Low AMH Level

Re: Low AMH Level

  • OH BTW my day 2 fsh was 5.67 with estrogen priming.  Also, we are paying OOP for our cycle.
  • @adc0417 I don't know much about this whole process yet, but I've been through a lot medically over the last year and a half. Unfortunately, sometimes you do have to advocate for yourself and push the doctor to do what you think is necessary.

@JamieH2000 Thank you! We have our initial consultation tomorrow morning, so we shall see what happens with that and go from there.

  • @adc0417- My first IVF was 2 weeks of BC and then between 300-375 of follistim with ganirelax. We converted to IUI after 6 nights since I had two mature follicles and the rest were far behind. Second IVF, we threw everything at it. We did estrogen priming during my luteal phase with patches and ganirelax (known as the Schoyer protocol). We then did mirco dose lurpon with HGH and higher stims.. I think maybe like 400-450? That cycle I had sooo many shots and just felt like my body did not like the MDL at all. The third IVF we did estrogen priming again and then did 450 follistim/150 of menopur and added in ganirelax when we needed it For me, I think starting off with high stims right away was what I needed to make more follicles grow from the beginning .

  • @JamieH2000 thanks for sharing info about your cycles.  For my first IVF, after a week of estrogen priming I was put on 300 gonal f/150 menopur plus cetrotide when I needed.  It was cx on day 11 since my estrogen didn’t rise.  I have low AMH and high FSH.  I’m so tired of this process, been battling with this for a year and half, going from clinic to clinic, shedding tears and questioning “why me?”.  I’m so ready to start a family and I feel if this cycle doesn’t go anywhere, I should just go for the DE option.
  •
  • @adc0417- I am so sorry you are in this situation. Its really so hard. For me, the DE decision was a hard one, and sometimes I still wonder if the next IVF would have been "it", since I did eventually find a protocol that I responded too, but I had cysts for months after it and I just started feeling like my body was telling me to move on.  I also thought that life is short, and each day I keep going through IF treatment was one day of my life gone (miserably) and also one less day with a future child. I moved on to DE since I was just ready to be a mom and knew I wanted at least two kids (which DE can hopefully provide- at least alot more likely than my eggs). There is lots to consider, and if you are thinking about that path, feel free to lurk or join us on the DE thread. There are also some great FB groups too. What made me feel better about it was that every woman I have met/talked with/online/etc said they couldn't love their child more if they were genetic. It is a loss you have to mourn, but I am hopeful one day I will look back and be thankful for this journey once I have the children that are meant for me. Hang in there and feel free to message me if you want to talk!

  • Well put @JamieH2000.  That’s exactly how I feel too.  I’m so ready to be a mom and want 2 kids, so want to get the party started soon specially with my age.  Btw, if you don’t mind me asking how old are you?  It definitely is and was very hard to accept it, which is why I just want to exhaust my own resources first.  I think knowing the outcome of my own eggs will make it mentally easier for me to move on, and that’s the reason I’m pressing to go on with this cycle.
How long did the entire DE process take?
  •
  • @adc0417- I just turned 30 a few months ago, so very young in the DE world. We started trying when I was 27, so never should have quality been my issue. Its hard to always wonder "why" this happened, given my age, but I know I will never get an answer. I also feel, given my age, if I am meant to have a genetic child, it will happen in the next 10 years, given that we will never use protection again haha.  I totally get wanting to get to at least 1 ER to see how it goes with your eggs. Makes total sense! Maybe one more try with a different protocol? Micro dose lupron didn't work for me, but some ladies find that it doesn't the trick since it can "trick" your estrogen to rise in the beginning of the cycle.. may be worth considering. For donor, it depends on fresh vs frozen. If you are doing fresh, it would depend on in house or if you use an agency. I used in house donor. My journey is not normal, but my clinic says its usually 1-3 months to transfer once you retain the donor. You may have to wait for the donor to be available if she is in another cycle or if her calendar has things (like travelling, etc).

@adc0417 of course you need to move on with your cycle I think your doctor has been very  conservative with your meds and it's probably part of the reason why things are moving slower I think with higher dosage you'll see a better response....certainly hope so!!
You're certainly in a tough situation and jamie is the best to share her DE experience and thoughts!! You definitely want to see where you are at.  One cycle I responded so poorly is was converted to an IUI.  You can also still keep going through IVF and start exploring The donor process as we all wanted to be moms yesterday!!

