@31magnolia I’m so sorry 😐 what a thanksgiving. I’m happy we’ll be buddies but I know it hurts. Even with mini IVF it sounds like estrogen priming will be useful to you. I meet with my RE next week.
AFM I met with a neurologist last week to discuss the potential implications of implanting my one carrier embryo. It didn’t really move the needle for me, I still don’t know how I feel about it. I really drew a bunk card on genetics with the FX, anxiety and depression but I’m still somehow attached. I feel really dumb about it because I know genetics aren’t all they’re cracked up to be - my SO barely speaks to his crazy AF family and most of the traits I want to pass on - good work ethic, empathy, kindness, humor- are mostly taught. It’s a rough road, to be sure! Screw infertility!
I do feel better now that I’m off the DHEA. No more cramping and it seems like my LH isn’t pulling as high. I used to get the flashy smiley face on all my OPKs but none so far this month. Granted, I’ve only been testing every so often because I don’t feel like obsessing about it.
@31magnolia. Ugh, I’m so sorry lady. Like Lucy said, what a Thanksgiving:( I think your day 3 transfers is a good plan for sure.
@lucyb1954 I hear you on the genetics. It’s a tricky thing. And it’s a mourning process when you give them up even if you arI’m glad you are feeling better off the DHEA:)
@mum1love I’ve read a bit on ovarian rejuvenation but don’t know anyone who has actually done it. It’s not very widely practiced. I know CHR was recruiting for a clinical trial a little while back when I was reading up on it but I’m sorry to say I don’t have anything else to add on that topic.

@31magnolia - Ugh, hang in there friend. I'm sorry you had to get that news on Thanksgiving. With your game plan for next time, does your lab do day 3 freezing? I want to say mine would not (they would do day 3 transfers, just not freezing); that was 2 years ago though, and I know technology changes quickly. And yes, hopefully the embryology report will provide more information for you.
@c-town18 - I thought about that yesterday, since they've never mentioned it as an option. I brought it up to my RE during our consultation prior to this last failed IVF and she didn't say no, but she also didn't say yes. I really hope they do, because if they don't that's going to open a whole different can of worms and I really don't feel like dealing with that stress.
@lucyb1954 - I know all of this has to be even more stressful for you, with the genetics factor on top of just normal IVF drama. I"m with you..."screw infertility". Glad you're feeling better now that your off the DHEA. I tried it for 2 weeks, but I was so scared of the side effects that I stopped.
I'll let everyone know how my consult goes. Hoping for no bad news or drama!
@c-town18 - so you were right. My clinic will do 3 day fresh transfers but won’t freeze anything that’s not a blast. So not sure what to do. The doc did say they could possibly transfer more than one at a time but I’m not sure that’s a good thing. She did agree to lower the letrozole to 5 mg and start follistim a day sooner (4th stim day). Just not sure what to do yet.
31magnolia - Does she suspect that these embryos you've been getting are aneuploid based on what embryology looks like? I know there is no way to tell that without doing the PGS but I wasn't sure if there are any hints that might suggest that (?) Or does she have any feeling of whether this is an egg quality issue as opposed to something else? Again, no way to know for sure but sometimes I know these docs have opinions about these things. Ugh, I'm sorry you're having to go through this, I know it's hard to decide what to do when there are so many unknowns.
@c-town18 - she hasn’t said one way or the other. The report just said that the embryo was at morula on day 5 and never grew from that stage on day 6 or 7. She did agree to estrogen priming, starting follistim a day earlier (day 4), lower dose of letrozole and several other things. I still call this past mini cycle a success. I had two follicles and each follicle had a mature egg. I just don’t think my body likes the high stim. That protocol only produced one mature egg even though I had 6 mature follicles. So now that I’ve calmed down some, I’m feeling hopeful for this next cycle in January.
Thanks everyone for the kind words ❤️ I’m so grateful for the support I get here.
@31magnolia it sounds like you have a good plan for moving forward. And as you said, last cycle you did get 2 mature eggs so that’s hopeful!
Our old friends @emmasemm and @hopefuljj how you doing ladies??? Love your updates!
AFM I had an appointment with my RE today. We agreed to do one more cycle with estrogen patch priming, higher stims, and less of the lupron. She doesn’t use the longer dose HGH priming pretty much ever but said she’s open to it. I want to do some more research on it and decide whether I think it’s a good route for me.
I haven’t ovulated this cycle and no AF so far on day 32, all one more reminder of DOR which feels kind of depressing. Boo!
@lucyb1954 - hey girlie. Just checking in. Did your cycle start? Mine was late this month, too. I guess it was because of the meds. They always throw me off. Did you figure off if you are going to do the HGH priming?
Hi! So sweet of you to check in ❤️ I’m hanging in there. I hattteeee being benched for the holidays I just want to get this cycle over with! No AF so far 🙄🙄🙄 which is so frustrating but if I go in in January and still no AF but ovaries are quiet we’ll just launch into priming. I could go back to acupuncture and see if I could get jumpstarted that way but I just have this feeling of needing to give my body a break. When are you starting priming? And what dose are you at? My doctor is always concerned about how the stims affect me emotionally etc and I’m always like hey girl, it feels good to be actually doing something even if it is just sticking yourself full of hormones!!! I’m still working on wrapping my brain around donor eggs but I think the transition for me will really complete if this next cycle fails. I actually met someone in a FB group who is at clinic and using donor eggs! She also has genetic mutation issues although they are different from mine. We’re going to meet up for lunch sometime soon. I wish I could meet you ladies face to face! You’ve all been such a great support system! I need to rack up some frequent flyer miles and go on a world tour!!!
@lucyb1954 That’s so awesome that you are gonna get to go on an IRL date with a lady in a similar situation! It really is therapeutic!!! I went to London last January and on one evening met up with a long time infertility friend from the fertility App I lived in for 4 years. It was so lovely. We sipped wine and just chatted away. She’s actually having a donor egg embryo transfer tomorrow in London. We chat on What’s App Almost daily now and 3 other ladies from the same App who all live in NY, we brunch monthly now and have for about a year. On one of our early meetups we did dinner one of the ladies from the west coast was in town for work and she joined us!
It’s lovely to be able to connect In real life:) The online support is as you say also AMAZING!!! all the support we can get is what we need and deserve!!

