shelbiboston Where did you find the ruffle curtains? I had the PBK blackout ones for DD and they were awful. I was never able to get them completely non-wrinkly...I'm actually trying to sell them to some other poor soul now lol, but I want to get new different ones for DD's big girl room.
Does anyone have a good way to fill in bumps and bruises on baby furniture? The front of our crib tipped over while it was being stored in the basement, and there's a pretty large part where there are a bunch of chips in the paint from the fall. It's like a cream/ivory color, and I'm so bummed because it's such a gorgeous crib, and of course it's right on the front in the middle. We tried a paint pen and one of those filler crayon things, but neither worked well enough to even make it look at least somewhat better. Thoughts??
@SkiChic626 If u take a small piece of the furniture into Sherman Williams they can match the color (since there are a million whites). We had to do this for ceiling paint touch ups.
@tinkerbell11210 I thought about doing that with Benjamin Moore, because they'll do the same, but I'm not sure if the finish will match (i.e. satin/glossy/matte). Also, the smallest piece of furniture is the toddler rail, which is still pretty large lol

@entropicallyfavored I love your nursery! We are planning to do a mini-crib in our bedroom, too, and your woodland prints totally caught my eye! So cute!
@SkiChic626 If the gouge is deep, you can get woodfill or 2-part epoxy at home depot to fill in, sand and refinish, and yes, as PP have said, just bring the chair rail in and let them match it. You may also need to prep the area carefully first by getting some of that waxy furniture stick OUT before applying the patch, (following the package directions), so the material holds better. GL!
Our nursery for baby boy is still very much a guest room filled with crap, but we've purchased everything we need and just need to move out the guest room furniture and situate all the baby stuff. I created this "mood board" to keep me organized, and we have pretty much everything here purchased already. Hopefully we'll get it all moved in during the next few weeks!
@PeachGal23 I have the same peg board pinned! I went to Home Depot yesterday to get the pegboard, but their saw wasn't working so I have to wait a few days. Also, I love that paddle! We're doing a nautical theme for the boys room (DS1 and LO will be sharing) and I'm trying to find a rustic looking paddle to hang on the wall.
Thanks, @JEMN! I sure will. @Bookhousegirl, the paddle is from the Pillowfort collection at Target! And the pegboard is a project for the hubby found some cute baskets and accents for it at Hobby Lobby.
@Sekerambo Yea! That's what I bought to use, but I'm struggling with how to attach to the ceiling without using hooks. I'm not sure I want to use thumbtacks because I'm overly paranoid and don't want to worry about one falling down into their crib or something.
I'm finally getting somewhere with our nursery. My most recent accomplishment is updating a side table we bought at goodwill for his room. I found the most adorable knob for the drawer that looks like a little tree stump! Perfect for his woodland/woodsy room!
@Hannah0726 I got really lucky and found it on a local classified site. It's a storkcraft--a few years old, but it says "Beatrice" design on the back and I think you can get the changing table and the hutch part separately.
Finally have all the big pieces in! Now time for the fun parts of wall hangings, crafts, curtains, etc. will eventually be a gender neutral safari theme
Finally, this room is about finished. Just need to find some curtains and install ceiling fan. Here is baby Marley's room which is right across the hall from her big sis Annabelle. Im a bargain hunter so got the crib for free at a garage sale and refinished it. The changing table/dresser I found on Craigslist for $40 and painted it. The glider was a hand me down. My favorite piece is the ikea cart. It will be able to move from nursery to living room and has all baby essentials. Whoever pinned that on Pinterest is brilliant
1. How important do you feel having a rocking chair / glider in the room is? Will it really help a lot to have one?
2. What about adding a small rug to the floor? I just wonder how much a hassle it is to clean up all the dust from it (now we have hardwood)
Right now we are so limited with space so I am really wondering about the rocker.
we didn't have a rocking chair or glider for our first. I always wished I had one and I thought it would make things a little easier but honestly we did without it. This time I bought a recliner for our living room that rocks and then after that we received a used one from an aunt for the room. It definitely takes up space but looking forward to having it available for feelings and rocking.
Finally I can participate on this thread! It's not complete yet - final touches needed like putting up wall decals on the crib side of the wall (black & gold triangles) but this is pretty much the gist of it:
We live in a 1,000 sq ft apt so we decided to wait on getting a rocker/glider until we move into a bigger place. We just moved our teal chair and Westie cushion (big brother represent!) that were in our living room to the nursery; bought that gold ottoman from Wayfair and called it a day.
That black closet looking thing is a murphy bed we already had in that room. DH wanted to keep it when I just wanted to sell it thinking it would take up too much space. I did compromise by getting smaller book shelves to put on the other side by the closet and hanging up safari art instead so the bed can still come down without hitting anything.
Not pictured: Diaper pail by door & Ikea 8-cube shelf organizer that's in the closet.

1. YES, 100%. However, we kept ours in our bedroom since I was nursing. It was way more comfortable and convenient for me to be in there and able to turn on the tv or just hop out of bed if I wanted and into the chair. In fact, when DD was 2.5 months old we bought another one for our living room - different type, but still a rocker. They are the most used pieces of furniture in our entire house, even still and she's 2. Now, I'm thinking about getting a 3rd so that we can actually put one in the nursery. We got this baby a smaller dresser/changing table, so now a chair may actually fit in the room. We'll see....
2. We have hardwood, too, and I liked having a small rug - more than anything for sound purposes and so that she had somewhere soft to play once she got a little older. We actually just got one for this baby that's even bigger than the one we had for DD.
@terezakatarina personally don't like the ones with wooden frames, I think they're uncomfortable. I much prefer a chair that's cushy and soft all over. They're not as nice-looking, but when you're in that chair for the long haul (i.e. nursing, passing out, etc.) you definitely want something that uber soft and cozy.
I need some sort of bookshelf still and I am trying to finish the garland I made for above the crib! But other than that I'm done we have shelves in the closet that were being painted when I took the picture so the diapers aren't all over the floor anymore
@liljabee Wow! So pretty! What's the little critter under the tree?
It is my version of a Godzilla, though it looks like a baby dragon because I don't actually watch a lot of Godzilla films.
My friend who organized my shower, when she heard we were "team green," started calling the baby "Gojira" and the shower had an unofficial baby Godzilla theme. So I thought it would be fun to have a Baby Godzilla reading s book under the tree
I finally uploaded pics from my phone to my laptop, so that I could post them on here. We repurposed a desk hutch by hanging it on the wall above the dresser, adding a few baskets and a spring curtain rod for clothes. The artwork was done by my nephew's best friend, and I love it! I made the valances and my big kids helped make the mobile that hangs in the middle of the room. The Pack 'n Play will be set up in here for now, since we've decided to put the crib in our room for the first few months. We also have our extra Twin bed in here, in case one of us needs to sleep in there after we transition the crib in there. Sorry the pics are so big. I'm not sure how to resize them.

Any recommendations on the actual type of rocking/ glider chair? I'm scouring Wayfair.

Still looking for a rocker / glider though