Yes, I totally want to continue with this cycle and see what happens.  I thought 300 menopur is pretty high.  Did you do higher?

@JamieH2000 omg you’re so young for DE world, but I understand where you’re coming from.  Being a mother is innate in us females.  As for the micro lupron dose protocol, are they using estrogen priming to raise your estrogen in the beginning of the cycle?

  • @hopeful_mom- I really hope it turns out to be nothing! Did you see the doctor yesterday?

@adc0417- I used estrogen priming to prevent a lead follicle. If you have never had that issue, you may just be better with a natural start. I forget exactly how the microdose lupron works, but I remember that my RE said she didn't see a quick uptick in my estrogen in the first few days of taking it, like some women do.  I think 300 of menopur is pretty high, but most REs don't just do menopur (rather a mix of straight FSH- follistm, etc- and menopur) since menopur has LH in it and you don't want too much of that as far as I know. When do you go back in?

  • @JamieH2000 I too am starting to think that maybe I don’t need estrogen priming, but then I would have high fsh on day 2 which is what they want to avoid.  Ugh so complicated.  I go back in tomorrow, so let’s see.
  •

  • Dermatologist says it's shingles , he sent the test out but he said even if the test is negative he still says it's shingles.  They're not blisters yet so there wasn't much puss to get.  It's very early stages and a mild case hopefully.  Just nervous for the next steps.
Dr gave me antibiotics and he and OB say it's ok to take it as it's on the list B for meds that are ok but of course I'm worried.
Called the high risk dr to discuss next with her.  I'm so angry that this has happened!! Just praying this won't hurt the baby!!

@emmasemm I think my vag is jealous she's losing some of her glory  :D she's not perfect but so much better then it was so I can't complain!!! However it's does worry me to have a natural childbirth.

@adc0417  I think I missed some of your activate 300 menupar is good.   Basically my doctor looked at the protocols in terms of numbers putting all of the medication together once I started at 450 and then went up to 600 which was 300 menipure 300 gonal f.  I needed the full amount to respond and always started that high on the rest of my cycles.

@JamieH2000 getting excited where r we at??? When's TDAY!!!

  • I'm sorry i've been absent ladies, I have new ladies to greet and everything!

    Hi
    @dreamscapes_ welcome!
I absolutely second everything Jamie said, just low AMH doesn't actually mean much so i'm hoping your journey is a short and very successful one!!!

@adc0417 ;are all the follies you mentioned responding but just slowly? I stimmed for 19 days once because i think my body is similar where it takes a long time before the estrogen rises and the follies to actually grow.   I hear ya on wanting to keep going and i'm crossing everything for you. Sticking out a long stim cycle can be challenging so be kind to yourself. i started to feel a little crazy around day 17.  you have totally got this girl!!!!  also i hear you, i am SO ready to be a mom and i want 2 kids so bad.  good grief if this could just be easier...

@hopeful_mom I can NOT believe the Shingles!!!!! this is so outrageous.  I mean, SERIOUSLY?  I hope the antibiotics work quickly and there are absolutely no further issues.  ugh, so frustrated for you lady.

@JamieH2000 are you going for 2?! that sounded like the verdict :)  LET'S GO BFP!!!!!!!!  When is the day!!!

AFM my cycle got canceled yesterday morning.  I'm sad but trying not to let it destroy me.  It seems that my body has just consistently done worse and worse.  the higher dose did something unexpected, we thought the follicles on the left would grow and were not hopeful for the right because we only saw one.  Well the one on the right plus a new one that popped up took off and grew quite well and all the 4 on the left didn't do anything.  Well actually one disappeared all together, but that seems to happen with me a lot.  So my RE wanted to cancel and i was fine because for me 2 follicles again, like last time make me think i will get 0 cuz  of my empty follicle situation that has repeatedly happened.    I was so hoping for a ER before the Holidays.   I'm feeling so bittersweet about all these "first" holidays with my adorable baby niece.  i just need to practice patience.

