I debated on on painting the walls, but just couldn't decide on a color. I still need a light fixture for the ceiling, curtains, and a growth chart project for the wall when you walk in. The crib was made by my dad 12 years ago for my nephew and has been patiently waiting for the next grand baby.

@midwestbaby I am extremely impressed! I love the theme, it is adorable! Our nursery still has the twin bed in it that we will move to DDs room. I need to get a move on!

@lynnlove28 Thanks! This room was pretty much empty since we moved in last year, so that made it easy to go nuts and start buying stuff. I can't wait to see what you and everyone else has for ideas. I have been doing some major crushing on some of the nurseries over on June and July.

This baby will eventually share a room with DS1, so I'm putting most of my effort into decorating the new "big boy room" and will mostly just reuse the nursery as-is until baby is sleeping enough to move him in with his big brother. 

For the big boy room we're doing a travel theme. I got these sheets (plus the matching crib sheets for baby):

@midwestbaby  I have the same stuffed animal bear toy you have from a friend---I love it!

Where did you get your crib?  And I think I may have asked this before but where did you get the cute wooden animal figures?

@ramoseecology My dad made the crib.  

I ordered the wooden animals from the website called the wooden wagon. If you sign up for their emails they will send you a coupon for your first purchase.

 I am sure if we have another kid I won't be this ready the second go around. I work odd hours, so I have a lot of free time on my hands when the normal 9-5 crowd is working. DH also has been really excited to use his tools  to put all the crap together I buy.

@bananers the minky fabric is the best! How are you attaching it to the dresser? I was thinking about Velcro for ours, but I don't want to damage the top of the dresser when we remove it.

I've never attached a photo before so hopefully it works. I've attached my "look board." Right now the room only has the dresser which we finally put together today! The crib should be here Friday and the chair will take another 4-6 weeks. My mom bought the quilt and sheets already, we just need to purchase the mattress! The background color on the picture is pretty close to our wall color. I'm trying to stay relatively neutral so everything can be used again if next baby is a boy. I'm excited to see it actually look like a nursery in the next few months!

We used Velcro. And it probably did ruin the top but it's just an old IKEA dresser that we painted before DS1 was born.

We have to transition DS into a twin before we can really start the nursery. That will happen in the next week or so.

SIL will paint several large canvases to hang on the wall above the dresser and crib. DH will build floating shelves as well as a bookcase just like he did for DS.

Ok but seriously, kudos on putting your LO's nursery together with the most perfect decor items to fit the cutest theme ever. I'm all for not necessarily having to throw up in blues or pinks. Original and super creative. 

Now I'm going to pretend I didn't see your pics and try to go to sleep in peace!

@midwestbaby the bureau I bought has snaps installed on the backside of the dresser, and you can buy changing pads with fabric straps that have the other snap-end to connect. I bet if your dresser doesn't have those, you could buy a changing pad and then go to a fabric store to find the associated snap size and do some rigging to install them yourself. Here, this is what I mean...

@midwestbaby We just used a hot glue gun and put a zig zag pattern on the back of the changing pad. It held fine for me but we didn't use it a ton either. Might be worth a try though. I always found it easier to just change lo on our bed or the floor.

@caitlinj187 oh that's a good idea! Thank you! I'm going to check ours to see if it has snaps when I get home. 

@AmandaG225 we probably will use the floor mostly too. I was thinking it mostly might get used as our also gets older for changes before bedtime. Especially since our room and the nursery are on opposite ends of the house. 

@AliKay20  I think I am finding out that I am a little more neurotic in the planning department than most people lol. Once i made it through the first trimester, I kinda went wild getting it all ready the last 8 weeks. I am ashamed to admit I have a spreadsheet outlining how many of each clothing items I have per age group for this baby. It's a disease really...

We've ordered a white crib & dresser and a light gray glider/ottoman set.  I don't have any decor yet but we're going to do white and gray as the base colors and then light pink (think the Pantone Color of the Year "Rose Quartz") and gold.  This pillow from PB Kids is my design/color inspiration:



I also really want to incorporate zoo animals so I'm going to get animal figurines from Michael's and spray paint them gold.  We will probably also get the large giraffe from PB Kids unless we can find a cheaper version.

Ours is is navy and grey woodland themed. Still need to get a dresser and glider.

Thank you! And I got it on etsy. I'm not crafty and the seller was awesome, so I had to get it. She custom does the colors you want and everything.

We haven't started yet because DD is still in the nursery.  We just ordered her big girl bed last week *tear*, so as soon as that's in we'll start transitioning her over and then we can convert the girly decor to boy decor.  Here's the bed that we got her - it's nicer than ours!  lol



As for the nursery, I think we're just gonna go with navy blues and greys, the wall color will stay the same.  Then his heartbeat stuffed animal is a fox, so I might get a few more fox things to throw in there, but I'm not big on having a theme centered around something, I'm more or a color palate person.  I actually found this bedding, and the robin's egg blue in it matches the wall color in the current nursery almost perfectly (yes, DD has a blue nursery   ), so I think this might be what we go with!   I might put more navy in there to darken it up a bit, and the curtains will be navy, but this color scheme is my inspiration.

Wow these look great! I have a lot of my ideas but need to start putting it together! We are doing teal and purple under the sea theme!

FIL is coming down on the 30th to paint, and I just ordered the rug so after that we can bring in furniture and start decorating!

We're doing a woodland theme with navy walls and the same stuffed fox that @midwestbaby has! I can't wait to get started but we're in the process of a major home renovation and we'll be cutting it close... Fingers crossed we can move back in mid-June. I'm loving seeing everyone else's nurseries and getting some great ideas though!

We finally moved DD to her big girl bed. We skipped the toddler bed and just put the mattress and boxspring for her twin bed directly on the floor. She did good last night but I had to lay with her until she was asleep. I'm more nervous for nap time today because it's always harder than bed time. It made me a little sad to not see her in the crib but at least we will have another baby to put in it soon!

We're no where close to done, we have wall decals which need to go up, shelves, and framed prints which are planned... And yes there is a lion in our apple / farm themed nursery. My husband insists there are lions on farms.... I've been advocating relocating the kitty to the play room. 
But the bones of the room are starting to come together!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has been nesting! 23 weeks 3 days with DD. Can't wait to meet her, in the mean time I'll keep decorating! Waiting to get our glider until after my shower. I have some things I still want to hang on the walls. Trying to do a cute outdoor theme for little Ella!

I'm doing Grey and Pink with some whites and golds too!  Love this pillow, might get it for the glider!

Ladies I love all of the work and progress, I'm so jealous. All I've been able to do is sew a few things since the basement is still being built/reno'd. I can't wait to get down there and to start painting, looks like I won't be able to until July at the earliest.

FYI Sherwin Williams is having a 40% off sale this weekend I believe. We're planning to get the paint for our nursery then. Planning to go with a gray but still deciding the shade... there are way too many to choose from!

I havent bought anything either, except a few cute onesies. I am kind of boycotting all of the stuff I know we are going to have to get. I just don't want more stuff.

It's actually a good idea, I overbought sooooo much for DD, and she had some things that we're almost identical.  It got hard to keep track of what I had for her.
