Totally OT, but one of my FB "friends" just posted that it is unfair to demonize Trump supporters (ok, fair enough) because...people who support Black Lives Matter are "just as bad as white supremacists". WHHHHAAAAAAA? And, unfriended!

@yogahh Is that normal for you ladies to just have pics/moments with celebrities?! There was another lady who's met Stephen King and one who sat next to Bucky (Winter Soldier). The closest I've ever got to meeting a celebrity was high fiving the Cookie Monster...
Eta: and it wasn't even the real cookie monster Just some dude in a suit. Fake!
We have celebrities in the office quite a bit, but this is the first I've ran into one in the hallway. Although once A-rod from the Yankees was in. He was about two cubicles from me with a gang of girls from the office surrounding him. I just stayed in my seat cuz I think he's a perv. He kept looking over like "what? Why are you adoring me too?"
This is amazing. Also I feel like in general most people that live in NYC don't get all that crazy about celebrities. There's a handful of actors that live in our neighborhood and I think they like that people just leave them alone. Although Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds lived in our old building a few years ago and he was avoiding getting in the elevator so he wouldn't be recognized and his adorable dog followed me in, so he was forced to talk to me.
So maybe Blake lively I would get excited about. I saw SJP once outside of the office (we share with huff post so they always have people too) which was a fun sighting. And "mr big" lives in the area and is always walking around. First time I saw him I blushed! But the best sighting was Brooke shields! I sooooo wanted to ask to take a pic with her but I couldn't be that person. But I agree, being a New Yorker you just play it cool like you see these people all the time.
And I "partied" with Paris Hilton at her record release party years ago, cause I was "cool like that" (not).
I'm dying, I forgot Paris had a short lived music career. Blake Lively is absolutely gorgeous in person and about a million feet tall. The guy we buy our Christmas tree from would always brag that he delivered her tree. I always see the tour busses and I wonder if they know where people live? If you just walk around long enough you'll see someone. Julianne Moore lives up the street and goes to our coffee shop but I never recognize her until I hear her voice. But one day she was standing outside talking to the cop guy from Bridesmaids and I was like, why do I know you guys? And then a cranky old lady yelled at them for talking outside her open window. Amazing, but she was so apologetic and gracious for disturbing the woman.
If I see someone really famous I'll probably try and act cool (and fail with some). I have no interest in the Kardashian clan or any of those B-class people - but if I were to see Damain Lewis, or Benedict Cumberbatch - that would be a good day and I will want to ask for a pic.
Woman at work: how are you doing me: pretty exhausted today woman: when are you due again? me: just under 7 weeks woman: oh you still have quite a ways left
NO SHIT! Thanks for reminding me I'm only going to start feeling worse. I really appreciate that when right now I just want to go back to bed!!!

URG my boss is notorious for this comment NO 7 weeks is not "quite a ways left".. it is literally right around the corner. Stop diminishing my pains and issues because "you" feel that is a lot of time left!
I dislike Fedex and cringe whenever I see that something I've ordered is being shipped through them. I had a package coming Weds... didn't show up till late the next day. Had one coming yesterday and now it's supposedly coming today. I hope so anyway bc it's my dog's flea medicine which the vet already took forever approving the prescription so it could ship in the first place. I try to plan my day around picking up my packages so they don't sit out all day and it's really hard to when they don't update the status pretty much ever and then just don't show up.
I ventured into compression socks today. It took me 10 minutes to get them on and I broke a sweat. I was breathing so heavily that the dog got up to investigate.
@kami09 I see I spelt his name wrong and too lazy to edit - sorry. Are you watching BILLIONS? His character is excellent. Almost as good as Charlie Crews

stars are blind? because I may or may not have had that single. maybe that should be on the FFFC thread.

YUP. Its on my ipod, so you are not alone. And honestly, the CD wasnt THAT bad. Catchy. Stars are Blind was the only song they played for 3 hours at the party though, so it was a tad bit annoying after a while!
totally random and non-pg related: I am trying to decide between buying a Toyota Prius V 4 and a Subaru Impreza 5-door Limited.
Does anyone have experience with either of these cars? I can't decide and I need to be swayed one way or the other!
No personal experience with either, but we do currently own a Subaru (Forester) and we love it. No issues whatsoever and we love the service we've gotten from them when we've needed it. Night and day difference from the other experiences we've had with our other car. Actually once we pay off this car we were planning on trading mine for possibly an Impreza. Also, if selling is a factor for you in the future, Subaru's hold their value very well in comparision to other cars and tend to last a really long time.

No experience with the impreza, but I've had a Subaru Outback for 4yrs so far and I LOVE it. Handles beautifully, is very functional and totally reliable with great gas mileage.