I'll try to be better at keeping up over here.  I've been checking in but just wasn't feeling up to updating yet.  I feel like my updates are always just disappointing. lol.

  • @hopeful_mom- nooo I was really hoping it was something else! Hopefully its a mild case and the meds will help it ASAP! Is there any research that shingles can hurt a baby during pregnancy? I would assume it doesn't but have never looked into it. Hopefully the doctors can reassure you about it! Hope you are feeling ALL better soon and then no more issues during this pregnancy! I go in on Friday for transfer, so just 48 hours or so :)

@hopefuljj- NOOO I wish there was a hate button for your update. I am so sorry you got cancelled again :( Maybe high stims weren't a good idea... Do they have a protocol idea for your next cycle? Have you tried DHEA? I think its wise to get testosterone levels checked before taking, but it does really improve some women's results it sounds like based on some groups I am in. I also undertsand how hard Christmas is, and it will be so bittersweet with your niece... and you don't need to practice patience, you have been SO patient and supportive of your sister and niece. If you need space or time, put yourself first because you are handling this better than anyone could expect. Any way you and DH can get away for a little together during the holiday break at the clinic? Maybe a little break will help your body get optimally ready for the next cycle!

@hopefuljj so sorry your cycle got cx again.  I know exactly how painful it can be.  You had mentioned that your estrogen too takes time to rise up...which protocol/steps made it rise quicker in the cycle?

AFM, I think my cycle will be cx as my lining is pretty thin still and now I have 3 small follies.  I’m losing hope by the minute.  Just so devastated

  • @Hopeful_mom Please take care of yourself! I'm sorry that happened, but hopefully it'll just be very mild and pass quickly and have no effect on the baby.

@hopefuljj Thanks for the welcome! We'll see what happens. My initial appointment was yesterday, which I'll update about in a minute. I'm sorry you had a cancellation :( I do understand the bittersweet feelings about the holidays, though. Not sure if I have to TW for this, but just in case, TW - My sister got pregnant literally the week after my wedding last year, without planning or trying or even wanting a second kid (her first was an oops, too). End TW. We'd been hoping to be celebrating Christmas with either our own baby or one on the way, so I absolutely understand that. I don't have anything constructive to say about your protocols, but I hope the holidays are a pleasant time for you regardless!

@JamieH2000 I'm so excited for you!

@adc0417 That's so awful :( I'm so sorry to hear that.

AFM, we had our initial consultation with the RE yesterday. They did a very thorough walk through of everything, including the financial side of it. We were there for nearly three hours. The doctor did an ultrasound and said that my uterus looks normal and healthy. He couldn't find my ovaries for some reason? He said there was "too much bowel" or something and wants me to repeat my CT scan from October to see if the 5cm cyst is still there. So I'm just waiting for the authorization from the insurance for that. I'd been having spotting for the last couple of days, but my period wasn't supposed to start until Sunday. Guess what I woke up to. Of course it was the day after the stupid appointment. Anyway, I called to schedule the CD3 testing, which will be tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping it wouldn't have to be until next Tuesday or Wednesday, since those are my next days off, but oh well. The HSG is scheduled for next Wednesday as well. DH has to do his SA, which (of course) isn't covered by insurance. We're trying to get as much done before the 31st as possible so that we can get it under this year's deductible, which has been met.

  • @hopeful_mom oh no oh no oh no... but just think in some months this will all become a great tale of all the crazy things you went through :-) when you can make it with your fire vag and the crazy sickness and now shingles, then I have to believe I can make it too.

@jamieh2000 omg Friday is so so close! I am keeping everything crossed for you!

@hopefuljj oh I’m so sorry. It’s so crushing when you have nothing to show for it. Please do give yourself time to grieve. I really hope your RE has a plan for you. When will you go back for your WTF appointment?

@adc0417 not you too! This has really not been our month any of us... I hope if you do get cancelled that your RE also has a good plan.

@dreamscapes_ sounds like you had a good and thorough first appointment! And whilst it might not be convenient it’s good that you get all the testing done ASAP so maybe you can get a follow up appointment in before Xmas to discuss the results. Keeping my Fx that all results come back good.

