November TWW

Hi all! I'm fairly new to the board. However, as I am sitting in my RE's office waiting on my DH to do his part for our 3rd IUI this morning - thought I'd see if anyone else will be going through their TWW in November? (Or the majority of it in November). And what will you be doing to pass the time?

I will be having my 3rd IUI also in November. My baseline is scheduled for Friday so hopefully I'll be starting the Clomid Friday as well. Hoping this one works as my doctor will only do 3.

@Krista537 I don't know your history but if your RE only does 3 IUIs - have you been on clomid the previous 2?
Will you move on to IVF from the 3rd if no BFP or look for a new RE?

I'm 38 so I'll attempt one more IUI this go round if this morning does not result in a BFP before moving on.

@GeauxTigers77 FX for today's IUI and during your TWW! Hopefully i will be joining in with you this go around. Going in tomorrow for CD14 u/s and may trigger if follies have grown, or might end up doing another 5 days of 100mg clomid if nothing's changed. Either way tww is fastly approaching :-) I'll be heading to AC this weekend for a Halloween bash (dressing up as a Jarhead)... should keep me pretty distracted because i love dressing up and seeing everyone elses costumes.

Do any of you have Halloween plans? Dressing up?

I love dressing up too! As a matter of fact I'm a master tailor (sounds masculine lol) or seamstress. My specialization is in costuming - renaissance fair wear, corsets etc. I love dressing up too but then I live in Louisiana and we have a parade for every holiday so I can get my dress up on multiple times a year! Lol

We are expecting bad weather again so they have moved trick or treating to Friday night do my plans are to dress up and give out candy!

@GeauxTigers77 that's so cool! I don't even know how to do a basic stitch by hand let alone operate a sewing machine and create such great costumes lol. My creativity is more in photography and event planning, even paper crafts. Do you have any suggestions on were to find (preferabbly online) great authentuc costumes that aren't thousands of dollars? Party City and stores alike just dont have anything fairly decent anymore so i just try to get creative and make costumes out of products that i can find at Walmart and discount stores (did a lot of shopping on amazon thus year for the props). What will you be this year?

@GeauxTigers77 yes this is my 3rd cycle on clomid. My dr will only do 3 but, I can not afford IVF so I'm not sure what I'll do. I can't bare to think about it.
@agriffin92013 my dr. Is pretty strict on it too

I've been trying to research how to increase number of follicles? Does anyone have any advice? I only seem to get one per cycle

@agriffin92013 I've never been told that chances go down significantly after 3. Did he say why? Like maybe type of meds etc?

@Krista537 You said only one follicle. Your RE hasn't consider other meds perhaps injectibles? Maybe yield more than one egg per cycle.

This cycle I had 3 mature follicles at the time of trigger. I've been on 113u of Menopur. Last month I started at 75u and had to increase to 113u on CD7 to get one follicle. If I had just one follicle again this month is likely have felt defeated from the get go just because the struggle itself is enough. And with three this morning and IUI I'm still feeling a little defeated from last month.

@agriffin92013 and @GeauxTigers77 my RE also said chances of pregnancy decrease after three IUIs. We only did two and just started stimming for IVF. My egg retrieval will be sometime next week.

After my bfn last week I called my dr. Hysterically crying and asked what could be done different this cycle. She said she won't change anything because I did produce 2 follicles this cycle one just happened to be on side with no tube. She says I respond to clomid so want to try again.
Is just so frustrating. I did look into acupuncture, I have first appointment tomorrow. Hopefully this will help.

I will be on TWW in November. Letrozole and gonal-f this cycle. Going in for CD11 scan on Saturday and we will see from there. This is DH and my first IUI. Defi Italy very excited but a little worried about timing as DH has and upcoming business trip

@GeauxTigers77 I figured you were a Louisiana girl from your screenname. I'm from Louisiana too. Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what is your fertility clinic? Mine is fertility institute of new orleans. I'm seeing Dr Lu, though I don't actually get to actually see him much...

I'm in the October TWW (official test day 10/31, but I'm taking FRER 10/30), but will be following and rooting all of you on! Hope you get record breaking BFPs!!

I had my second IUI on 10/26 and have a beta scheduled for November 9 which is the day before my birthday! Luckily, prepping for Halloween and my murder mystery birthday party on the 7th will keep me busy and distracted.

