Ezra Dylan came at 8:30pm after 20 hours of labor and 8 hours pushing and an all natural birth! He had the cord around his neck three times so it kept pulling him in!
Elle & Sasha arrived May 2nd at 10:59 & 11:00 am! they were born via scheduled c-section at 35+5 weeks due to being mono-di twins and laying transverse. Elle was 5lbs 6oz and Sasha was 6lbs 5oz.
We're excited our twin boys are here! I was induced May 1st (38 weeks + 2 days). August Joseph was born at 10:00pm, weighing 7 lbs 3 oz, 19 3/4" and Wesley Ellis at 10:27pm, weighing 7 lbs 1 oz, 20 1/2" long. Both were born vaginally. Wesley (baby was breech and they were able to turn him although I was seconds away from having a C-section when Wesley's heart rate dropped after the turning. His heart rate returned to normal and they let me give pushing one more try. I'll post the full story sometime.
our little girl Temperance was born at 34 weeks on the 30th of March after a 40hour labour. I managed with just entonox and she came out at 5lb2oz. She is doing really well.
So baby boy Corbin got decided he really wanted his Cinco de Mayo birthday. Not the huge baby every one thought. 7 pounds 2 oz, 21 inches. Mom and baby are doing well. We started induction around 8 this morning but over many many hours he never moved down from -2 station and I never dialated past 4 cm. The pitocin was causing baby to have a decelerated heart rate so we opted for a c-section - which is a good thing bc he actually had his cord wrapped around him 3 times. He never would have moved down on his own without cord issues.
Complete 180 from my birth plan of no c-section and a birth center birth but I absolutely could not be happier, both with my choice and my awesome little boy. Feeding and latching like a champ and DH and I are just both absolutely in love.
Silas Orion was born on May 5 @ 4:14 AM. He's 7 Pounds 11 ounces, and he's perfectly healthy, though I forgot how scary this mucous coughing can be. Loving my bby boy so much.
Savannah Jane was born on May 6th at 5:19am after 13 hours of labor weighing 7lbs 7oz and 19.5" long. She's perfect! I cannot believe how much hair she has!
Henry Weston 7lbs 2oz 21" born Cinco de Mayo at 1:47pm
Labor was smooth, but recovery not so much. Henry is perfection and loves the boob! But I've been a bit of a mess. I tore over a vessel that caused me to lose quite a bit of blood. In recovery after labor I had a few episodes of low BP (like 70/40) that made me pass out, vomit everywhere (DH caught it in a lunch tray...) some low hemoglobin levels still making me light headed today but we're finally recovering well! I couldn't be happier!
Emerson Rain was born May 4, 7:25 pm, 7 lbs, 7oz via C-section after a failed induction. I came in Tuesday night to start the baloon, it worked so well that I didn't have to do cervidil at midnight! Started pitocin at 7, dr broke my water at 8:30ish, started labor very well! I originally wanted to have a vaginal med free delivery, but after we decided to induce (for several reasons) I knew that I would probably end up getting an epidural because contractions on pitocin (and broken waters) are much worse. Got an epidural around 10:30, and labored for 4 hours but was in excruciating pain. Being a FTM, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but knew something couldn't be right. I was shaking so hard and had severe back pain. My legs were only numb in places- I could still move them around. They finally redid the epidural and I could tell an immediate difference! Even the injection felt different! Labored through the last 2 cm in two hours with my phone in my hand, breathing through the contractions. Epidurals (that work) are AMAZING! Then it was time to push. I pushed for 2 hours and nothing was happening. A whole team of nurses were in there with me, along with my mom and DH, telling me that I was going a great job. They kept saying he was almost there and that they saw his head. I have witnessed a few births before and knew if they could see his head we should be minutes away. Minutes turned into two hours. The dr wasn't sure if he wasn't coming because he was too big or posterior, and didn't want to risk it either way, so off the the OR for a CS.
LO ended up being posterior and the cord around his neck, so I am relieved we went with the section.
