Ahh, haven't had time to catch up on this thread (been so busy lately!).
Anyhow, I'm sitting here during the glucose test at the laboratory. Thanks to all who suggested bringing my laptop. AND the drink wasn't terrible at all! It just tasted like orange Hi-C x100.
Funny random story: It was our three year wedding anniversary earlier this week and the traditional gift is something leather. DH gave me pair of Birkenstocks (which really worked out because I had been wanting a new pair). Except...the one he gave me...is a pair that I already own and have been wearing around him all spring. They're literally sitting next to his shoes at our home entrance. Men. At least he knows what I like??
I've been reading for the past few days to stay caught up but not commenting a ton due to travel, etc. I just wanted to pop in and say congrats to @jhems776!! So exciting, what great summer news for you!
Also, @mamadomino happy birthday woo!! Hope you have a wonderful day!
My random: we're on vacation, and it's raining allllll day. Booooo. Looks like museums and coffee shops all day for this gal! (With lots of decaf lol)
I'm just putting this out into the universe randomly.
If any of you get invited to an usborne book party, get "All Better!" It comes with 5 reusable bandages and has an injured animal on every page whose wound you heal when you "clean it, kiss it, put a bandage on it!" My almost 2 year old cannot get enough. I doubted the resuabulity of the bandages, but they rinse off and are 100% like new.
ps The "Thats not my _____" series is super durable. I bought all of ours used for a dollar each and they're still like new. Good "touch and feel" style books.
*I do not sell usborne books, but I bought a book out of obligation at a party and I do not regret it!

"Clean it, kiss it, put a bandage on it!" Reminds me of Dr Harley! Have you seen his little videos?
My pup is doing so much better!!!! I am so relieved. Thanks again for your support and input, everyone. We think she ate something naughty and her little system was having a hard time dealing with it
In other news, tomorrow is our sex reveal party! It'll be fun to let the cat out of the bag.
The party went amazing. My mom and aunt made so many amazing decorations. We did a smoke stack/bomb reveal. I thought baby was a boy but was still shocked to see the blue smoke.
@KimmySchmidt We bought our daughter a trains sound book from Usborne that she's loved. If I get a chance to buy the "All Better" book at some point, I will be all over it. I have trouble resisting any book.
@megan324 I knicked myself shaving down. There last time and it bled like a mofo and reopened often while wiping... which is just what you want, blood on the to. Hope you heal up, switch to a trimmer!
My son is superman. He and I drove to my grandparents today for lunch. 3 hours away. We visited for 3 hours and played in the insane heat (mid 80s in may in northern vermont... insane), and he napped the whole 3 hours home. So proud of him and it really made my grandparents' day
I also cut myself doing the "Stevie Wonder" (shaving without being able to see anything) the other morning in the shower. I got out and dried myself off and noticed that I was bleeding profusely down there and I totally freaked out it was coming from inside of me. Nope, just a bad cut... I felt like I was in junior high again learning how to shave.
@fireflygirl12 what about the pain?! I'm a wuss and am kind of scared when the hair gets ripped off the thick part up top. I don't think Tylenol will help much. I like the idea of being clean postpartum though.
@frogdog06 Just to add another POV... I had planned on trimming before I gave birth (in complete honesty I was going to have DH do it for me because I couldn't see anything) and it didn't get done. I did not notice hair being an issue. Honestly, my pubes were probably the last thing I would have noticed during my recovery because between the squirt bottle and patting dry with TP, it thankfully left me in as little contact with my vag as possible. Granted, I'm a woman that doesn't usually go completely hairless, so that may have helped my not noticing, but the hair was much longer than I prefer.
Going to AW. I picked up a free outdoor playhouse from a Facebook freecycle group and I cleaned it up and painted it. You can see the house as advertised and then after we cleaned it up and painted it. #proud
My crazy next door neighbors were outside partying until 430am. 430!!! And I mean loud music, swimming, tv on etc. have a little respect ya A holes! I get it's a holiday weekend but this is every weekend thing since they got their pool. I'm about to pour paint in it
Rant over. Hope everyone is having an amazing Memorial Day weekend!
Ugh they are the worst. I was feeling a little bitter and tired this morning so I pointed to their fence and told my dog there was a squirrel in the backyard. She ran over and started barking haha. Our houses are very close together and like I said before my master bedroom is towards the backyard so I literally felt like I was at the party while in my bed.
@AmMcc12 I don't trust anyone knocking on the door past 8pm. that happened to me last year so I made sure both dogs were in the house (in case one might have gotten out) and then locked myself in my room until they left haha do you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood? Maybe doorbell Dixie?
@AmMcc12 that's bizarre, though I did knock on a stranger's door in my neighborhood after dark one time. It was because the light was on in the car parked in their driveway. They were understandably a little freaked out, but once I went away they were probably glad to not have a dead battery the next morning
The dogs barked like crazy and when I finally got out of bed to look (I was sounds asleep) I didn't see anything out there. @seitzy3 is doorbell Dixie like dingdong ditch?

@mamadomino have a fabulous birthday weekend!
@Megan324 ...yowch. I give up trying to tame it...but haven't had to step out in swimwear or anything...
@jhems776 Congrats on your little guy!

Such good news @mom2adoodle!!
@megan324 Brazilians all the way. So worth it for post partum when there's so much going on down there, keeps things much cleaner.
@AnnaS930 I have a trimmer and totally don't trust myself with it anymore haha
@mamadomino hope you had a great birthday!
@mom2adoodle yay for a healthy pup!!
