I would talk to whomever is in charge of disability cases with your work to determine exactly what you need to start early. I was able to get off with just a note saying to excuse me from work to do extreme discomfort due to late term pregnancy but my company has a very lenient policy once you hit 38 weeks. If you have to be put on bed rest to get off, some doctors may be uncomfortable writing it if you don't have a reason to be put on bed rest. Good luck
My H just walked in to find me gnawing on our daughter's fingernails while nursing and immediately started laughing. I swear infant fingernails are the sharpest things I've ever touched, they could probably cut glass. My boobs are covered in claw marks and that shit hurts.

I used an adult nail file on my guy while he's sleeping, otherwise his habit of grabbing onto my boobs while nursing is horrible!!
My original plan was to work all the way to my due day, but I'm seriously tempted to put in the towel starting next week. I would need a doctor's note to get out of work before the baby is born. My question is, has anyone else done this? I'm nervous if I ask my doctor for a note she is going to tell me since I'm not on bed rest she can't do it.
How far along are you? My doctor had no issue saying I could leave work at 38 weeks. I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal to ask. They know how tired, swollen, and generally uncomfortable pregnant women get late in pregnancy. It cost nothing if the doc to agree to an earlier leave.

@VS2016 I agree with @Charla1224. I don't think it would hurt to ask your Dr at least!
Alex is still in Neonatal for today and tonight. He is fine it seems, it's just precaution. I have the world's worst nipples. Baby won't latch so I have to use a shield. If I struggle too much, I will pump and feed him from my supply. Alex is also mega chill, like what a sweet guy! He doesn't do much of crying or anything.
Best thing about today is I can walk up and go see him anytime I want!!

I've been looking forward to your update. Hopefully tomorrow at this time you are telling us that Alex is in your arms.

I can at least hold him at times. But yeah, hoping to have him with me at all times comes tomorrow.
For anyone that's had their membranes stripped, how much did you bleed afterwards? I feel like I've got a light to moderate period going on here. Just want to make sure that's normal.
I decided I wanted some canned peaches for a snack... Then I dumped peach juice all over myself... This has to be an omen that my water is going to break tonight right?? Haha!!
I'm not even through the first page yet and... LOL! The OP is a dummy.. I feel like maybe it started as a fake thread. It has to be fake, right?! I need some popcorn...

Alex is still in NICU - he is a bit jaundiced. Hopefully out tomorrow morning if that goes away though. BUT jaundice never looked this cool (haha for the lights).
Anna got to rock the sunglasses too. I will admit it made having to put her under the lights a little easier. She also really enjoyed being there under the warmer and wasn't fussy at all.
First off, those babies getting light treatment and wearing sunglasses are the cutest things I've ever seen.
But other random thing: I used to look at celebrity gossip sites all the time, and now almost never do, but getting bored at work just looked around for a few minutes. There are SO MANY posts about post-baby bodies with celebrities taking selfies like two weeks after birth and showing how flat their stomachs are. I know this stuff makes a lot of women feel bad, but at this point, I’m just like “WTF is wrong with them?” How is any of their mental energy at all being spent on having a flat belly right this second??
How's this for random? Today I had to take LO with me to the bathroom. She used this opportunity to take a poop herself. Bonus our cat came in and used her litter box (it's kept under our bathroom sink). This girls trip to the ladies room made me cry because it just felt like family.
^ I find it impossible to sleep when LO sleeps. I want to watch him sleep, get things done around the house (holy crap to endless laundry), eat, catch up on texts/emails, Bump... etc. there are not enough hours in the day.
Guys, you know how I've posted in the past about my MIL, who passed away in December? Well, not only was my daughter born on her wedding anniversary to FIL, but after looking at a slideshow of some professional newborn photos, I realized that she also looks almost exactly like her, too! This is amazing.
I started leave this week. The first couple of days were okay because I still had/have some stuff to take care of before baby gets here. But today is day 4 at home... and I'm bored. Now its mainly the waiting game and I still have a little over a week until my actual due date. Guess I should enjoy the rest and relaxation while I can though.
