@kami09 we have a dairy intolerance over here and our ped said her symptoms were very typical for dairy intolerance so maybe it'll help you a bit before you dive into cutting dairy. DD's poops were bright green/yellow and were really mucusy (looked like big strands of snot). She was a big grunter and every time she pooped no matter how big or how small you could hear it from a mile away. When she pooped with a diaper off you could literally see bubbles coming out with the poop. I've been off all dairy and soy (soy intolerance is apparently really common when there's a dairy intolerance so ped said just cut that too) for 5 days and her poops are back to normal, she's not spitting up near what she was prior, and she's much happier. It's a really difficult change to make, but if you're having similar symptoms with your LO, I'd recommend it!
Also, our ped straight violated DD and put a glove on with vasoline at our first visit cause she was backed up, stuck her pinky finger in just ever so slightly and that did the trick. @babyfmama sounds like she has the right idea with the qtip! Good luck
@ncm0328 hm...her poops were pretty typical up until about a week ago, and now she's just having trouble. I really need to try to qtip-- actually I'm going to do it right now. The only thing that made me think she might be having trouble with dairy was that 2 days/nights in a row I ate a shit ton on ice cream, macaroni...alllll kinds of dairy & she was a completely different baby those nights & still is. I did cut the dairy for the last 2 days &, although I know it'll take up to 2 weeks to see a difference in DD...I actually love that it's making me eat healthier lol.
All fucking night this kid was waking up any time I moved. He'd be totally sacked out and I would move or his paci would fall out or something and he'd be up. then at 4am I thought we finally had an understanding and he peed on me. I was gunna just wipe it off but it was a lot of pee so I showered. Which woke up the baby. Now of course it's 7:30am so the dog is barking. I'm gunna lose my mind. dh thinks he could be sick since DH has been sick. He says he hears a gruntiness in his crying. Could that be it? i think besides our 6 week check up we're just gunna lay in bed today.

I think so...I mean it didn't happen right away but she did poop a little bit later, so I'm guessing it was that that did the trick. She's been a bear today though so who the heck knows what's going on
4 hours. I have been trying to get my separation anxiety tantruming 2yr old to sleep for 4 f*cking hours concurrent with DS2's witching hour and 1st usual nightly wakeup. In the time it took me to get DS2 to feed him during the usual wakeup around 10, DS1 cried so hard that he puked. DH is snoring away right now. This is the worst bedtime freak out we've had in a long time.
There is nothing more annoying that DH snoring next to me while I'm up nursing, and listening to my toddler awake on the monitor. I finally said something and he freaked out and went downstairs to sleep. Not helpful for me, but I guess I don't have to listen to his bellowing snore sounds and farts all freaking night.
How is it that I'm waking up more than my child?! He passed out at around 10:30 or 11 and didn't wake up till I forced him awake at 4:40. I already had to wake up and hand express at 2:30, anticipating he'd get up at 3, BUT NOPE. I made him get up at 4:40 because I was hurting soooo bad. At least 2 people got decent sleep in this house. DH and baby. Thanks Mother Nature for forcing me to feed my baby....?
Finally got him to sleep around 1. Then DS2 clusterfed from 4 until morning. This morning I'm leaning towards sticking to two kids, lol. Though, when DS1 first got up at 7 and I was nursing, he just grabbed a few books and entertained himself which was good and pretty cute. Thanks @thismakes4@That1didntcount@Jenly17 eta @Bltbear82 sorry! I didn't see your comment earlier.
@Jenly17 I hope you got back to sleep after your household's wakeups!
This whole thread reminds me of when someone asked how often Ezra ate at night and I remember thinking "I'm not sure what time you're starting night time."
Pollie is usually a pretty good sleeper, four to five hours at night consistently and a six hour stretch every now and then, so at 8:30 I was exhausted and DH said he would be in charge of Pollie so I could go to bed early. I was so excited for a good six or seven hour sleep! I woke up when he got into bed at 9:30 and he said Pollie just fell asleep too. Well here we are, three hours later and she's up which means instead of my nice long sleep I still only got four hours
Ezra slept for awhile and started to wake up, so I fed him and he fell back asleep. Then I changed him and he stayed asleep. I got him back into his rocker and thought I was basically super mom. then he spit up and pooped in his sleep. Someone else is gunna have to deal with that.
Cluster feeding can suck it. We've been going since 1am. Screw all this growth spurts and wonder weeks crap. She's been fussy for a week now and went through three full days of guzzling milk at the end of last week. So what is it now?
@missnc77 I hate to say it, but sometimes the leaps in wonder weeks take days or a few weeks, every baby is a little different about when they start and end. Fair warning, there's one around 14-19 weeks that seems like it lasts an eternity.
@bltbear82 that is the 4 month one correct? I think looking back at my first baby, that whole sleep regression 4 month wonder week period was the most difficult time...

Yep. That leap was when I went back to work with DS1, his sleep went to complete hell, and he developed an early separation anxiety. His fussy period lasted weeks with that one. (But he came out the other side with lots of cool new skills!)

