of all my crying.

@AllytheKid I'm not sure! It's just like a cultural taboo to cry. You will never see Tanzanians cry unless its related to death. Or during a super crazy church/prayer service I guess.
But when they do cry.... oh man it's like flailing on the floor screaming/sobbing. It's really intense....
(additionally I'm talking about adults. Kids obvious cry whenever.)
