Re: Week of 2/29 Randoms

  • @Shelby00519 I've never heard of a husband not staying. My DD was terrible crying nonstop from the beginning and I was a wreck at the hospital and got virtually no sleep. DH never left and never even thought about it.

  • I'm a FTM, but our LO is transverse. No one is worried about it yet, they just said it's something they'll keep a watch on in the next couple of months. Too much room still to be forced to turn a specific way.

  • @PhoebeJune1984 so sorry to hear about your friends daughter! That's just awful.

@Shelby00519 I assume my husband will definitely be staying as long as I am there, which will hopefully not be long after birth. However long it ends up being though, I can't see him even considering leaving me and the baby.
  • @soberkfell  I had my a/s last week and baby was head down.  I had another one today and he started breech and was transverse by the end.  I asked the tech about it and she said there's so much room to move around right now.  She said docs typically don't worry about it until 32 weeks or after.
  • It must be my lucky day. I got an extra bo round in my order from Bojangles this morning. Awwww yiss!

  • @PhoebeJune1984 - Just catching up on this thread and I'm so sorry for your loss.

@Shelby00519 - MH stayed with me the whole time last time and will stay with me again this time. Our DD will be staying with either my ILs or my parents so we're not really concerned about that.

  • @ButterMyBiscuit - I'm jealous you have a Bojangles near you. We only have one and it's a hike. My husband talks about it allll the time but we never actually go because it's so far.

  • @pheobejune1984 how devastating! Thank goodness they caught the bastard

@shelby00519 DH will be staying with me, my hospital is 45 minutes away and we will be in a private room with a murphy bed for him. MIL will take care of the cats.

@schaze let me know if you need any help...Im a travel agent on the side. PM me with anything!
  • Thanks, ladies. I figured he probably is floating all around in there changing positions... thought it was odd that the OB nurse would bring it up so early!
  • I have no idea what we are going to do when I have this baby. My eldest can stay at home with my mom, but I am not sure about the little one. She is very attached to us and is not a huge fan of my mom. But she will be 2.5 years old then.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • @HoneyBear40 oh girl... I feel you on this.
  • @soberkfell My second was transverse until the day I went into labor. No worries. ;)

Do you think it would be over reacting if I told the girl I watch kids for that I can't/she needs to come home because her kids are sick? She claimed before I got here her daughter didn't have a fever today but she feels like she's burning up. She also has hives, which according to mom is a allergic reaction to medicine the doctor gave her. I just got over the stomach flu and I already feel like I'm coming down with something again and I'm worried about baby.
  • @Shelby00519 I don't think that's overreacting. Fevers are really dangerous for pregnant women, and she is putting your baby at risk by exposing you.

  • Yeah her reply was "It's just an ear infection, you're fine trust me I've been pregnant before." -_-

That's a pretty ballsy response! Maybe you should inform her that whether or not you're pregnant, a typical daycare would require her to come pick her child up and that said child must be fever-free for 24 hours before being allowed back. And, if her kid has hives, she's having an allergic reaction to something... potentially the antibiotics prescribed for the ear infection, so she should be high-tailing it home to take her daughter in to get checked out!
  • @DeriveMyPi Wow! What does that mean?

  • @DeriveMyPi WOAH! How does that work? Are they both connected to the baby? Or to each other? That's nuts!

  • @DeriveMyPi I have never heard of that! I hope everything goes well at your ultrasound! Did they tell you at all how that happens in the first place?

DH was able to find a cabin nearby for our getaway next month that I posted about a couple days ago.. it still has a 2 night stay requirement but since it's close (within 45 minutes) he is taking a half-day at work so we will just stay Saturday and Sunday. Now I feel silly for my sob fest the other day. I am so done with these hormones!
  • @elenabrent Not sure!! That is why I have to go get a better ultrasound done. The tech said she thought they might be connected to each other by a small piece. And they definitely want to see where the baby connects to them. I've consulted Dr Google and there isn't much about it either. Just something that "happens."

  • @DeriveMyPi That is very interesting! I didn't know that was possible either.
  • So random question for stm, did your feet go back to your old shoe size?  I'm finding my runners a little snug so I got a pair a half size bigger and now I'm not sure if I should hang on to the old, perfectly good pair?
  • My feet only got a tiny bit swollen at the end, but they did go back. It should just be swelling, not actual growth, so your shoes should fit again as far as I know.

Never.... I went up a half size. I am a shoe hoarder though and still have mine that are too small in the slim chance that they will fit eventually?
  • @Taymiller That's totally my fear. I have so many beautiful boots and heels that I'm not wearing right now but want to again. Plus I don't have small feet to begin with, a half size I can handle but if I go up a full size or slightly more finding pretty shoes will be less fun
  • Thank you guys for the answer. I'll just hang on in case and cross my fingers. Soon it'll be sandal season and I won't be thinking about shoes anyway (I say directly after being hit with a snow storm)
  • @Weville yea my feet were already a 9.5! I didn't need the additional shift in size. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was up a full size which sucked but it was just because they were sooo swollen.
  • Weville said:
@Taymiller I'm taking the last month of pregnancy off so I can literally be bare foot and pregnant. There's a giant park in my neighbourhood so I just figure I'll barefoot it in the park while my dogs romp around. (And now I'm off to find a Jane Fonda-esque maternity dress)
    Perfect!
  • I'm a 10.5 which no one carries, so I end up wearing 11s that are too big because I'm too lazy to place a special order. Maybe it would be good if my feet got bigger this time.

  • My feet stayed the larger size they grew to during my last pregnancy. My boobs did, too.
  • I'm wondering about my boobs too... I have really small boobs anyway, so they still aren't big, but they are HARD! And my nipples are insane.
  • Oh Jesus I hope my boobs go back. They are fully ridiculous right now. If they stay this size I'm getting a reduction down the road or I'll never button a shirt again
