  • I have a question for anyone that has done FET... I was told to take my BCP for another 4 days, which puts me at 10 days being on them (was waiting for PGS results). They said after stopping to call on CD 1... Will I even get a period after only 10 days on BCP? I'm so confused and fear that like 2 weeks will go by without me getting a CD1.

Any words of wisdom from those who've been there before?
  • Wahoo! Super excited to see so many new BFPs today!

Thank you ladies. Now praying it doubles by wed. I was put on estradiol and hoping that doesn't mean anything is wrong.

  • @caseyw8784 glad to hear baby shower was good. Two of my sisters have done the same thing with me, they didn't want me to feel bad that they were trying so they didn't say anything till they were already

@rmarble23 hope you're not delayed came early and still waiting on insurance authorization

    @UnicornsPlease , @milanjayla, and @mrsmoten313  congrats on + beta

@ConstanceGodspeed hope whatever changes your RE make help your lining plump up!

    @babylonghorn16 welcome back!

@BornReady I was only on BCP for 12 days and I had bleeding when I stopped.

@mrsmoten313 I don't remember if you were a fresh or frozen cycle, but for my frozen if I get a BFP they'll have me stay on Estrace till 10 weeks.

AFM I had my lining check. RE said my ovaries were quiet, I had a solid triple laminar, and lining measured 13.4!

  • @cat4151 it was a fresh. Why would they have you do that. So basically I will be doing that and lil. Idk if they do it as a precaution because it looks like my numbers are good though. They do have a high success rate for live births maybe that's part of the reason why.
    BabyFetus Ticker
  • @mrsmoten313 with my fresh I was on progesterone suppositories. I think from what I remember is that sence they took over our cycle and we didn't ovulate our bodies aren't producing the hormones that they normally would to support the pregnancy and they have to supplement them until the placenta is fully developed and it takes over producing those hormones. I would trust your RE, like you said they have high success rates, so they must have a good protocol.

@bornready I did a fresh et not frozen but also was On bcp for maybe 12 days.  Af came two days after stopping bcp.  I was surprised because I wasn't expecting it, and then I thought to myself oh I should have known usually when I stop them I would get Af a few days later.
  • Yay for the BFPs @mrsmoten313@UnicornsPlease, & @milanjayla!!!

@mrsmoten313 I have been on endometrin suppositories 3 times a day and estradiol 2mg twice day since my egg retrieval.  Nurse gave me the word that I would take them until 10 weeks in.

@adunkin I think I saw on here that you wanted to maybe foster kids on the road to adoption?  I am a kid therapist and saw a kid for an intake the other day at my clinic that was recently with a new foster family.  He had also been a client of our clinic about a year and half ago before foster care and I was reading the notes from back then.  The difference between him now that he is with his foster family (he talked about his hero - Leonardo
DaVinci, built an amazing bridge structure with blocks, and sat quietly playing unless he wanted to add something to the convo) and him before he was placed (he was getting suspended all the time, could not concentrate and would not sit down, and would fight with everyone) was just amazing.  Good luck and best wishes to you.

I am so happy for all of our BFP betas today!!!!
  • Congrats to all of the BFP's today!

I had my day 4 u/s today. The nurse did it so she didn't tell me how many follis or sizing but my Re left me a vm saying my estrogen doubles but it was 81. He didn't comment more on it in the vm and just said continue at the same dosage and go in Wed. Any ladies closer to or post e/r have a lower estrogen and still get some good eggs?

  • @babylonghorn16 I know some will say not to ice.  I iced and just had DH massage the area after to distribute the oil.  I had no issue with tissue damage.  I did have a reaction to the first kind of oil I had, but switched to sesame and no issues after that.

@babylonghorn16 good to see you back! Join the PIO club lol!  I've been doing them about 5 days now so certainly not a vet but I do not ice, warm up the vial by rubbing back and forth between my hands, then after DJ injects, he massages the area and that's it.  So far no lumps or pain just slight dizziness! The lidocaine would probably be good as pp mentioned since I feel the prick of the needle for sure.
@Kellyfish79 good luck with your egg retrieval tomorrow!  Fx it goes well!

  • @babylonghorn16 with my FET I tried icing, didn't like it much, then I did warm up vial by sticking in my bra while I prepared other shots, then I'd heat and massage it. This time I don't do anything but get it ready and I actually do them myself (took a lot of courage but I was stuck one time w no one to do it, so I had too and realized it wasn't as bad as I thought to do myself). Sometimes the anxiety of when DH was going to stick it in is worse then me just doing it, plus it keeps me occupied too, so I don't concentrate on the feeling. As others mentioned, the "ladies" get in the way when trying to do my left side, but once I get that needle in I'm good and maybe bc I have been poked so many times, my body just toughened up and got used to it. GL you will do fine after the 1st few.

Good luck to all with transfers today and betas coming up!!

babylonghorn16 So far the Pio shots aren't bad. If you can pull the skin over to the side and give z track over 2-4 min. It will minimize the possible side effects. I'm a nurse that's gives these injections for a living.

Congrats on all of the BFP & PUPOs.

Im just checking in briefly. ER was Sunday. They got 36(?!) eggs. No wonder I'm so overstimulated. 25 fertilized and they will call tomorrow with a day 3 update.

Moderate OHSS is making me miserable. Starving, but feeling too full and nauseous to eat. Trying to get down as much Gatorade as possible, but even that is a challenge.

DH just went to the pharmacy to pick up an new anti nausea RX. I'm prone to motion sickness so I think that's partially why it's hitting me so hard.

So so far no need for the hospital which is good. I'm just hoping I'll be feeling a bit better over the next few days.

So so thankful now we decided to switch to FET because my body will definitely not be ready for a fresh transfer on Friday!

Sunday was scary because they wanted to scan me before starting an IV bc it was possible I'd already ovulated after the failed lupron trigger. I would have been so devastated to go through all of this for no chance at eggs. So thankful I hadn't ovulated.

Also because I was already retaining fluid and my ovaries were so large, the doctor had to go through my cervix to access my ovaries.

So that's my complicated mess. Thanks so much to everyone on this board. My clinic isn't one to give away all of the possible complications upfront. It's on more of a need to know basis. I'd definitely know what could happen and this board has been so great for that.

@Knottie17863111 So sorry you had OHSS. I had it as well. In addition to Gatorade, try to eat protein. I found chicken noodle soup helpful. Watch your weight too. If it goes up more than 5 pounds in a day or if you have trouble breathing, call your doc. Don't go to the ER or urgent care b/c they won't know how to treat you (unless your doc says otherwise). I really hope you feel better soon. I know exactly how miserable you are feeling.

  • mtpbadger My FET is tomorrow afternoon (230pm), and I am planning to spend my morning shopping for fun socks to wear for the transfer.

I am always a bit paranoid about my feet being in someone's face when I am in the stirrups.  I do either first thing in the morning appointments or put on a fresh pair of socks while I am in the exam room.  I have a variety of fun themed socks I wear regularly, but I figure I need a special pair for this =)

Also--I asked my IVF coordinator but have not yet heard back--how much water were you told to drink before your transfer?  And did they want you to do it all at once?  I am hoping to just drink a bunch for a couple hours and not pee before the appointment.  I have a really hard time drinking enough fluids in general, so I know I'll have a hard time trying to down a couple liters at one time (if that is what I am supposed to do)
