Now DH is throwing out the name Brooklyn Grace (still along side Andie Claire and Evan Elaina). At this rate this poor girl's name is going to be Baby haha WHY am I having such a hard time accepting names?!
@Ssoccerball -- are there any last names that you like that you could use for a middle name? We are using my mom's maiden name for this kiddo's middle name, boy or girl.
That's a good suggestion...But my family is Swedish and my DH's family is German, so our options are Lundstrom, Briesacher and Barton. Barton is my DH's middle name, so it's still an option, but our son is named after that side of DH's family so I'd kind of like to spread the love around.
Shoot. Barton is the best of the bunch in terms of a middle name...but I think Lundstrom could work too! you'll find the right thing.
We are having a boy, and the front runner is Dylan James... Although, I really don't want him called DJ, but I don't think children are really concerned with middle names. As long as we don't start it, I don't see why it would happen.
@Thscary@runningisrad I have NO idea what the deal is with DHs wanting to name our children after super heroes etc. It's just begging for name-calling/teasing in the future. No one will think it's "awesome". I knew a Michael Fox... c'mon now people...
@AnnaS930 and @Ssoccerball --right there with ya in crazy nicknames. My guy is "monkey-moo, doodle-bug/butt, squirt, bugaboo" and more. I wasn't ever much of a nickname person...until I had a kid. Haha.
l'm right there with you guys! My dog's real name is Romeo, but sometimes I roll the "R" and it sounds like Prrrrrromeo, or he's Fluffer, the fluff, fuff, fuzzy lumpkin, fluffer muffin, fuzzbutt, fuzzle, fuzzmonster, snuggle monster, shameful puke beast, shameful garbage diving turd monster, etc etc etc.
I'm pretty sure for a boy I either want Lucas (Luke) or Leo. But I haven't decided how they go with my already named kids. They all have classic names. DH likes Jack but our last name starts with the same beginning Ja sound and I hate alliteration.
We won't know the sex for another month, but I've known my girl name since I was a kid! At least the first name For a girl we have Lucy Cynthia. Cynthia is after my aunt, who is more of my big sister than anything- though DH would rather have Lucy Ann because Ann is MIL's middle name. Lucky for him, he knows I'm the one pushing it out so I pull rank LOL! And for a boy we have Jameson Edmund. Edmund is after my FIL, though he hates his own name and wishes we wouldn't. DH wanted to make it Jameson James (UGH!). James is a family name on both our sides, but there are really too many of them in both of our families, so Jameson was a spin off. Plus, we met on Saint Patrick's Day, so it works lol! I also loved the name Mason for a boy, but DH is set on Jameson or Jackson. Another family member just had a Jackson, so I'm not going there. Plus DH just likes it because of Sons of Anarchy lol!
We don't have an ultrasound until the end of April due to scheduling conflicts! I'm jealous of all these moms who already know! Our boy name is Ezra Douglass. Douglass is my FIL and his father's middle name. For a girl, I love Caroline. Husband is still set on Addison, so we will see.
Well be naming our little man John Savino after my father in law...we've always loved the name so when we found out we were having a boy, we knew that was his name
We're circling some names! Thinking Nico for a boy and Ramona, or possibly Nina for a girl. No middle names. (Our last name is already an insanely long and difficult Italian burden.)

Not gonna lie, I'd be totally down for this if I liked any superhero names. I kind of liked Logan (wolverine), but Dh vetoed it because of a bad association. I also liked Oliver (green arrow), but a close friend just used it.
@pepper6 We're going with Logan for one of our twins, boy or girl. I love X-Men but didn't pick it because of the association. I picked it because it's a nice name that reflects my heritage.
DH seems to think I did, though, and I know our friends are going to assume so since they've only ever seen Logan as Wolverine's name and they're comic book fans.
I admit that I can't get down with all the people naming their sons Logan James, though. It's a nice name combination that goes together well, but it's Wolverine's name flipped around (his first name is James and his middle name is Logan for those who aren't familiar) and it would bother me, even if most people probably wouldn't make the connection.
I did joke that we should name the other Remy (Gambit), though, since it's another unisex name (in America, anyway) and Gambit is my favorite X-Men character.
We found out we are having a little girl and I think we are set on Brynlee Jennifer Marie. I've been obsessed with Brynlee for as long as I can remember, Jennifer is my husbands moms name and she passed away last February and Marie is my middle name. People think it's too long but I had to throw my middle name in there so it didn't sound like I was calling my MIL every time I said her full name.
@faeriem I love the tradition your family has for naming girls. We don't have a strong connection to the name, but have considered the name Maria. My mn is Marie after my great aunt, but that's not really a factor in considering if. Maybe this is a strange question, but do you like your name?
@MojieJo I actually really like the name Remy! Also a few years ago we tried to convince some friends of ours to name their baby Remy Lebeau after Gambit LOL

With my son, we knew his first name was going to be Charles but it took more time to decide a middle name. At one point my husband, who is very much into comic books, jokingly suggested Xavier. I didn't pick up on the comic book association at first and told him I liked it.
@runningisrad So do I! I said it in jest, but it is a nice name that I really like.
DH is completely against it, though, (not sure if he doesn't like the name or just the association, even though Gambit is a favorite of his, too) and I don't want to go too far since we're already going with Logan anyway. There's no way I could even try to argue that I just like the names at that point.
Weirdly, he didn't fight me at all on Logan. He gave me a weird look at first (probably because he assumed it was a Wolverine reference and not just me liking the name), but that was it. I thought he might strangle me when I suggested Remy, though, even though I was joking. I'm pretty sure he genuinely doesn't like it as a name, on top of the comic reference thing, though.
@marajay6 At least it has a nice flow to it! I can see why you liked it before you realized.
On a random note, I was just telling my husband the other day that I'd just realized that three of our four cats accidentally share names with X-Men comic characters (Charlie [Professor X], Raven [Mystique] and Belladonna [Belladonna Boudreaux]). I didn't mean to do it and Raven already had his name when we adopted him, but I still thought it was funny. He just rolled his eyes.
Thanks, @faeriem and @mhilpisch10 Reading your replies got me a little teary so I think that means Maria is definitely a contender I find it a very beautiful name and like you both said, it's very familiar, but not super popular. I also love that it's a familiar name Internationally. I first started to think about it prior to pregnancy when I heard someone sing Ave Maria around christmastime and felt very emotional.
@MojieJo- when I suggested the name Emmett to my husband he was like "I love that name.. but because I'm a Cowboys fan, everyone is going to assume we named him after Emmitt Smith" but he didn't really care if people thought that, and neither did I. Yes, we get jokes about it - but as long as it doesn't bother you, then go with a name you love. Also (so far) Emmitt Smith is a really great dude.. would I be ok with people thinking I named my kid after a OJ Simpson? no way. Logan (Wolverine) is awesome.. so if it's a good association even if not what you had in mind, I don't think it's a big deal at all! I love the name Logan and I love Wolverine and it's not the first place my mind went. Had you decided to name the other twin Jean Grey ... welllllll. lol
It's not the end of the world to me if people think it's a Wolverine reference. I'm probably going to have to embrace it with our friends, because there's no way they're not going to make it a long-term running joke.
MIL's husband (no one thinks of him as DH's step-father since they got married recently, late in life and all the kids from both marriages are grown) is a huge Wolverine fan, so I know he's going to have a ball with it, too, but it's alright.
And now I know what name to tease DH with next if the other twin is a girl.

Hunter Samson Micheal. All after wonderful men in our lives.
At first I vetoed hunter but when my fiancé said the full name I cried because I knew it was it!