@hopefuljj hiyeeeee!!! Good to hear from you lady, how you doing? I know, I’m excited to meet someone IRL too. During this whole thing I’ve been wishing I lived near a bigger urban city where there are support groups and such. I have a therapist and such but it’s not the same. That’s so lovely that you’re such good friends with these folks!
@lucyb1954 - hey. I was on vacations and am just now getting back to reality. I really don’t know when to start Estrogen priming. I got my period about 4 days later than normal this month and now it looks like I’m ovulating on CD10. So I don’t know how short this cycle is going to be. But I guess I’ll start in about a week. We are just doing timed intercourse this month.
That’s awesome that you’re going to meet up with someone from the FB group! That would be so cool to do.
Hi ladies, wishing you a peaceful and nice holiday season. My apologies that I have not posted. The last cycle which we decided to do an IUI because there was only the two follicles failed. Found out a few days before my birthday and hubby surprised me with a trip: cruise to mexico and LA & Vegas. Since then the IF journey has been out of my mind and I am at peace with that till the new year. I will catch up on all the posts when I am off next week but truly hope everyone is doing well. Miss you ladies! xoxo
@Imajin99 good to hear from you! Sounds like an amazing trip! Sorry the IUI didn’t work out
@31magnolia are you testing for ovulation and confirming with temps? Those cycles between treatment cycles can be a bit weird.
We froze our embryos on day 3 and my lab is just as capable with these as with blasts. But since freezing blasts became the norm some labs no longer have the personnel with the skills for day 3s since they are more tricky to manage. If your embryos don’t grow well in the lab and you want to freeze (like I needed to) then you might have to think of switching clinics if you continue with OE.
@lucyb1954 sorry your cycle is all messed up too! Though that’s lovely about meeting someone close going through something so similar! I’ve met up with two ladies in my city (bearing in mind I’m not in an English speaking country) but after I was PG we haven’t seen each other since. Which I fully understand.
@hopefuljj so good to hear all is well with you! My sister has gone crazy on the pink for our girl already - just be ready!!!
AFM sorry I haven’t been around much as things have been crazy hectic
We had our 3rd tri US yesterday at 28+3 and baby girl is looking great. She’s in a seated position on my right hand side, using my placenta as a cushion! My placenta is still over my cervix and with some other risks increasing we made the decision yesterday that I am now off sick until my maternity leave starts. Need to take it easy so I don’t end up with a Carrie situation... but otherwise feeling good and looking forward to the next 2 weeks with DH over his Xmas break