AFM final prep tomorrow for the WTF appointment on Friday. Starting to feel quite sick with nerves now. I don’t think he can refuse to let me do a third cycle, but he can refuse any more experimental protocols... and also not sure what further testing the insurance will pay for... so let’s see...

Big virtual group hug to you all

  • @emmasemm  you're cracking me up right now thank you as I am in such pain between the nausea and the shingles I can't even sleep!!  I do you keep saying I hope that this will be a great story to tell one day!!   Really hoping the rest of my pregnancy will be uneventful! Right now I have to figure out with my OB when he wants to see me since I shouldn't be around other pregnant women so now I have to wait to be the only one in the office to have my visit, I'm so VIP!  :D
good luck at your appointment I'll be looking forward to your update!

@hopefuljj  i'm with Jamie and would like a dislike button for your post!!! WTH already!!!  I'm frustrated with you girl! I get how trying all of this is but I know once you have the perfect cycle things will start falling into place for you!!

@JamieH2000   Tomorrow's the big day! I'm so excited and I'm sure you feel like you're dreaming because we dreamed about this day for so long already.  I'm so excited that it's finally here for you and we all can't wait for you to be PUPO! Hoping ur transfer is uneventful and everything goes super smooth for you, can't wait For Friday night!!  What are your plans for after transfer what are you watching? Are you doing the pineapple?

@adc0417 ugh I'm  sorry things are progressing the way that we had hoped this cycle.  I'd like to think slow and steady wins the race so I'm still going to have some hope!!

@dreamscapes_  wow I hope your RE doesn't  charge by the hour that's awesome!  I'm really glad you had such a thorough doctor to really explain everything to you and get the ball rolling. I think it's great that you're trying to get as much as you can in this year and that your doctors on board so just keep calling and continue the process.

AFM:   After talking to three different doctors I am feeling a bit better about taking the medication for the shingles and it really sounds like the baby shall be fine and I'm the one that's really just going to have to suffer through so it is what it is I'll get through this too as long as my little love bug is OK  that's all that matters to me!!

  • @dreamscapes_ - Glad they spent alot of time with you and were very thorough! I am hoping they can see everything they need on the CD3 ultrasound! Keep us posted, we are cheering for yoU!

@emmasemm- good luck with your appt tomorrow! They better not refuse to do a third cycle! I have always been told that people need to try at least 3 cycles (but including attempted/cancelled cycles) before considering other options, because sometimes it takes 3 times to figure out the protocol! It did for me... however once I got the right protocol I still had hardly any viable embryos and they didn't stick. So that was really my trigger to move on. Thinking of you and hoping you can come up with a good plan!

@hopeful_mom- Thank you! I am getting excited for tomorrow. my clinic does couch rest for a day, so I will take it easy. The new season of the Crown comes out on Netflix tomorrow, so I will watch some of that. Its sad that I was watching the crown during my last tww last winter haha. I have a friend coming tomorrow evening, so hopefully it will be a relaxing day!

  • @JamieH2000 so excited for you tmrw.  It’s finally happening!!!

@emmasemm can’t wait to hear what your RE has planned for you next.

So, I spoke to my RE and he is willing to try another protocol on me with lupron and go high stim dose right from day 2, but without estrogen priming as he thinks it might be suppressing me a bit much.  The catch is that my FSH on day 2 can’t be too high, which can be tricky for me.  But then he also mentioned that we should start thinking about DE as it can take months.  Decisions, decisions.....
If we start the DE, our clinic requires us to be fully committed to it.  We can’t be doing an IVF cycle on the side.

  • Wow that was an ideal outcome (twins boy and girl on 2nd IVF!). I am 33 and find out in August of my low AMH (0.64 then 0.71 a month later). We are being told to do IVF as well but even then they said our chances are less than 40%. I am here now trying to see how many eggs people with AMH comparable to mine have produced on IVF cycles.
  • @latinmuse welcome
I’m not sure if I understand what your first sentence is referring to? Also if you haven’t done it already please read the posts at the top of the Infertility board and after that make your introduction thread so all the members know a bit about you and your story in case you want to post on other threads too.
Do you also know your FSH and AFC? All three together give a fairly good indication of what sort of response you could expect - having said that the protocol used for IVF can make a big difference too.
When do you have your next appointment with your RE?