Yes! I remember sitting in bed looking at the chart and being terrified that we still had something like 15 more days left in that leap.
Yeah, that's what I thought @kbrands7. Sleep regression, wonder week, first cold, moved her out of the rock and play - in retrospect, a terrible decision. Dreading it - but this first wonder week isn't a cup of tea with this new one.
@That1didntcount oh, first cold! I forgot about that. It happened to DS1 too-- he caught a stomach virus a week or so into the school year starting. Don't be hard on yourself about moving out of the rocknplay-- around that time it's common for babies to roll or outgrow weight limits/height restrictions of some of the smaller things. I don't know the specifics of the rnp, but it may have been unavoidable. DS1 outgrew the PNP bassinet during that time, which sucked. It's just a marathon of a leap. Definitely the hardest one for DS1.
Holy crap my LO has been sleeping since 9!! 7.5 hours and counting. I, of course, just woke up leaking and full and now I'm waiting for her to wake up so I can get some relief. I can't believe she's slept so long!
Seriously. Let's literally sleep until I get hooked up to the pump. Then start screaming. Of course this is all after you wouldn't let me sleep for the past 2 hours without you being on my chest.
This first feeding of the night, I don't even think she's hungry most of the time. Just wants some extra soothing. She usually eats for 10 mins then back to sleep.
Just went down after cluster feeding for hours. This is the first time I have actually had a shot at sleeping tonight. I kind of want to take a shower or make some popcorn or eat random things. I won't waste this sleep opportunity though. Toddler might be up in 3 hours. Hope baby actually has a decent stretch. But at this point I will take even 1 hour.

That is awesome! Was this on your chest or in crib or other baby sleeping device? Regardless your baby needs to come talk to my baby ASAP. Mine needs some peer pressure of that type.

In the RNP! Last night she slept for 8.5 hours from 9:30/6! I don't know how or why this is happening but I'm just praying she keeps it up! My breasts have been super full these past two mornings, yesterday I pumped after I fed her and I'll probably do the same today. She'll be 8 weeks tomorrow so I guess it's an age thing?
@LadySamLady I'd say she's getting to that age where she sleeps through the night! I don't have it bad as I wake up once or twice a night, but I can't wait to get to that glorious stage of not waking up! Unless to pump....
Sheer exhaustion lol. This guy is up every 3 hours in the dot , sometimes 2 and a half during the night to eat. During the day, he can go up to almost 4. Why?! Lol. Mommy is flipping tired!
@Nicbert1214 I was up at 130, 330, 430, 530! Shoot me now!! And she was only eating 30ml at a time WHY CHILD!?!? She was an angel yesterday. She's going to be a tyrant today, I can tell!
@ayeshaohara he was up at 10:30, 1:30, 4:30 and 6! What in the hell? Lol! And he's pounding down 4oz at a time! I think I might have to up his formula. He's currently going through 1 32oz bottle, sometimes more in a 24 hour period. I can't wait till
@Nicbert1214 well I was right...tyrant. Still barely eating and only had a nap around 3pm. Went out for lunch and she usually sleeps through that but nope, wide awake!! Something is wrong with her but we can't work out what...she's massively distressed after eating. It's exhausting for both of us!
@ayeshaohara oh no! Sorry you guys are having such a rough day! Do you think her belly is bothering her? Maybe it's a growth spurt? Ryan will usually be fussy after eating only if he has to poop or if he is in the midst of a growth spurt. And oh yea, if it's like 4:30am LOL.
@Nicbert1214 no idea just hoping it passes. My MIL babysat last night and she was great apparently. Finally fed and did 2 big poops...that may have been her issue. Who knows. Today she's more settled again
DS is 7 weeks and usually a decent sleeper. The past two days he's been terrible at falling and staying asleep. For naps I use to be able to put him down and make noise around the house. Now he pops back awake if I put him down. If I wait he's in deep sleep he's only out 10-20 mins. Any little noise will wake him. I think this has made him over tired because he's so fussy in the evenings and can't fall asleep. He isn't sleeping long stretches either! Nothing else has changed and I thought we were done with the5/6 wonder week changes. Any tips or ideas of what's causing this?

Ezra's 7 weeks too and he's been doing the same thing! In a way it's a blessing because I know he's tired so I can focus on helping him sleep but he used to sleep for hours during the day and now it's maybe 45 minutes. My best guess is he's starting to figure out his days and nights? Cuz the nighttime sleeping is becoming about 5 hours at a time. Hallelujah?
Speaking of long night sessions, I figure only you ladies will get the joy/frustration of the past three hours... ezra went down at 10pm and at 2:30am I woke up engorged. I decided to pump champ boob and power pump slacker, especially since I'd had engorgement for awhile in the evening (I was helping my mom most of the day with some heavy duty moving and Ezra took two bottles). I got five out of champ boob at my first pumping and while I was letting slacker (one ounce!!) rest I got another three ounces out of champ! then Ezra woke up, which was fine. DH changed him and I fed him and then realized his pjs were wet (usual for his mid-night wake up). I changed his pjs and while letting him finish his feed he leaked all over me and his new clothes!! I had to changed him and clean us up. thankfully he's back to sleep but man, what a crazy hour this has been!