We have a strong BF relationship, despite the C-section and I am so thankful! One of the main reasons why I did not want one. I love this little man so much!!
William Easton born at 39w5d on May 5th at 9:49pm via emergency c-section. He weighed 9lbs 6oz and was 23 inches long!
On the night of May 3rd (my birthday), I started my bloody show and lost the rest of my mucus plug along with cramps and BH. May 4th morning, I went to the OB for my bloody discharge and they sent me home because they weren't concerned and I was 2cm and 70% effaced still. Later that night, I was having irregular contractions and cramps. Around 10:30pm, real contractions started and progressed through the night at 7-10 minutes apart.
The birthing center wanted me to wait till 3-5 minutes apart contractions to go in. At 5:30am, we went in anyway because contractions got super intense. I got admitted after 2 hours of contractions 7-10 minutes apart, going from 3cm to 5cm. Labored with pitocin for 2 hrs then asked for the epidural. Epidural didn't work fully on me, I still felt intense back pain and low abdominal cramps. They upped the dosage of epidural (4x the dosage of normal) and it didn't work either. I just couldn't feel my legs.
Once I reached 10cm and 100% effaced, we pushed for 2.5 hours with little progress. Doctor felt like he was a big baby and trying to enter sunny-side up (he was actually turned sideways). I threw in the towel and opted for a c-section. Since my epidural didn't work, I felt the initial cut and tug on my belly and screamed out in pain. They immediately put me to sleep so I didn't get to hear his first cry or anything. DH was able to be in the room so he got everything videoed
So, after 22 hrs of labor with 2.5 hours of pushing (all I did was give him a cone head because his head was too big for my pelvis) then an emergency c-section. This big boy is totally worth the truck that hit my body!
We seriously love him so much! He's a great little eater and had many wet and dirty diapers within the first 24 hours of life! Can't wait to bring him home
Jacob Owen was born on May 5th at 8:33 am via scheduled Csection at week 39+1. Csection went really well and I'm healing wonderfully. Unfortunately Jacob has some low blood sugar issues so has been spending some time in the NICU. We both get released tomorrow though which is the best Mother's Day present.
Dominic James born May 7 at 12:15 pm. 8lb 5oz. 20 3/4 inches. We were schedule for a repeat c-section on Thursday May 12 but he decided to come a bit early! I started having contractions at 2am Saturday morning. C section went extremely well and I am recovering better this time around. Big sister, Isabelle, is so excited. She can't stop giving him kisses and telling everyone about him and about how much she loves him. It was a surprise since I never even made it to 1 centimeter, but it was quite a Mother's Day!!!
Team green, went pink! Elliott Paisley was born 5/7 at 4:25PM. I swear my water broke at 8:37, went to the hospital at 9:30, was sent home because I was "cramping" and most likely had a "GI issue" at 11:30. I was dialated <1. The pain only got worse, my husband called twice and begged them to do something. The told us to come back at 1:30, decided we needed to go to the ER because it wasn't a birth problem, they thought it was a possible bowel obstruction causing the pain. Half way across the hospital, I had a contraction, the nurse felt my belly, looked at me, and immediately turned me around back to the birthing center. They put me in the first open room, told me to get the gown on, she checked me, I was 6cm dialated at 2:00. They called the dr, she came back, checked me and was like, you're almost there, I have to go the ER, I'll be right back. They had to call her back, and I was off pushing. There was no time for anything. An hour and a half of pushing and she showed up. The doctor couldn't believe that my labor went that quick. 8lbs 1oz 20in. She is the best baby! She knows what she wants, and damnit she is going to get it.
Isla Brienne was born via c section on May 8 after she failed to desecnd properly. I was given a cervix ripener May 5 through May 6. It was a slow, tedious, frustrating process. Eventually a Foley bulb was placed, which was extremely painful for me, and pitocin was started soon after. I opted for the epidural when contractions got unbearable, and it helped for a while but the whole next day I was still feeling a lot of pain with each contraction. After a long battle and no progress, we decided on a c section. Unfortunately, Isla has to spend the next week in the nicu. I'm devastated but she is perfect and was a beautiful Mother's Day gift.
little Wren Julianne came singing swiftly into the world... got to the hospital and water broke in the er lobby... she was born 45mins later. (unmedicated labor is NO joke!)
