Those of you who will have 2 under 2

How are you feeling this time around? This is my second. My first was born in January. I remember how tired I was last time. The first trimester was the hardest as far as the fatigue goes. This time around not only am I dealing with the first trimester fatigue but also breast-feeding and nine-month-old!I find that I am hungry all the time! And thirsty!

Thank goodness the MS hasn't hit yet. Last time it was until about week 13-14 and it was ALL day

Re: Those of you who will have 2 under 2

  • I will have 2 almost under 2, DD had a June birthday. I'm a little anxious about how DD will react and handling DD while on maternity leave with a newborn. Hoping it all goes well!

The way I see it, you're eating for 3, so drink up and eat what you want! :-)

  • Mine are 2 almost under 2 as well.(but really it's 3u4). My DD will be 2 in May. She's a high maintenance handful so I'm really afraid for the MS and fatigue to take over. My son is really mature for his age so I'm hoping he'll be able to help me somewhat when baby's born.

  • I'm going to have 2 under 3... does that count? So far I'm feeling okay -- Life has become one big land of "I'm tired" so the first trimester doesn't feel too different for me yet.  ((Though it does give me an excuse to get to bed early)) That's great that you're able to breastfeed while pregnant.  Keep up the good work.

  • I will have two under two for a couple of weeks! I'm still nursing my 15 month old once or twice a day and I hope to continue this for the next couple of months! I'm worried I'm going to dry up too quickly though

  • I'll have 2 under 2 also.   I'm exhausted already... but it's mostly due to the fact that my 11m old still isn't consistently sleeping through night.  I'm really stressing because I just keep thinking "what if he still isn't when I have baby #2? what am I going to do then"?  I'll seriously have NO sleep what so ever.   DH has a somewhat dangerous job so it's imperative that he gets sleep (he does weekends now).  I don't want to CIO but I really don't know what else to do :(. I have read and researched all kinds of "No Cry Sleep Solutions" books and blogs and it's not working.     He was up for 3 hours last night :(

I have a December baby she is 10 month old so mine will be 18 months apart. I feel fine so far. I hated working at the end of my last pregnancy so very thankful to be a SAHM this go around! I can always nap when she does :) I'm no longer nursing but I'm constantly thirsty as well.
  • I will have 2u2 for 3 weeks! My son's 2nd birthday is at the end of July. I am feeling good now! But with DS, MS hit around 6 weeks so I am just awaiting that awful feeling.

I am dreading morning sickness with DD!! She is growling everywhere and trying it walk!! Also her naps are not regular :(

  • My first was also born in January! I am so exhausted. First time around I could sleep all day, but that's not the case this time. I think the hardest part this time is I can no longer consume a questionable amount of caffeine to get me through the day. I have literally been tired since I conceived my DS. I figured by now I'd be on a normal sleep schedule (night owl) but I'm still up in the morning and then all night.
  • Mine will be exactly 2 years apart. I think it will be a struggle at first. Hopefully I can find a routine that works for us and doesn't involve me waking up at 4 am to get us out of the house every morning!
  • My other kids are spaced apart just over 2yrs. This kiddo and #3 will be 18 months apart.

I am dragging. I have to get up and get everyone ready to take my oldest to school and I have almost been late the past few days.

Yes the caffine!! I was lucky that DD was not affected by caffine intake :) Imiss it so much!

  • Mine will be 2 1/2 years apart but I'm freaking out. My oldest and my toddler are 4 years apart. That was a nice gap for me. I'm stressing how close these babies will be. My toddler still sleeps in my bed and is very much a "baby" still. Hopefully she will be potty trained by the time baby comes. I don't know how y'all do it! Y'all are super moms! :)
  • Hello! My son was born august 2014 so he will be turning 2 shortly after this LO is born. I'm already feeling more tired LOL chasing DS around plus first tri fatigue kicking in, but I figure it's all worth it! Plus DH and I want a big family so I might as well get used to feeling tired haha
  • We will have our second around the same time DD turns 2. We wanted them close together even though I know it will be busy!

Dude. H just lowered the crib all the way down for DS. I'm a shorty and already have a hard time laying him down. How the heck am I going to do it with a huge belly?!!! I did not think this 2u2 thing very well lol!