@emmasemm - I did the OPK strips. Between that and actually feeling the follicle on my right side (I usually can when I ovulate) I was able to tell I ovulated CD9. I usually (with no meds) ovulate on CD10/CD11, so this was a little early for me. But like you said the cycle after treatment is always wonky. I am going to do a fresh 3 day transfer, but as for the freezing I don't know what to do. I really don't want to switch clinics and start with someone new, especially since everyone has mixed reviews where I am. But it may be something that I need to consider. I haven't figured out if this will be our last cycle or if we'll try one more after this one. YAY on your growing baby girl. Sounds like she'll have pink overload. lol. It's good that you're going on sick leave. Do what you need to do!
Hi everyone ❤️ Nice to hear all the updates. @emmasemm I hope the bed rest gets everything in the right place although it sounds like the little one is making good use of the placenta where it is as a recliner 😆
I’m supposed to start the vivelle patch tomorrow if I can find a pharmacy around that carries it. No luck so far but I’m going to try again tomorrow. I think I’ll start stims around 1/10 and am priming with 7iu HGH as well. I’m feeling really down though. A close friend is pregnant and announced it to me by saying she saw how much I struggled with infertility and was worried they’d have trouble so she and her husband started trying. So glad I could be an inspiration 🙄🙄🙄
trying to keep up hope but really struggling today. Sometimes I just feel totally cursed. How’s everyone else doing? Enjoying some time around the holidays? Lots of hugs to everyone ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@lucyb1954 - sending you hugs! I know how you feel. I also keep going back and forth and it seems everyone around me is pregnant. But we do have to keep hoping and believing our time will come.
I should start stimming next week. You’re going to do 7iu HGH daily?? Have you started that already?
Hi @31magnolia! Yay for starting stims! I’ve started priming but probably won’t start stims until 1/12. The low dose HGH is for priming and then I’ll do 35 iu during stims. I started my estrogen patches a couple of days ago. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Seriously couldn’t do this without you wonderful ladies cheering me on and being able to empathize. ❤️
It seemed a little cruel to me that my friend announced to me two days before Christmas as if the holidays weren’t hard enough for people like us. Plus she’s only 8 weeks along so it’s not like she would have magically started showing if she had waited two more weeks. TBH it kind of made me question my relationship with her because clearly she has zero sensitivity toward me.
I’m trying to keep up my hopes but it’s rough. I told my mom she needs to hold up the hope for me for awhile because I’m struggling with it. I’m letting it be okay that I feel kinda hopeless and not trying to force myself into feeling positive. I think it will run it’s course.
How are you doing during the holidays? Much much much ❤️ To @Imajin99@hopefuljj@emmasemm and our other grads @c-town18@Hopeful_mom love hearing updates from you! Always inspiring to me to hear your success stories after the crap struggle!
@lucyb1954 - I’ve been ok this holiday season. I had my dark hole right before the holidays. The doubt and hopelessness comes in waves.
I hear what and understand what you’re saying about your friend. It was insensitive. Do you think you’ll say anything to her about it?
I’m starting so early in January Because December is going to end up being a very short cycle since I ovulated on CD 9. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that everything doesn’t get all screwy with the clinic Since AF may start over the holidays.
lucyb1954 - Yeah, that's annoying about your friend and totally insensitive. Sorry you had to deal with her dropping that news right before Christmas. Re: feeling hopeless. I remember the feeling very well (or for me it was a combination of feeling hopeless and a sense of panic). DH and I had an honest conversation after my first failed cycle/MC about what we'd be comfortable with if IVF with my OE didn't work out (whether that be adoption, DE, or accepting that we may not have children; turns out we decided we'd be OK with options a or b). For me that really helped to reduce the pressure and hopelessness because I knew that there were other options we as a couple would be fine with if my eggs continued to produce abnormal embryos and that we'd eventually get our baby, but the path to getting there just might not be what I had always envisioned. That way of thinking might not be for everyone I know, but it really helped me keep my sanity through it all.
I feel very similarity to CTown. Having the options, the plan B If you will, does really make things a little easier when striving towards plan A. The Holidays are so so hard. Year after year the hope faded and it got harder and harder so my heart totally goes out to you ladies this time of year. And moving on from plan A is a process. But when one door closes, when you really find your closure with one avenue then plan B truly becomes plan A. My therapist said sometimes it’s not until you can close one door that another one truly opens, and you feel suddenly open and excited about it.
@lucyb1954, I’m sorry about the friend announcing:( so insensitive. Last year after my DNC the day before Thanksgiving, my coworker/friend who was one of the very few who knew what I was going through, sent me her positive pregnancy test on Christmas Eve (or maybe the day before that). It was a lot. She had the baby now, and I’m over it but it was a hard text to receive because I thought I was finally going to be pregnant on Christmas and instead she was. Anyway, I’m thinking of you ladies. Sending love.

Awww thanks @c-town18 and @hopefuljj the holidays have been so hard on me this year. I feel like in general I’ve been pretty resilient through all this but it has definitely worn on me. And my friends announcement, really just the way she announced, was rough because I expected more of her. She’s one of the few I’ve opened up to about all of this so it was that much more hurtful when she was so insensitive.
A question for the crew and a little TMI but has anyone experienced a lot of cervical mucus during priming? I’m generally not one to have much of it but I’m getting some big dumps of it. I’m priming with 2 vivelle patches changed every other day plus 7iu HGH daily.
@lucyb1954 , I think mucus is quite common - estrogen does it for me too. Lots of extra lubrication down there

