@rachlee2010 I not going to lie PIO shots are really no fun at all. Thankfully I didn't have to do 2 shots per day, but I did have to do 2 mls each day which was DREADFUL! My butt was bruised, itchy, sore and mind you I've been off those shots for 3 weeks and 1 day as of today and my butt is still bruised, itchy and sore. Sometimes the spots where I did the shots tingle and the lumps aren't all the way gone. Regardless... it was definitely worth it because we got our BFP in the end. You are going to just have to keep your mind focused on the end goal.

Yes! My mantra was "this is for the baby". There were days I would cry because I was so mentally and physically exhausted/overwhelmed and just had to keep repeating it until I could do it. It is worth it!!

My nurse called and said that today's Progesterone level indicated that ovulation occurred. I will start Lupron injections (10u every morning) beginning tomorrow morning

@ShayLatrice how many weeks were you on them? I have heard such mixed things..some people say its absolutely awful, others say it's really not so bad..so we will see. I am curious though if I do get a BFP how many weeks they keep you on it for. I will do what it takes and the needle part doesn't bother me..shots aren't a big deal to me but constant discomfort/pain will bother me.
@twomommiestobe Oh my gosh!! My PIO injections have become so painful. The red lumps are so itchy! Ughhh! But I also got my BFP so I know I really should not complain!

Yeah, I am bleeding more. I would talk to your RE. Once they saw my red itchy lumps, they wanted to switch me immediately.

@rachlee2010 I started PIO shots on Dec 3rd and ended them on Feb 2nd. The shots themselves aren't bad to administer. It's the lumps and the itchiness afterwards that is a pain in the butt, literally. Most clinics keep you on between 10-12 weeks. I was supposed to be on until 12 weeks, but when I went in for blood work at 10w5d I hadn't taken a shot that morning and my progesterone level was 81 so my OB said I could stop. I was def happy to stop.
@wenikilina and @twomommiestobe the more shots you administer the more you will find that you might get blood back in the syringe. The PIO can cause bruising under the skin on the muscle so you will find from time to time that you are drawing back blood. I hated that, because then I had to poke myself again. There were some mornings I poked myself 3 times before I didn't draw back blood.

My RE wanted to switch to suppositories. My ins won't cover it! It's going from $20 a month for pio to about $700 a month. I'm so bummed! I'm waiting to hear if the RE says I should just stay on the shots. I'm miserable on them, but at this point we are financially drained and that is a lot of money
Update: I'm staying on the pio. Ugghh bittersweet. But my nurse said I can put benadryl cream on the spots to help-maybe ask your Dr if you need relief too.

Sorry that all you ladies are going through a rough patch with those shots but they will be totally worth it! Ladies I had a saline test today to make sure everything looked ok down there lol. All is good, slightly painful but the most painful part was seeing about six follicles on my left ovary and not doing an IVF cycle. ITS THE MOST IVE SEEN EVER!!! So sad. That's cuz I upped the meds I bet lol. Looking forward to even more next cycle when I get on the correct meds. I swear people who get pregnant naturally HAVE NO IDEA the stuff we have to go through. We are tough woman!

I wasn't so nervous for the PIO shots until you ladies told me what happened to you..ugh..hopefully it' won't be so bad. Last night after my estrogen shot when DH pulled it out it bled way more than any other IM shot has..it stopped quickly but freaked us out..

@twomommiestobe On another note, how is the nausea? I thought I could get away without it. But the last several days I have been constantly nauseous. It doesn't matter if I eat or not. It just doesn't go away now. I have not thrown up, but felt like I have come close several times. Hoping to not start throwing up!

@wenikilina and @twomommiestobe the more shots you administer the more you will find that you might get blood back in the syringe. The PIO can cause bruising under the skin on the muscle so you will find from time to time that you are drawing back blood. I hated that, because then I had to poke myself again. There were some mornings I poked myself 3 times before I didn't draw back blood.

Update: I'm staying on the pio. Ugghh bittersweet. But my nurse said I can put benadryl cream on the spots to help-maybe ask your Dr if you need relief too.

Ladies I had a saline test today to make sure everything looked ok down there lol. All is good, slightly painful but the most painful part was seeing about six follicles on my left ovary and not doing an IVF cycle. ITS THE MOST IVE SEEN EVER!!! So sad. That's cuz I upped the meds I bet lol. Looking forward to even more next cycle when I get on the correct meds.
I swear people who get pregnant naturally HAVE NO IDEA the stuff we have to go through. We are tough woman!

I wasn't so nervous for the PIO shots until you ladies told me what happened to you..ugh..hopefully it' won't be so bad. Last night after my estrogen shot when DH pulled it out it bled way more than any other IM shot has..it stopped quickly but freaked us out..

Married my best friend in 2013 (I was 33), After 1.5yrs of TTC got my first BFP naturally on 2/7/15 but ended in DNC on 4/14/15, not viable. Needing an RE was a must.....IUI#1 Sept 2015,,, BFN IUI#2 Oct 2015,,,BFN IUI#3 Dec 2015,,BFN IVF#1 2/1/16- BFN IVF# on 3/29/16 retrieval only - 1 healthy chromosome tested embryo. IVF#3 retrieval 4/23/16- 0 healthy embryos. IVF#4 retrieval 6/17/16- 1 healthy embryo. FET#1-Transferred Both Healthy Embryos on 9/6/16 BFP!! 9/15/16 Beta 22.3, 9/17/16 Beta 60.5 & 9/19/16 Beta 195! 1st US on 9/23/16, only 1 Gast Sac & Yolk Sac found, US 9/30/16 US 6wk 1day saw and heard Heartbeat 120bpm!! EDD 5/25/2017 Had a healthy baby girl via CSection on 5/18/17 8lbs 15oz.