@riveridgional Okay so is your screen name relative to where you live?  ie River Ridge/Kenner?  I'm in Walker, right outside Baton Rouge.  I've seen Dr. Bobby Webster since 2001.  Love him.  He's part of the Fertility Answers Network of Physicians.  It used to be called The Women's Center for Fertility when they were in the old Women's Hospital Physician's office building when I first began seeing him.  But he also only had the one location back then.  They are at the new Women's Hospital location in BR now.  They have a location in nearly every major city in La now.  Lafayette, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, New Orleans - you name it.  My first IUI with Dr. Webster resulted in BFP and DD b. 03/2002 - that was Metformin, Lupron, Repronex, Follistim.  Followed successfully by DD b. 11/03.  Then a period of NTNP for years and years which resulted in multiple MC's.  And as the years have gone by we decided it was time to go back because the losses are becoming too much to cope with at this point without help.  I would not have gone anywhere else but to him.

Update us on your FRER tomorrow!  (*Chanting* BFP! BFP! BFP!)

@ErikaMG Your beta is scheduled 2 days before mine! My 3rd IUI was 10/28 (Yesterday). Fx crossed for both of us.  Murder Mystery birthday party sound like a lot of fun!  Is it themed?  Are you guys dressing up?

@GeauxTigers77 - The party is pirate-themed! Last year we did a fairy tale theme, and it was hilarious. We had all the Disney fairy tale characters... so much fun! The plan is to do a different themed murder mystery every year. I just love celebrating my birthday that way!

@GeauxTigers77 she didn't up my meds. She was worried a higher dose of clomid would effect my lining.
Im starting acupuncture today praying this does something.

@GeauxTigers77 Great to know of other options in case I feel the need to switch in the future. I didn't do too much research on facilities. I chose mine because I had 2 friends use them with success, so I figured that had to be a good sign! And, yes, my screen name comes from growing up in River Ridge. I loved my childhood there, but now I live in Orleans Parish (my DH won that battle). Thanks for the BFP chant! Things are a little different this TWW, but I'm trying not to read into it too much. Though, as you all know, that is very difficult! I'm rooting you on. It sounds like you've been through a lot! Hoping you get your baby from this cycle!!

We also did our first IUI yesterday. I had 2-3 good follies, and DH's numbers were good. 64 million, 81% motility, and 25% morph. Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Oh my goodness...it's soooo slow at work.  I work for a casket company so I suppose slow is good in a sense.  However. I have already read every thread this morning.Twice... posted, went to my RE's website, googled some things.  Certainly not things I need to be googling like how long does it take a sperm to reach an egg. 

Now I'm forced to come up with some equation in my head about IUIs placement of sperm cutting down the travel distance (x) multiplied by the time space continuum and the fact that Darth Vader is Luke's father. 

To which the only logically answer is it is clearly TWW madness!!!

Why couldn't I have just paid my cell bill online and checked my email like normal people? Perhaps played Sims on my phone or checked out the FB news feed LOL.

Me!  I'm a photographer and I'm still in my "busy season" so that's what I'm doing. Just trying to bury myself in work to pass the time as quickly as it'll go!

I did cycle monitoring with femara this month. On Friday I was told I had definitely ovulated - likely a few days ago. 5dpo today and going for a beta on Friday!

If this cycle doesn't work we're doubling the femara dose and doing IUI next cycle.

This seems weird to me but my clinic makes everyone on meds come for a beta 2 weeks after ovulation is confirmed - even if bleeding has started. Money grab or does this seem like standard practice?

Those are really good numbers! I remember hearing that my doctor likes 5-10 million.

@laurenlalap it seems like a lot of clinics do this- thankfully ours doesn't, it's an HPT and then if positive schedule beta. Perhaps they want to make sure there isn't an ectopic or something else happening?

I'm 4 days past iui. Might start putting together a puzzle to help pass the time.

@tbyers07 I go in Wednesday morning at 7:15 for progesterone test.  How many mature follicles did you have when you triggered?  If you feel like sharing I'd love to know what your progesterone level comes back as today.  Incidentally, yesterday I went to the mall after church and ran into one of our nurses coming out as we were going in.

So I caved and took a test on Saturday and every day since....lol. I bought the 50 pack of tests from Amazon, so I have plenty to go around. Positive of course because of the ovadril on 10/27. The second line is gradually getting lighter. I'll probably take one every day until AF comes, or I'm actually KU. Testing everyday keeps me sane, and the wondering and hoping at bay.

I had two mature follicles when we triggered. Hoping this is a good sign!

I may crack Friday and test at home. We're going to Cocktails in the Garden that night and I would not complain about having to be the DD. It'll probably be to early to test but I gotta know lol!