  • DS turns two a month before my due date. I think this pregnancy will go by so much faster because I have him. I am worried about being so tired first trimester but I feel pretty good about being able to nap when he naps :)

  • @bekkh84 I have a 21 week old and am 5 weeks so I feel ya girl! I had a high risk pregnancy with ds and was induced 3.5 weeks early so if I have any of the same problems I'll have a 12 month old and a newborn! I'm sure it will be rough for a while but I'll very happy they will be close in age and it will be nice to get all the baby stuff outta the way!
  • We'll have 2u2 for a couple months. DD turns 3 in September.

@Singingmama10 My DD is almost 14m and still doesn't sttn. She screams her face off when she gets anywhere close to the crib. I'm so nervous about her not sleeping still when LO arrives.

  • Mine are 13 months adjusted (oldest was a 28 week preemie) or 16 months actually apart! This last 9 months has been amazing seeing both of them grow and seeing the love they have for each other!! Because they are 13 months adjusted, Lydia walked in September 2014, Myles walked in October 2015, and that 1 calender month later was true for most everything, which was very cool to see!!! This one is due 2 1/2 months before oldest's 3rd birthday, so we will have 3 under 3!!! Should be a trip!!!
  • Does 2 under 3 count? DD will be 2 years and 7 months by the time this little one arrives. I'm very nervous about how I'm going to deal with the pregnancy and also taking care of DD. She was an awesome sleeper until about 5 months ago - since then she's been getting up way too early. Today was 4:45am. I need caffeine.

  • I'll have 3 under 4, my older two were 2 under 2 for 8 months..  So this time around (if baby comes on time and not early like my 2nd), I'll have a 3.5 year old, a 2.5 year old, and a newborn.  Man, what did I get myself into?!

  • I'll have 2 under 2 for 4 months. DD just turned one last weekend.

My symptoms are worse this time around. More fatigued, more nasusated, and this time, I get...dizzy!? In the morning when I stand up, the room spins and it doesn't stop unless I lie down. Anyone else experiencing this? At this point, I'd rather be sick than dizzy.

  • Feeling good. Curious about how breastfeeding is going for you. I'm nursing my 12 month old and I've noticed a decrease in supply as well as some nipple pain.

@amare15 My baby girl also just turned one!!!!! Is yours an October babe as well?
  • @ThePax89 My DD is a s14 baby, so far my milk production is the same but the nipple pain is awful.

  • Fun @dinodna3 !

So far I have some nipple pain because she is frustrated and gymnastics nursing.
Are you planning on weaning or tandem nursing?
  • If I can produce milk my whole pregnancy, I will tandem. I'm paranoid about drying up because DD hates wcm and I have zero freezer stash.

  • 2 under 1! I have a 15 week old and just found out I'm due late July!
  • 2 under 1! I have a 15 week old and just found out I'm due late July!

My daughter will be 1 on June 29th . With this one I'm due July 26 ;)
  • I have a nine month old DD, and we are 8 wks along now. My milk took a drastic hit right away! That was actually a lot of the reason I took a pregnancy test. I was pumping 4 or 5 ounces at a time, now I am stoked if I get 1 oz. the good news is that it frustrates me much more than it does her. I have a feeling she will be weaning herself soon. And I'm beginning to be ok with that. Like PP said - soooo hard to get enough water in these days! Otherwise, I'm feeling great!
  • I'll have 2u2 for 5 months. My first pregnancy was fairly easy no major symptoms except sciatica. With this pregnancy I had major MS for about a week but otherwise I sometimes forget I'm even pregnant!

I'm nervous for the first 6 months I know it'll be very hard so I'm trying to prepare myself mentally.

  • I will have 2u2 come July. DS is turning 1 tomorrow! They will be about 19 months apart. #1 is still breastfeeding but I think its actually helping my MS (I read somewhere that this is possible!). While I have the constant nausea, I have only actually gotten sick 2 times! Last pregnancy I threw up every day... so maybe that's an incentive to keep breastfeeding!

    I'm tired.
I doubt my ability to do this every day.
I miss all the napping I did when I was pregnant with #1.
I'm in love with #1 and wonder how my heart will grow to love #2 just as much.
I'm worried that I'm shorting #1 on time with me as an only child.
    I'm clearly completely rational.... ;)

  • My first two were almost exactly 2 yrs apart and it was tough but I was younger. Now I'm 37, my youngest will be 5 when baby comes (they have the same due date 5 yrs apart), and I'm loooovingg the bigger gap. My older two can do so much independently. It's awesome. And come August they will both be in school all day so it will be Iike having one again, except I will need to get the big boys ready, fed, lunches, homework, dropped off lol.