Asher Louis was born 5.6.16 via RCS. 8lbs 6 oz 20.5 In long. He's perfect and my recovery has gone amazingly well so far. Breastfeeding is a challenge as it was the first time around but we're getting the hang of it. Sent home today and definitely overwhelmed with toddler and newborn!
Harlon Elijah was born vaginally at 7:07pm 5/9/2016 after a 7 hour induction and a vacuum assisted delivery. 7lb, 8oz, 20" He failed his nst at the office and had 2 additional big decels during the induction. When it came time to push he was really struggling. My dr (who I LOVE) locked eyes with me and gave me a look that said "you get a couple pushes to move this kid or we are in the OR."
We welcomed Henry Graham into the world on May 10th at 6:45 AM. He weighed in at 7 pounds 9 ounces and measured 20 inches. Henry nurses like a champ and already poops like a pro. We love him to pieces!
Nash Kenneth was born on his due date on 5-10-16 at 2:06 pm and weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and 21.5 inches long. He looks just like his big brother and we are so in love!
She's here!! Harper Rose was born this evening after 22 hours of labor that went no where. We opted for a cs as she wasn't progressing and wasn't doing well on the pitocin. I've not really had much time with her as I feel asleep during surgery but looking forward to snuggles tomorrow. When I have a better pic of here I'll post but in the meantime here is daddy and his little girl
What a night! Welcome to the world vincent michael jr.! He showed up 5/10 at 10:29 pm! Weighing 5 lbs 14 oz and 17 inches long. Had an emergency CS due to him being breech! Only come to find out he had some medical issues. Hes now at the local children's hospital for a few days or more he was born with scoliosis and his fave was a little disformed and he has a very narrow palate and cannot feed correctly. Otherwise hes beautiful and we are so much in love!! Pictures to soon come.. the first pic is him at almost 2 weeks and the second one is him at birth!
Virginia Rose is finally here, after 3 long days of induction! She is 9 lb 1 oz, 21", and already has some hilarious back fat rolls. Thank god we induced at 39 weeks because I can't even imagine how big she would have been if we had waited til she came on her own! We are doing well & big brother is (so far) delighted.
Sadie Josephine surprised us on May 11! Little bunny was born at 3:11pm weighing 6.2 lbs and measuring 18.5 inches. She's breastfed and pooped and hiccuped and cried and is absolutely gorgeous! I'm so excited to be her mama!
Everly "Evie" Daphne arrived at 12:05am on 5/12 after a scheduled induction for 5/11 began with me actually going into labor on my own in the middle of the night on 5/10. Only had to have pitocin for 2 hours before my body did its thing. I got that epidural fast after they broke my water while on pitocin. Was stuck at a 8-9 cm for about 5 hours before they started having me push. Pushed for 1.5 hours and little (or big) Evie came out weighing 8lbs 14oz and 21 inches in length. OB had to cut me and ended up cutting me A LOT (I'm terrified of my first bowel movement to come). She's BFing like a champ and sleeps like a baby We love her so much!
Our little girl (still haven't decided which name we like!) came today at 5:03pm. Ended up having to get cut and have her vacuumed out- she was a little bit big for me
She has her daddy's mouth- they both pout out their bottom lip constantly, which is absolutely adorable.
After 30 hours of labor by induction my peanut of a princess made her much awaited debut. 41+2days. She is a healthy baby girl and so far nursing like a champ. We are in heaven and feeling beyond blessed. Can't wait for big bro to meet her.
