I'm 34 weeks and had a scan yesterday as I was measuring small. The ultrasound technician told me that bub doesn't seem to be getting a enough blood through the chord.. Has anyone else had this problem? What helped you to get the blood flowing again?
Did your doc offer any advice or are you waiting for a follow up?
Sorry no experience with this but I've heard some doctors recommend baby aspirin (don't try it without dr. approval) to slightly thin blood and improve flow. Hope you get some answers soon but this is why I find it frustrating when techs give information. They can't follow up with information about the condition and they leave parents in limbo.
Eta: also keep in mind that ultrasound measurements can be way off sometimes.
I have to see the doctor tomorrow. My midwife was measuring me and I came up at 27-28 cms so I had the scan and little man is the size of a 32 week fetus I've also read that they try bed rest but I don't see how that increases blood flow like don't you need to move to get the blood pumping?
They say to do bedrest so that you stay relaxed and you're not "stressing" or having your heart work harder to push blood around your body.. hence baby wont work as hard to push blood back to placenta. I had this issue a couple months ago, was on bedrest Thanksgiving weekend (24 weeks) with just restricted blood from baby to placenta. They gave me betamethasone shots then just in case. I was already on a baby aspirin regimen due to history of IUGR. Had multiple visits to dr office for NST and BPP scans after they discharged me. I made it to 26 weeks before blood flow was now backflowing to baby and I was readmitted for Mag to try to relax my body to better the flow. Lots of water and rest is what they said is best for baby. Praying for you!!
Have a urine and blood test because bp is a little high and I'm going to the maternity ward to have bubs heart rate monitored while they wait for the results if it's not looking good then I'll probably get admitted
Doc said they may induce me tomorrow depending on how everything looks in the morning. @hebamaryam they haven't told me to do anything but I'm in hospital on observation. If there are any concerns your doctor will tell you what to do x
I'm 33weeks and my baby wight is 6lap I'm scared please tall me what I have to do
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Your baby is 6lbs? Is your ob/midwife concerned? If they haven't mentioned anything then I'm not sure what type of advice you're looking for. Please don't ask internet strangers for medical advice. Leave those questions for your ob/midwife.
@chrisnlaura123 Good luck! Good thing they kept you in check. My baby comes up small as well, so I have scans every other week. Next one on friday. So, fingers crossed!
Thank you everyone!! Waiting for the doctor to come with the POA. (plan of action) My blood pressure keeps going up and down and bubs doing good but not much flow through the chord so I have no idea what will happen today. Had steroids for his lungs yesterday and will again today/ tonight. I kinda want him to come out in case it gets worse but I also want him to be fully cooked

So looks like I'll be getting induced tomorrow unless they dont like the look of things at the scan today but more than likely tomorrow. Bit nervous but it shouldn't be too bad. I'm going to get softened up induced then have my waters broken so should be over fairly quickly. Thanks for your thoughts lovely ladies
Just letting you all know that's it's not happening now they're being a bit bipolar with their answers. It's all getting a bit frustrating they're saying about doing it Monday unless things are crappy OT even staying in till term I'm getting a little stressed as I'm literally stuck in a room because they don't seem to K of when they're ever doing things Thanks everyone it's helping having people to talk to, I feel like an idiot crying about it to my partner Idk why haha
I know that feeling! Both times I got admitted, I felt like I had no clue how long Id be staying, or what they would/wouldnt let me do. Glad they're letting him stay in a little longer! The longer you keep him in, the less time he'd have to spend in the NICU. Thinking about you mama!
Not knowing is the worst part but the best part is that your little one is still cooking inside you. Every day inside is a healthier baby and less time in the NICU... so you can count yourself kinda lucky. I do understand how frustrating the waiting and not knowing can be. Hang in there Momma. Someone get you a tablet and Netflix to occupy your time while you're hanging out on your left side
Another annoying thing is now we're rushing to get out of where we because we need room for bub . He should be coming out Monday or Tuesday but who knows .I have pre-eclampsia apparently being monitored every few hours and on blood pressure medication Thank you everyone for your support ❤