@hopeful_mom see now you get the story of VIP treatment at your OBs, just like a rockstar!!! You have to make this into a story book for your little bean!

@jamieh2000 I have my fingers and toes and everything crossed for you tomorrow! So excited for you!

@dreamscapes_ hope your CD3 Testing went smoothly

@adc0417 I’m so sorry you got cancelled - are you at least HIO in case you ovulate one of those follies? Good he is willing to go again. I don’t remember if you already got a second opinion? I think it might be worth to do that, especially if you have to wait for January for your next cycle.

@hopefuljj hope you are holding up ok

    AFM tomorrow is WTF day.
I have prepared a three page document of options to discuss. DH and I just went through everything. And I am so so so proud of him as he has obviously been listening to me even when I thought he was watching Netflix or working. He understood everything, thinks I have been very thorough and is totally on board with all options.
Now we just have to see how pissed my RE is at me having basically undertaken meta analysis of studies as well as my own anecdotal evidence collection and summarizing all options I am prepared to try... it will either go well or very badly!
After the appointment I’ll share it for future reference for everyone else!

  • Hey guys, do you mind if I join in here? I have been lurking a lot, but I would love to have people who have gone through similar problems.

My H and I are 30 have been trying for a year and a half. I don't have a low AMH (its actually 2.08), however my AFC is usually pretty low, I have moderately high FSH for my age (8.1) and I just had a cycle canceled due to a poor response. We did luteal estrogen priming and then a follistim (300) and menopur (75) mix, adding in ganirelix on stim day 6 and after 11 days of stims I only had 4 mature follicles. My doctor was super surprised as he assumed, especially with an EPP and antagonist protocol, that I would have tons of follicles. My doctor now has me unexplained/POI which he treats similarly to DOR/low AMH.

The canceled cycle was so upsetting and I am terrified my next cycle will end similarly. Next month we will me starting a MDL protocol, and while I know some people have a great response, I have also read of quite a few people responding even worse. I am just scared and sad as this is a place I didn't think I would be at given my age and bloodwork.

  • @emmasemm The only issue with the testing being today was that because of timing, I had to take the day off work. With where I work, it wasn't exactly an option for me to just step out for a bit, even on my lunch break. I really hope that your appt tomorrow goes well. Please just remember to breathe? I don't know if this would help for you, but it does for me. I have anxiety and when I start to feel overwhelmed and on the verge of a panic attack, if I drink water, it helps me to calm back down and settle. I don't get why, but it helps. Also, as far as I'm concerned, you have every right to be informed on what's happening to your body and the choices for treatment you have or could have. If it pisses him off that you did your own research, that's his problem. FX and virtual hugs for you! (Also, I totally didn't realize we were supposed to post an intro thread >.>)

@Hopeful_mom As far as I know, he doesn't! I might have a bill for the testing, but all I had to pay for was the copay. I have to call tomorrow to schedule the CT and then call the office back with the appointment date and time for the insurance auth and all that. I'm glad that you have some reassurance about the baby! Even with the illness, as long as your doctors think you're good, I'm sure you are! :)

@JamieH2000 Today was just the blood draw, thankfully. He wants me to have a CT to check on the ovaries, so that's gonna get scheduled in the morning (no one told me I had to set the appointment before they could authorize it). I'm so hopeful for your appointment tomorrow! Please update us when you can!

@adc0417 I'm sure whatever you guys decide will be the right decision. Out of curiosity, what's the rationale behind no IVF while starting DE? The latter isn't an option for us at all due to costs (and DH is not at all a fan of me carrying a child that's his and not mine for some reason), so I'm just curious.

@latinmuse I'm honestly not sure what to suggest for you based on what you've said, but hi!

@kiwi2628 I don't know what, if any, requirements there are to be on this thread, but hello! I'm so sorry that you had to cancel your cycle. We're still in the testing phase, so I don't have any advice for you, just virtual hugs and ice cream. I definitely understand the fear and sadness, though. My DH and I are both 33, so finding out that I potentially don't have the eggs left to procreate isn't a nice thing to hear. I hope that tomorrow is a good day for you!