Michael Joseph arrived 5/12 @ 9:52 pm 38 wks - 7lbs 14oz 21.5 in
I went in for my weekly appt in the morning and the doctor said I was 5cm and my water was bulging. He pretty much said see you tonight and sure enough, we did I was having pretty mild (no pain) contractions for about an hour and then my water broke at 8:45 pm. The contractions were immediately painful and almost right on top of each other. We got to the hospital and had him about 45 minutes later. It would have been sooner, but the doctor was 15 minutes out. I probably could have pushed at 9:30 if they let me. I'm sooooo glad we only live a mile from the hospital!
Harry Andrew was born this morning, 5/13 at 5:49AM after a fast and furious induction. Just barely got the epidural in time to push. He is an absolute miracle and his dad's mini-me to a T. He's already had the hiccups three times today just like he always did in utero. We are so blessed.
Here's Clara Leslie Wallander on the day she was born, Monday, May 9th, 2016!! She was born via repeat c-section at 37.2wks at 9:07am, weighing 7lbs 10oz (huge!) and 20 in long. This Team Green baby turned pink to join her 2 older sisters! Wow, 3 girls!
The longer version: We were scheduled for a repeat c-section at 37weeks due to my prior c-section having a vertical incision. We left the house at 6:30am, and we were joined by Clara at 9:07am - how's that for efficiency?! I had some concerns about spinal anesthesia because I was worried about scaring from the past c-section and the higher risk for hemorrhage, however the anesthesiologist assured me that my risk for outlasting my spinal was low. As it turned out, my OB said my uterus was in good shape, had little scar tissue, and would even be suitable for another pregnancy. (probably not gonna happen! haha). Clara cried at delivery - and so did I - and my OB delayed her cord clamping for one minute per my request. However, Clara's color didn't improve. She was kind of a purple color. The NICU was called to assess her transition to life outside the womb, and as soon as the doctor arrived, she pinked right up! We were then able to do skin-to-skin for 10min in the OR before getting cleaned up to go back to the pacu. Then, she was back on my chest, but she wasn't ready to breastfeed after such a rough transition. We snuggled and enjoyed out time together. We talked about her name, and decided on Clara, my husband's great-grandmother's name and Leslie for a middle name, to honor my mother. Recovery has been fairly uneventful for us: I've had the normal c-s complaints of pain, cramping, itching from anesthesia, and air pain in my shoulders. Today, 4 days later, just the soreness and cramping remain! Clara is also doing very well! She lost too much weight the first 2 days: from 7lb 10 oz to 6lb 12oz, but she's beginning to gain. She doesn't nurse very long, and she spits up much of what she eats! She is however, a good sleeper, so we will stick it out, especially now that my milk is in We got home yesterday, and it is a relief to be home, but crazy to think that in just over a week, I will be on my own during the day with two 2yr olds and a newborn. How's that going to work?!
Congrats to all the new mommies and the soon-to-be mommies!! Love all you May Ladies!!
James Ellis was born this morning via successful vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean), and I could not be more thrilled with how labor went (even if it was a total of 28 hours!!!). His birth story is in the vbac thread! 8 lbs 13 oz, 21 1/2 in long, and born with a business-like haircut We absolutely adore him!
Ian Charles was born on May 10th at 6:41am, weighed 8lbs 11oz and he was 20.5 inches long. I went in for a scheduled induction (measuring < 1) on the 9th, and it went super fast. They inserted the cervidil at 7pm, and it worked better than anyone expected. By 4am, I was having contractions every minute or two, so they checked me and I was at a 3-4cm. They decided to pull the cervidil, and that actually seemed to speed things up even more, and by 6am I was ready to push. He's a chunky little man, and his big siblings couldn't be happier!
Re: May 2016 Birth Announcements--Do NOT Comment Unless Announcing Birth
they were born via scheduled c-section at 35+5 weeks due to being mono-di twins and laying transverse.
Wesley (baby
was breech and they were able to turn him although I was seconds away from having a C-section when Wesley's heart rate dropped after the turning. His heart rate returned to normal and they let me give pushing one more try. I'll post the full story sometime.

Been married since 2009.
Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter)

We have a strong BF relationship, despite the C-section and I am so thankful! One of the main reasons why I did not want one.
