My husband and I ended up driving and calling all over central VA trying to find a target that had the dresser we wanted- that just so happened to be on clearance- which is honestly why we wanted it. No luck- we ended up ordering one from amazon because it was cheaper that the one at Target when it was full price. We also learned that Target is not allowed to sell the furniture they display because they have to drill holes in the bottom to attack them to the display. Instead they have to destroy them/throw them away. That bothers me an insane amount.
here is a collection of what I have purchased for our nursery thus far. We have a lot of work to do prior to setting up, but I'm excited with my progress so far
Just need to empty out that laundry bin there so baby girl can sleep in it (will flip it over to use as a changing table in the day time).
Also, I think @NinnyJean meant to say she was doing a ballet theme, but she wrote baller, which inspired me to look up baller nurseries, and I found this for you all to enjoy:

Where did you get the curtains? They match my crib skirt and I must have!
For something completely frivolous, my husband is a pilot, so I clearly need to get this. I'm hoping I can sweet talk my dad who is also a pilot into getting it for his first grandbaby.
@yogahh pottery barn (baby) ! Where is your crib skirt from? I am planning to attempt a diy ombré Ruffled skirt, but if that fails I will need a backup plan!

@babyfmama I got those hearts at a store in Germany. I have a matching picture frame I will hang above, just need a tiny little baby blue bow tie to place on it I'm also looking at mobiles on Etsy! Wow they are not cheap! Have to see what I can do myself. But I couldn't resist to order this little elephant carseat canopy. I don't know what's up with elefants, but they are just too cute!

I created a mood board for our nursery. We have the crib, changing table, baskets, and wreath, but everything else is on our registry so I will have to wait a while to actually set it up.
Here is what I have picked for baby girls room. Do these go together? Her crib and dresser are espresso and the glider is a mix of super light tan/grey. I was thinking of doing the walls a neutral light tan so I can easily swap décor at a later time. Thoughts?
This is what we've decided on so far. We're doing lavender, aqua, and grey with dot and chevron patterns and owls.
The walls will probably be a lavender color and the furniture will be white (Jenny Lind crib, the dresser we're getting unfinished from Ikea and it will have accents of colors in the room). We're putting wood flooring in the room as the carpet is old and getting a aqua and white or grey and white chevron rug we saw at target.
And sorry in advance if the pictures are massive. I'm on mobile so I can't really tell...

That is EXACTLY what our "nursery" looks like right now. I have a ton of ideas Pinned but I just haven't had the time or motivation to start cleaning out the guest/crap room that will be the new baby's room.
Our maid started today and she filled the nursery with ironed clothes and stuff. I am a bit bleak cause it took me ages to clean it out in the first place. So I am back a step!
@Chappy_jr Glad I'm not the only one! This is basically my husband's closet (he would be so mad if he knew I put a picture of this online haha), so it's up to him to clear it out. I have zero plans or ideas, just want to get this room empty as people start giving us stuff - essentially our nursery theme will be "free stuff people give us." So I also need to figure out what paint colors go with that theme.

But on the other hand, I have clothes that are ironed and I did not have to do it myself, small price I guess.
Does anyone know how many sets of bedding is enough? My mom apparently wants to make mine (why I don't know) and I need to get the material.
It depends on how often you can do laundry. I changed sheets weekly at minimum, and had two back-up sheets in case of spit-up or blow-out for in between then. I also had a warmer set and a cooler set for summer/spring and fall/winter since the bedrooms in our house get a bit colder in the winter than the rest of the house. So, for me, 3 lighter cotton and 3 heavier (DS liked the minky/chenille sort of fabric) worked.

@kp90 I think that combo will look great! Seems very similar to how we decorated my DDs nursery a couple of years ago. I almost bought chevron curtains at the time, too!
The mint color will be our wall color.. And probably doing an accent wall of some sort behind the crib. Tonight we are painting coral stripes in the closet.

Now that's a theme I can get down with!
Yes, exactly the same. It is the room with the guest bed, hand-me-down furniture and my husbands clothes. So we have to figure out what to do with his clothes, which take up twice as much space as mine since he never purges (dozens of holely shirts from college, at least 10 coats, its crazy!).
Wouldn't be so bad if we were having a girl! Finally got DS and DD moved into their new rooms. Finalizing a paint color this weekend hopefully and getting started on baby boy's nursery
Working in building crib and stuff today but i had to show off what I just scored in tj maxx!! They had soooo much elephant stuff!
Edit to add- now that I see it in pic form, I notice a lot of the elephants are upside down. Not sure yet if it is bothering me. Does it bother anyone else? This wasn't expensive, but not cheaper either ($60) so don't want to keep it if it is glaringly "wrong"

I noticed that a lot of the elephants were upside down but I personally don't mind it. I feel like if they were ALL right side up it would look a little TOO perfect all straight in a line and such. Cute find!
Re: Nursery - Fortnightly Updates?
Central VA? Whereabouts? I'm located in Richmond

LOVE your ribbon mobile. Did you buy it or make it?