@latinmuse Hi. I guess you can say I'm an IVF veteran here. *TW* I've successfully gone through the process and I've been sticking around for moral support. My AMH was 0.5 @ 28 years old and @ ER I got 6 eggs, only 2 fertilized. We implanted both & 1 stuck. It only takes one golden egg. Good luck on your journey!

  • @kp214 thanks :-)

@kiwi2628 of course you can join us here!!! I guess we are a lowAMH/poor response group by default. Also we’re not all older like me ;-)If you haven’t already, please read through some of the history on here as you will find ladies with success to keep you motivated in the darker days. As you mentioned, for us “special” ones MDL basically is either a wonder or a disaster. And not much chance to say which before you start, but I think your RE at least sound like he’s willing to try different options for you which is an important piece of the puzzle.
If you’re not already, I would suggest to add in some CoQ10 just as an extra chance to boost quality If quantity is going to be a challenge.

@dreamsapes_ thanks a lot. Actually I’m normally prettty ok in high stress situations - I kind of get in the zone.

  • Thanks for all the love and support ladies! I am feeling very excited and hopeful. I will let you know how it goes later!

@emmasemm- Good luck with your appt today. I am so interested in your REs thoughts. You are so scientific, your RE can't ignore your amazing research!

@kiwi2628- You can def join! My AMH is "only" 1.5, which was low for a 28 year old, so I joined the board a while ago. What is your AFC usually? AMH usually ties to AFC, but not always obviously. My other thought when I read your story is do you have any symptoms for endometriosis? I feel like sometimes it can be unknown and severe and can affect quantity and quality. I had a lap and we found only mild endo, so they didn't think it was the cuase of my DOR/quality issues. Another test is thyroid antibodies. Apparently they can attack the ovaries. Mine were elevated, but not too badly so. So I never really got answers. But just a few things to think about since we all want to know "why" we don't respond...

  • @JamieH Thanks! My AFC is actually really variable (which my RE also is confused about). It has been anywhere from 4 to 18 throughout my various cycles. My IVF cycle this month it was 9 after 10 days of estrogen priming (and I was still on estrogen at that point). The most they ever saw during that cycle was a total of 11 follicles (after 3 days of stimming), and that was when they are all too small to measure. I have never had any immune symptoms or anything- no heavy periods, no irregular periods (they are basically 25-27 days every. single. time), no abdominal pain, no cramps, no weight changes, no GI symptoms, no lethargy- nada. My doctor has tested thyroid (actually had it tested twice, first it was my PCP for my annual and then 6 months later my RE did it as part of his protocol) and I am dead center in normal range, and I had my ANA tested and that was negative/normal. Basically, my doctor has no idea why I responded so poorly as he expected me to have 15-20 and told me to be prepared to have mild OHSS. Its so annoying. I love and hate medicine.

  • Well, that was one hell of an appointment. We were in nearly two hours.
We talked through his suggestion first, then went through mine. He checked a few points with the director of the clinic and we decided on a strategy to take us through January.

Result: I have a hysteroscopy and saline sono on Monday, prescription ready for meds for cycle 3 with next CD3 (CD1 should be 27-31 Dec)

If no success with cycle 3 then we will move to another RE out of country who’s more experimental. Going to start looking already and arrange some first Skype consultations.

Also DH and I have made an agreement on number of cycles (12) after which he is allowed to veto and we use another path to create our family. I can veto at any time.

More details in spoiler in case you’re interested.
My question list is available by PM.

    The positives
    - he took the time to go through all the points in my research.
    - He said I’m the most thorough and educated patient he’s had in 20 years since he specialized.
    - He’s clearly not looking to just make money out of us. And he was clear where his lines are.
    - He has agreement from the clinical director that if we have more than one embie we can grow it to blast and freeze by using a loophole in the German fertility law. But banking repeatedly as a main purpose would not be possible - if we had one we would have to transfer (unless there was a medical reason I couldn’t).
    - He’s willing to up my stims but only to 300 FSH.
    - He also thinks doing an hysteroscopy and saline sono is a great idea to know if there’s something else causing issues (other than my crappy old ovaries) and if HIO, TI or IUI has a chance

    The negatives
    - the clinic group and the insurance will not allow certain drugs or protocols.
    - Nor will they go above 300 FSH per day.
    - Which basically means if the next round doesn’t work then we need to change clinics if we want to try something different.
    - He is not willing to do any form of priming before stims as he is worried that if we later complained this could be seen as “doing harm” and against his medical oath (eg if I never ovulated again).
    - The only time he will use Lupron is for trigger in OHSS patients.

