I miss the trolls. They can be annoying but they're also entertaining. Sometimes things are extra tame and calm around here and I like the spice of a great debate.
I was just saying the same to anther bumbie. It's been boring around here. And I kinda miss Ramzi threads...
Well, if you'd really like I could bring up board tone and dismissive thread derailing again:) Apparently it does not actually violate the TOU or the Board Guidelines.
And it still happens, it's still meanspirited and mocking, it still scares people away and makes them feel bad for asking honest questions, and it is still totally unnecessary as the responders could simply choose to scroll on by rather than gratuitously insult their fellow Bumpers.
Is there anyone else that actually likes heartburn? It hurts and burns and feels weird but I like it...
Yeah, I think this is probably going to be the most unpopular opinion on this board, ever!
Yesterday I was feeling woozy at work so I laid down on the floor of my office and spent the next half hour trying to figure out whether to stay put and pee myself or get up and vomit all over myself because of the heartburn.
Pregnancy is super dignified.
(I managed to prop myself up halfway til the heartburn-induced nausea passed and then booked it to the ladies' room, but it was a near thing).

So yeah, we could argue about that some more.
How this is NOT against the TOU I don't understand....I think you just got lucky???
Also...I'm a Pgh-er who calls it soda rather than pop...)
Seriously. WHO ARE YOU!!!???? Do you also call hoagies "subs". And gumbands "rubberbands"??? Now that I am in NY for almost 12 years, I find myself saying soda. And it makes me feel disloyal
Grew up saying pop, moved to Maryland 8 years ago and now find myself saying "soda" more and more. And it makes me feel dirty
Not related to the topic but... I live in Maryland too!

No, the BumpAdmin actually messaged me to apologize --to me on y'all's behalf-- for the unwelcoming tone of the board! No comment on my choice of language or my introduction of the topic.
Not that I condone calling other Bumpies assholes or twatwaffles--it was poor judgment on my part to do so. But the only message I got from any admins was an apology.

I just find it interesting why anyone would stick around if they don't like the board tone? Or feel "unwelcomed". And to bring it up again out of nowhere just seems like an attempt to stir the pot and get everyone riled up again. On that note, I am bowing out of this convo, but you might get an invite to a Friday afternoon GIF PARRRTTTAAYYYYYYYYYYYY

Dude, you literally just said you wanted some drama and were complaining that the board was boring. I was just being obliging:)
And in case anyone was curious, this is the only message I received from the admins regarding those posts:

Not true. You can share WITH admins not share what admins said to you with other users.

I'm confused why the "unwelcome tone" is assumed to be because of others and not because of a person who called everyone else names? Honestly just confused how that can even be possible.

Am I the only one who's stoked about all of the new possibilities this revelation brings about?!?!

On this point: I stick around because the dismissive folks are in the minority and the vast majority of people who come here are actually interested in the conversations that are happening on the board. And in GIF parties when appropriate (i.e. not as a means of dismissing or being rude to other Bumpers).
I do not feel unwelcomed. Sorry if that disappoints anyone.
But lots of other posters are one and done: they come on here, get mocked (for repeat posting, not lurking moar, or asking what is perceived to be a dumb question), and leave to find another community. I dislike it.
There was a thread a few days ago where a woman asked a perfectly legit, unique question, and one of the thread police (who had not paid sufficient attention to wording of the OP's post or the contexts of the other, similar posts) popped in to say (super-helpfully! /sarcasm) that the question had already been asked and answered. Which other posters then had to jump in to mitigate so OP didn't feel like shit.
I recognize (now) that the best way to tell people not to be twatwaffles is not to call them twatwaffles, but it *is* pretty twatwaffley behavior.
Anyone else start singing "bad boys bad boys whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for youuuuu" everytime pp calls someone a "thread police"?
My Android phone is twatwaffley so I can't post 90% of what I want to but I love you ladies.....and the arguments lol. @dshannah sorry not sorry that I had to steal your word
@dshannah It's pretty hypocritical to stir up old drama and then call other people out for "twatwaffley behavior." It's like the pot calling the kettle twatwaffle.

Dude, I was saying that the board is boring sometimes. Not asking you to drag up drama from weeks ago that was actually pretty offensive. I also said I miss the Ramzi threads... Are you going to pull out an A/S too for us to decipher? Because that might actually be more enjoyable than being called a thread police.