No experience owning either, but a good friend of mine owns a Prius. She says that she loves it for the gas mileage (she had a second job as a pizza delivery driver at the time she bought it, so that really came in handy), how much quieter it was when she drove it, and the smooth ride. I've only ridden in it once and I wasn't paying attention to the details at the time, so I can't personally attest to any of it. Hope that helps, though!
@vinerieanother vote for the Sube... we also have an Outback and it's such a great car. Our friend has an Impreza and an Outback and loves them both too.

OMG this whole thread. Compared to the 33 weeks I have already made it through 7 weeks is nothing! So yes, when you ask how I'm doing or how I'm feeling be prepared for a real answer and please keep your snark to yourself.

And I just left work after half a day. Too tired to finish so I called it a day. Now I'm tucked into bed.
@kami09He's great in Band of Brothers, too! In fact, that was the first thing I saw him in, and it was so hard to transition from his character in Band of Brothers to Homeland because he went from this outstanding, highly moral army leader to his Homeland character. That show has a lot of great actors in it - also Abraham from Walking Dead if you watch that show.
My OB brought me from 4 to 3 weeks after Week 29 (so my next appointment is 32). I wonder if she'll shorten it to 2?
Also a random question - If you could have any talent, what talent would you pick? I have no great talents, but I have always wished I could open my mouth and sing like Aretha Franklin. One of the reasons I love running is because I visualize what my American Idol performances would look like (I'm a total nerd). I cannot hold a note to save my life though, so it's nothing more than a fantasy. I car and shower sing a lot, but my baby will start kicking the crap out of me, and I realize I must be terrorizing her.

I would love to be able to play an instrument - any instrument really. I always wanted to as a child, but certain family issues always seemed to get in the way and it never happened. DH can play many instruments and my sister was in band in HS so I always feel kinda left out. This being said, DH is adamant that we at least introduce our LO to an instrument early in life. She may end up not going down that path, but DH said he always wishes someone had pushed him in that direction at an early age.
I plan on having a coke slushie for supper tonight. That has been one of my cravings. I'm seriously thinking about grabbing a vase to take with me. Just need a massive straw.
Baby is loving my right side too. I thought it was bad with feet in my ribs with my first, but LO has been breach almost always and a head in my ribs might be worse! Mostly because that means there are also feet trying to kick out the trap door. Ouch.
I also officially weigh more than my husband. He got bariatric surgery in 2014. He's losing as fast as I'm gaining. I'm to the point that I may give up and just hide the scale...
@amberwavesofdawn Do you live in DFW? We had a massive hail storm too! Only got rain at my house but my parents house got a lot of damage (3 busted skylights, will need a new roof, truck in the driveway probably totaled), my brother & SIL started a garden from seeds and it was devastated, and my church had broken windows and holes in the roof! It was really bad. It was in the 60s-70s yesterday but looked like it had snowed, the ground was white all morning!
I just cried because Michigan St. lost and I had them winning the whole tournament. I like Michigan St. but not this much. I'm soooo pregnant.
Same here, MAJOR FAIL. Now my bracket is busted and I am left in pregnancy rage. I did just eat 3 Subway cookies though and now I feel a little bit better.
@sillyfox Yes! I don't think I've ever had a storm wake me from a deep sleep without my hearing aid on before. Crazy! We didn't have any damage here outside of some broken tree limbs scattered all over the place, but I know a lot of people who are dealing with worse. Am suddenly very glad that I let my husband talk me into cutting down the tree that used to be in our front yard - the branches weren't very strong on it, and we'd definitely have a lot more damage right now if we hadn't done it.
A few years ago, my dad and sister and I went on a road trip to visit some relatives in Kansas, and we got there juuuuuuust before a storm hit. It was over in ten minutes, but the street was flooded afterward with fast moving water like a foot deep and the hail was just as you described - it looked like it had snowed everywhere. I've never seen anything like it!
We just recently had our roof redone in the last year and are pretty happy with it - let me know if your parents need a recommendation for a roofing company!
So I'm spending the night at the hospital tonight. My first hosptial stay. Had a high blood pressure reading at my regular appt and some protein in my urine. The blood work has all been good so far and my blood pressure has been good more times than it has been high. I'm doing another 24 hour urine collection. They did an biophyical ultrasound and the baby scored 6/8. They will do it again in the morning. The non stress test before bed took a long time but he seemed fine once they finally got him to stay still. Any thoughts and prayers appreciated. It's been a long stressful day!
I have a Subaru, looooove it! 2006 with 200,000+ going strong! (Knock on wood lol) I love the AWD in the winter. We are trading his Corolla for a minivan because he likes mine better too. Subaru seriously needs to build a minivan. I would have bought it the day we found out lol.