@lucyb1954 sorry the holidays were tough. My worst was probably 4 years ago, so we totally transformed all future holidays by 3 years ago flying (from Europe) to Vegas and getting married on New Year’s Eve- no more depressing holidays!!! A bit extreme but it worked for us!
And yes lots of CM during estrogen priming is normal and a good sign that it’s working!
I’m keeping everything crossed for you for this cycle!
@c-town18 we also had that conversation and agreed limits and what was a next step and not and this helped me a lot to know we had a clear plan of options. Amongst all then uncertainty of IF I think we need that bit of control.
Now 30 weeks (how the hell did we get here? We booked in at the hospital we want to give birth at on Friday and they agreed to our birth plan - so baby girl has an official eviction date! After almost 2 weeks at home I am so so glad I don’t have to go back to work next week as I’m napping both morning and afternoon and the Braxton Hicks are no joke!!! Anxiety is still ever present - if she doesn’t move for an hour I either drink something cold or poke her to make sure she’s still ok... But when she moves it is the best feeling in the world.

@emmasemm hiyeee!!!! So happy to hear from you! ❤️ Omg I can’t believe you’re at 30 weeks! I’m sure the Braxton Hicks are a wee bit unnerving too - IF sure does a number on your anxiety eh? Are you getting induced? Or what’s your EDD? Are you and hubs agreed on a name? You’re onto something about the holidays... maybe me and my SO should do that, we’re not married yet. This year we haven’t done a whole lot of vacations because it seems like we’re always waiting to start a cycle, in the middle of one, waiting for AF, etc.
Its kinda interesting about the CM because this definitely did not happen when I took the pills for priming. Glad it’s not only me who gets it 😆
anyway, as usual I have to tell you all how grateful I am for everyone of you , you’ve really saved my life this year and my sanity. Thank you to everyone who has offered support and feedback ❤️❤️❤️ I really believe 2020 will be our year @31magnolia@Imajin99 especially if our friends @emmasemm and @hopefuljj are indications!
emmasemm Hello Yes, round 2! Although our second embryo didn't take, so it sounds like round 2 of IVF for us in 2020. Congrats on 30 weeks!!! so exciting!!!

Happy New Year ladies, praying and hoping for success in our journey. @emmasemm 30 weeks...! That came quickly, glad things are going well and you have your birth plan in place.
Hi All - So as you all know we skipped IVF December and I decided to do things differently on my own. Update and results below.
This December I did a low dose of Letrozole from CD4-7. I ovulated early (CD9). I did a pregnancy test 8DPO and 10DPO both were negative, which I was fine with since we were doing the next IVF cycle the first week of Jan. So I've been patiently waiting for my period to start, which should have been on Dec 30. Finally on Thursday (16DPO) my boyfriend suggested that I may be pregnant. And I fussed at him because he always does that and I never am. He left the room and I said to myself, "I'm going to take another test to prove him wrong". Well... immediately a 2nd pink line showed up. I am staring at it in confusion. And from the time I walked from the toilet to the sink, the 2nd line became extremely dark. Then I just burst into tears. Told my boyfriend and he's also in shock. lol. I went out and bought 3 more test. Took them all and they all said positive. More sobbing. Took my beta yesterday and it was 1024. Cue sobbing. lol. So now I have a second beta on Tuesday and the worrying begins. I'm trying to stay positive and enjoy this moment though!
@31magnolia oh wow!!! Keeping everything crossed for that second beta!

Re: Low AMH Level
I do feel better now that I’m off the DHEA. No more cramping and it seems like my LH isn’t pulling as high. I used to get the flashy smiley face on all my OPKs but none so far this month. Granted, I’ve only been testing every so often because I don’t feel like obsessing about it.

IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5! 2 5AA 1 6BB PGS results = all abnormal
IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty. Nothing made it to day 5
IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval
IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 5 - Canceled - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty
IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS
Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!! 1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.
FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol
Chemical pregnancy
FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN
Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2???? Miscarriage at 8 weeks. viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal
DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos
1st transfer - chemical pregnancy
2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!

Hoping for no bad news or drama!
hugs to everyone 🙂❤️

I am going to do a fresh 3 day transfer, but as for the freezing I don't know what to do. I really don't want to switch clinics and start with someone new, especially since everyone has mixed reviews where I am. But it may be something that I need to consider. I haven't figured out if this will be our last cycle or if we'll try one more after this one.
YAY on your growing baby girl. Sounds like she'll have pink overload. lol. It's good that you're going on sick leave. Do what you need to do!

@fuzzydust hey old friend! You’re back for no 2?
@31magnolia hope your cycle held off and you have some good timing to start this new cycle
@imajin99 keeping you in my thoughts too
@c-town18 we also had that conversation and agreed limits and what was a next step and not and this helped me a lot to know we had a clear plan of options. Amongst all then uncertainty of IF I think we need that bit of control.
@hopefuljj how are you doing? 22 weeks???
