We love the name Mia for our baby girl but we are totally stuck when it comes to middle names. So far we are tossing around Grace and Katherine. Anyone have any suggestions, I'm open to anything! Rose, Paige and Elizabeth are all taken by my nieces.
@mrsbradymama I think I like Mia Grace the best, but Mia Katherine is nice, too. For some reason, other ideas that first popped in my head are Mia Jane, Mia Josephine, Mia Kate, Mia Claire...

How are you pronouncing it? Me-a or My-a? My daughter is Mya Faith
@EricaKatrina will you be calling them by their first or middle names? Are your girls identical or fraternal? I only ask because if they're identical and have similar first names, they will get confused for each other even more. Of course they're your kids and you can do what you like. My sister and I (not twins, 14 months apart) have similar names and people confused us all the time. Just something to think about
I think we are going with Emerson Scott. H is fully committed. I don't mind Emerson turning to a unisex name but I'm nervous my son will. His initialson will be ESH and so maybe a NN of Esh, not for the world to use but just a family only kind of nn.
I think that maybe we might have possibly just sort of decided on perhaps the name Claire? I really love it and I don't think it will sound bad with our last name like I worried before. So Claire! Middle name coming soon!
We are decided on the name Grace which we both love and are excited about !! Haven't decided middle name, we wanted it to be a family name but are kind of at a stalemate on whose side of the family it would come from. Ahhh I want to start monogramming!
@MrsVoorhees I think we're going with Claire too! DH said he wants to call her his little Claire-bear and that won me over
Oh my gosh, same!! I had text my H a couple of times yesterday about how much I've started to love that name and he didn't respond, and then that evening we were texting from separate rooms while I was rocking DD and he called her Claire Bear. My cold, black heart melted! What are you thinking for a middle? It's not the easiest to pair with.
We are having the hardest time coming up with something, it is difficult! Dh keeps vetoing my suggestions bc he says they sound too much like first names. We like Elizabeth, which is okay but first DD's middle name is Imogen so I kind of want something less "boring"? Thinking maybe Claire Abigail or Claire Harper, although the flow w/our last name is kind of a pain.
DH and I finally settled on a name. Her name will be Ava Madelyn. We decided not to go the unisex route this time but I already feel closer to her now that I finally can call her by name!
I love the nickname Claire-Bear from watching Heroes in high school/college (the dad called his daughter that quite often). It's a fantastic nickname!
Funny you mentioned that! My H loves the name Hayden, but although I like it, I'm not in love with it. So when we decided on Claire, he joked that it's kind of like he's getting Hayden since she played her.
@MrsVoorhees ... I like the way Mr. Voorhees thinks, silver linings kinda guy. I was Heroes-obsessed for the first couple of seasons. Actually, I think my religious view on Facebook might still be "Save the cheerleader, save the world"... that's not embarrassing or anything...
@MrsVoorhees- I'm pretty sure I heard "Emmett" while watching "Switched at Birth"... which is a teeny-bopper show on ABCFamily/Freeform, that I really shouldn't admit to enjoying for a few seasons. We didn't name our son after that character.. but I think that's when the name got in my head. I actually love hearing names in movies/TV shows because you get to hear people say it

We decided on my oldest daughter's name after I watched an episode of True Blood where Bill glamors this old lady and asks her what her name is. She said her name and I thought, what a beautiful, classic name. I can't believe an older lady has a name that pretty." It was a few years before we had her but I fell in love with the name and then still loved it when I got pregnant.
We decided on Greyson James but I have so much anxiety about committing to a name! I don't want to have name regret later or him to not like his name once he grows up.
I painted cardboard letters that will go on the nursery wall for baby's initials. I also used smaller letters to decorate the C with his whole first name (Cooper). I rearranged the way the fit around the C a few times.. arching over the top, dipping down the bottom, along the side of the curve... until I got to the point where Cooper no longer sounded like a word to me and I was like "Wait.. am I spelling this right? Is this the name we chose?" hahaha, all words trips me up that way if I overanalyze them. I finished the project and gave it a day before I looked at it again, and I still love Cooper, but man did it sound like the most ridiculous word after seeing it too many times...
After many months of avoiding the topic altogether, DH and I, very unceremoniously (and over text) decided that our twins will be Brooke and Ben (Brooklyn and Benjamin). We didn't mean to do the same first letter, but it's growing on me. It seems very "twinny."
@AnnaS930 are we the same person? I am the same way with words and I'm a really, really bad overthinker. Claire. Claire. Claire. One syllable? Do I want to do that? Is it even a name or just a sound? It's a pretty sound..hahaha im very annoying.
@MrsVoorhees - Yes, yes we are. I told my husband I was overthinking something last night, then followed up with "I know that's hard to believe.. that I would EVER overthink something" and we both just about rolled over in laughter. My wheels just never stop turning.
I had a dream early last year (2015). Hobbes from the Calvin and Hobbes comic advised me to name my future son Calvin. It stuck so hard and I loved the name so much that I told DH that the name was in the running for sure.
Later that year my little brother John passed away unexpectedly from a sudden and aggressive illness. I knew that if I had a son his name would include John, though I wasn't sure in what capacity (as first or middle). After much deliberation DH and I decided that we wanted both names to be prominent. So, our son's first name is John-Calvin (one name.)
We decided and ended up back at the first name I had in mind. Our baby girl will be Eliza Mae.
Aw Eliza is so cute. If I ever have another daughter id consider that name.
Looks like ours is going to be Hazel Rae. I wanted to wait to meet her to commit to anything, but we began calling her Hazel to "try out" the name and now we can't imagine her being called anything else.
I'm 98% sure she's going to be named Helen, after my grandmother. As for her middle name, it's still up in the air. I like both Helen Grace & Helen Cecelia.
