@ladyshark311 I have to respectfully disagree, I believe there is a DIRECT correlation between the two. Children are not allowed to bring peanut butter to school for the overall health, safety, and well being of all students (i.e. students like your child with the nut allergy).
Children should NOT be able to bring illnesses that jeopardize the overall health, safety, and well being of other students because their parents choose not to vaccinate.
They are not implying that having a nut allergy is a choice or that the parents of children with allergies and antivax parents are comparable. I think perhaps you're misunderstanding the point? The focus is absolutely on measures taken to protect the Students. Why is one acceptable or enforced over the other? That's just how I read it though!
My UO this week is that i don't like posting pictures of kids on facebook.
its less about paranoia and more about... Respect? Like, that kid is gonna be an adult one day and who knows what his or her social media presence needs are gonna be. Maybe no one will care about some baby photos, but maybe they will. Is it my right to make those decisions for the kid?
I don't necessarily mind pictures, but what about those parents that make their newborn baby their own FB page & tag them in all the pictures & statuses?! I totally judge these people. And yes I agree with you @celette482, it should be that kid's prerogative to one day decide what goes on "their" page.
@Kaessi I feel like the right to be forgotten/ the right to control our social media presence is only going to be more important as time goes on. I'm gonna try to be cautious. I might be okay with family pictures, but I'm gonna try to avoid anything that could be embarrassing later on (those I'm gonna save for an album)
my cats, however, have no social media rights and I will post every picture of them stuck somewhere or doing something stupid that I can find. So. There.
I can't remember now who asked but YES. I keep changing my photo. Why the hell can't I reposition it? I like to change it up if that bothers anyone. Idgaf
Kissing my kids on the lips isn't weird for me because there is nothing sexual in my intention. I didn't grow up getting kissed on the lips. I didn't plan on kissing lips or not. I think I started with cheek kisses but I felt bad dodging my 12 month old when she came in for a peck.
As a kid my parent's never kissed me on the lips it just wasn't something we did. But as becoming a step mom I have started getting used to the idea they just want to show you love. So I think I will do it with my child, we will see though...
I kiss all of my nieces and nephews on the lips, I'm not sure how that got started because I don't kiss my aunts on the lips. My oldest nephew who is 8 stopped and it doesn't bother me at all. It is completely innocent and just how we show affection.
@celette482 I completely agree with you regarding social media and being more selective on the pictures we share of our children.
She was complaining about women who were freaking out about zika and more or less called them stupid...in her own, unique, grammatically incorrect way.

Thats what I was thinking @JamieK1882. Who are you? Go away. haha.
ETA: Not really go away. Why would you pop up out of no where and with such a rude comment. You have had very little presence on this board and thats your first impression?