    The not sure points
    - he doesn’t think me losing any weight will make any difference (my BMI hovers 28-32).
    - He doesn’t believe in BPA causing any issues.
    - He’s ok for me to take DHEA but only if I wait 8 weeks until stimming from starting it so I will wait until January

  • @jamieh2000 hope you are relaxing on the sofa at home by now PUPO!

@kiwi2628 have they done any genetic tests for eg FSH receptor problems? Also do your different AFCs correspond with different FSH levels on day 3?
There was one article I read about ladies with variable FSH and AFC and they suggested already checking them in-primed every cycle and only stimming on cycles where the AFC was above a minimum and the FSH was below a maximum. I think there was an average of 4 cycles skipped in between each round, but this doubled the blasts. The study was small so only anecdotal. But maybe worth discussing.

  • @kiwi2628- you are a bit of a medical mystery! Hopefully it was just a fluke of a cycle. For me, my afc has been between 8-13 at baseline, but I didn’t get most of them to grow until I did max stims (450 follistim, 150 menopur) from the beginning. Hopefully they push you hard this next cycle!!

@emmasemm- I just loveeee your detailed updates!! I am so glad he is willing to do pretty much everything that the country and office allows. That is crazy how many limits there are, especially with the amount of stims! I also think it’s reallt smart to have the hysterscopy and saline since it seems like at least half of us who have more than 1 round end up with polyps. Once you get that golden embryo, you need a clean uterus! Glad it’s only a few weeks until you can get cycling again!!

AFM- officially PUPO and hopefully this time PASP! We transferred two grade 1AA and one was even hatching. I was trying not o have expectations on that since I now frozen embryos may not be quite as hatching bc of the freezing, so I’m feeling pretty hopeful that one of them will stick at least! Transfer was smooth, but RE did say the crinone was irritating my cervix/vag (@hopeful_mom), but I haven’t noticed that yet. So if it gets worse I will likely have to switch to Pio. Also they did check my progesterone and if it’s not high enough we will add Pio too. Now I’m on couch rest and looking good forward to season two of The Crown!

  • Girls  please forgive me for not writing back to everyone individually I'm just having a very bad nausea day so it's hard to keep up for me!

@JamieH2000  you know I am over the moon for you and so excited we will be bump buddies I just know it. Finally PASP! I can hardly believe it. And let's discuss your vag for a second it's interesting that the doctor is noticing irritation befor you. I don't know if that's your threshold of pain is so high or what. Are you taking the crinone 2x a day? Please don't wait for it to get worse because I still after three months I'm not hundred percent back to normal and even though there's no cannot left in me there still something that's just not right and I would hate for that to happen. I also want to suggest with this PIO shortage you really should look into getting some now I know that freedom pharmacy still has.

@emmasemm I adore u and u crack me up!  My mom agrees with you and calls me her rock stars well ;) you're the rockstar with all of these amazing updates I actually wish you were on this board when I was first starting so I could've  had even more knowledge on my side.   I echo what Jamie already wrote my one thing that I find frustrating for you is how different the legal part is in all of this we shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops.  Also love the veto plan you guys have in place!!!

@dreamscapes_   Going through this process is very hard and everyone has different opinions on how they wanna get to having their family. I first cried the one time my RE mentioned using DE after a bad stemming cycle but that was also because I hadn't gone through an ER yet so that was part of it, as I wanted to give my own eggs a shot first. You just have to go  through the process and you'll see where it takes you and how your mind changes because it does come to that point where u just want to be a mom no matter how you get there, for some anyway.

@adc0417 I'm a little disappointed with your update or more frustrated with your clinic and saying you have to just be all about the DE as opposed to doing an IVF cycle and prepping for DE at the same time for some people the DE process takes months and months so I don't understand why he should have such an issue I'm very aggravated for you because that would annoy the hell out of me
