Day 14: I'm thankful to have survived a terrible marriage before meeting DH. I wouldn't wish the experience on anyone, but it taught me about myself and my own strength. I would not be the same person I am today without that struggle.
Day 16: I'm thankful that my family is safe. I know there are so many people in our world today that cannot say that, or are constantly living in fear for their family's safety. I'm thankful I know, for the most part, that we are safe.
I'm grateful for my sister. I lost a younger brother when he was a teen, and it makes it really easy to appreciate what a huge blessing siblings are (or can be, at least); nobody else knows exactly what brand of crazy you grew up with, but your siblings do.
I'm grateful for my in-laws, every one of whom is warm and welcoming and wonderful. I hit the jackpot with my husband's whole family (and he'll tell you the same about mine). We are so, so lucky!
I'm grateful to live in the time and place and body that I do. As tough as life can be, I've got a lot of unearned privilege by accident of birth, and it's made life immeasurably easier than it could have been. I hope to leave the world just a little bit better off for the people who don't have my advantages than I found it, and to raise a child who wants to do the same.
And finally, I'm grateful for the smell of coffee and of fresh-baked bread. So much smells so bad now that I'm pregnant, but those have never smelled better!

Oooh I really wanna bake some bread now!! That sounds sooooo good!
@BrittnyS10 - I've been doing the Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day base recipe every other day or so for a while now. Sooooooo easy, it turns out great, and I can get the smell with zero effort any time I want it!

Oh yum! I've seen that recipe but havent tried it before. I just might have to now!
Day 17: I'm thankful to find out we're having a healthy baby boy! And I got the see the look on my fiancé's face when we found out. He had the biggest smile, and tears in his eyes.
Day 18: I'm thankful I get to hear baby's heartbeat today. Even though my concerns are less and less after a great anatomy scan and daily movement, I still love hearing her heartbeat.
The last one had me in tears! I really should be working... so I guess I'm double thankful that my job allows me to secretly do things like this... Shhhh
Day 18: Thankful at 17 weeks I still fit in my regular clothes but I think today is the last day I can wear my work pants. They are significantly more uncomfortable today and I am over it.
Day 18: I'm thankful for another good u/s, albeit a very quick one. It's always fun to see how much LO has grown and how much more active he or she is.
Day 17: Thankful for medical science. Even if it can't get rid of my cold instantaneously.
Day 18: I'm thankful to live in Chicago. I have everything I could want or need within spitting distance, my neighbors are (mostly) wonderful, and the transportation options are endless. Employment and housing options are plentiful, and I'm surrounded by culture. It's also a tourist hub, which means I get plenty of visitors. The lake is beautiful, the people are ridiculously friendly, and we've got way better sports teams than you do. Oh, and have I mentioned the food? Chicago was never somewhere I wanted to live (too cold, and too Midwestern), but now that I'm here I can't imagine being anywhere else. I love it here!
@AGK2015 if I ever move back to the Midwest, it'll probably be to somewhere near Chicago simply for the culture. The thing that stinks is the Cubs
I ever so briefly became a Cubs "fan" during their playoff run this year (gotta root for the perpetual underdogs!) but I truly could not care less about them the majority of the time. I never took a side I the Cubs/Cards rivalry that consumed my hometown, and I have no preference in the Cubs/Sox debate now that I'm in the city. Which is to say, if you move to the Chicago area, we can still be friends and I will still take you to get the best deep dish

Ohmygoodness Chicago pizza. I forgot about Chicago pizza! What's the name of the place downtown with writing all over the walls and pizza worth waiting hours for? A friend from training recently got engaged and I can't wait for an excuse to take a mini-vacay back to the Windy City! I wonder how goofy our reflections would look in the bean?!?
Gino's East! Not a bad option, but if you want the REAL good stuff, we've gotta get you to Pequod's. It's a little off the beaten path, but they've got this unbelievable sauce, and they put just a little bit of cheese on the outside of the crust to caramelize it... Oh god, now I want deep dish so bad!
Day 18: I'm thankful to be sitting in our new home, with my bed set up, and my kitchen unpacked. I need to go through and burn some sage tomorrow, but this already feels like home to me!
Day 18: I'm thankful that the German Chocolate Cake Cookie recipe that I found made more (WAY more) than a dozen cookies... because they are so wonderfully delicious I want more!
Day 19: Thankful for technology, and specifically for the internet! How cool is it that we've got the whole world at our fingertips?! I can find out just about anything I want to know instantly, which is just incredible when you think about it. Plus, it's how I met my husband and how I keep in touch with old friends and family who live far away. I'm just old enough to remember life before most people had an internet connection in their homes (and certainly before social media!), and I hope I always remember not to take it for granted.
Day 19: thankful to have an awesome working relationship with my supervisor, who may actually be more excited about this pregnancy than I am. And she's the first to guess girl, partly because she knows how badly DH wants a girl.
Day 20: thankful I'm not in the snowstorm back home. I love going home for about a week at Christmas, shivering a few times, looking at the snow, and then coming home to a state where I can count the number of times I've had to defrost my car windows on one hand.
Re: Thanksgiving Fun
Day 14: I'm thankful that my mom invited us over for lunch today, homemade lasagna! Yum! I could probably have eaten the whole thing by myself lol
Day 16: I'm thankful for the leftover cherry cheesecake dip I have in my lunchbox (insert heart eye emoticon here).

Day 21: I'm thankful to be somewhat unpacked and settled into our home.
