I am so incredibly sorry. I just want to offer some encouragement - you are at ground zero right now, rock bottom. Don't lose hope. I have worked with many children with special needs - including several babies that were told would have significant impairment because of pregnancy and infant trauma, but grew into very typical children with amazing gifts and talents. The first information and diagnosis is often the harshest, as the doctors haven't been able to gauge how the child will respond. I don't know you and I don't know Cindy, but I can tell that you both are incredibly incredibly strong. You will get through this. I have no doubts that no matter what, Cindy is going to wow the world with her gifts.

I was a criminal attorney before I came a stay at home mom and sadly i worked on a few cases similar to what yours is turning out to be. I've been thinking about you and Cindy ever since you first posted. I think about and pray for mom and baby multiple times a day. I broke down today reading your update and thinking about that small but mighty little girl you have there. Everything in me hopes that Cindy will recover from her injuries with the least amount of long term damage possible. And my hope for you is that you continue to be as strong for your daughter as you've been so far. I am amazed at your strenght. Your daughter is so lucky to have you.
